A little about my ACNE background... I started to get acne when I was about 13-14 years old. I am 26 years old now so I have be dealing with it for 10+ years and I AM SO OVER IT! I'm over waking up in the morning to a new mountain on my face or my skin peeling from a healing pimple. Acne has affected my everyday life in every possible way... I can't leave the house with out make-up on because not only do I have to cover the existing pimple but also the scars that they have left behind. I've become more self-conscious because I am no longer a teenager and still dealing with this.
Things I have tried:
Various other 3 step acne medications (cleaner, toner & spot treatment)
Microderm (10 or so)
Chemical Peels (10 or so)
To become free of Acne.. to be able to go swimming and not be self-conscious about my make-up washing off in the water, I want to be able to wake up and be free from being afraid to look in the mirror, to be able to leave the house without make-up!!!
My Acne Description:
I currently have at any given time 5-6 large red pimples, but my main issue now is the amount of blackheads and under the skin pimples that I have which have yet to come to the surface. They are not red, but i can feel them if I run my finger down my cheek and you can see the uneven skin texture.
I started Accutane 2 days ago and I am so excited to see what the next few months have in store... I am even excited for the IB so I know it's working lol. After my cycle of Accutane is over I have to wait 6-12 months before I can invest in some laser resurfacing procedure so I can have the smooth, clear, EVEN skin I have always wanted! Wish me luck and i will do my best to keep this as up to date as possible. It was because of this website and all the amazing before and after pictures that you all posted that gave me the guts to start Accutane, So a BIG thank you to all the brave people who put their faces out there! You all look amazing smile.gif
