Day 12

Misty E

I ordered Emu oil and have started using it. I like it so far. Hopefully it will work on my scars. My lips are still dry and my face is still peeling. Still using the Cetphil wash and sometimes Aveno Mild Exfoliator. It burns but helps with the peeling. I also use a toner sometimes. Aquaphor doesn't always cut it on my lips so I use Burt's Bees lip balm sometimes. I have been putting the Emu oil on my lips in between too. I got a pretty big cyst on my cheek 2 days ago but after putting the Emu oil on it a layer of skin peeled off of it this morning and it seems to be drying out. I put more on it this morning to see what happens. Everything else is going great as far as taking the medicine. The worst part is my lips!

From my experience, and what I've read, you really really shouldn't exfoliate on Accutane. It can cause more damage than good.My trick has been putting Polysporin on the really bad dry skin at night (you'll go through a lot of pillow cases, but it works), and then if I still need it in the morning I'll put it on the dry areas.Good luck!

I only did it a few times the first few days of the peeling but have found I haven't really needed to since using the Emu Oil. How long have you been on Accutane?

I'm on day...47. I only had to pay extra attention to the dry areas for about a week (somewhere around day 35). I wonder if I haven't dried out really bad because I was so excessively oily before? I've also been on retin A in the past and that dried me out horribly (and didn't work for shit).

Mine chin has been really dry yesterday and today. What do you do when yours is really dry to remove some of the dead skin? It is about to drive me crazy! Why do they say not to exfoliate?
