Starting Accutane (Amnesteem) Today!

Hey everyone! I absolutely love acne.org and I constantly come here for support, although I have never actually been a "member." Everyone on these message boards seem so caring and supportive and offer good advice. So I thought I would join and start my own accutane blog (I just picked up my first prescription today) for support and to track my own progress. Before deciding to start accutane, I did TONS of research. I read a million accutane blogs, so I wanted to make my own blog to help people out like they helped me.

Anyways, I am a 20 year old female. I never really have had severe acne, until about 6 months ago. It is strange because I never had acne when I was younger. My acne now isn't very bumpy, it is just a million blemishes that scar. So my face looks like a tomato. I am about to start accutane and I am SCARED! I have really sensitive skin and I have allergic contact dermatitis, so I am worried that it is going to make my skin look worse.

I am planning to start accutane later today! I already went to the store and bought:

-Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

-Oil of Olay with SPF

-Dove Moisturizing Body Wash

-Eucerin Body Lotion (Orginal)

-Aquaphor

-and I ordered Dr. Dan's Cortibalm from Walgreens

Am I forgetting anything? Has anyone used Dr. Dan's Cortibalm? Does it work?

Thank you for any responds :D

hey! you need to make sure you are putting something like vaseline on the inside of your nose with a q tip because it dries everything up in there and will cause lots of nosebleeds!! also you should buy some head and shoulders because your scalp is going to dry up too and you could get flaky! good luck

Yea definately use vaseline inside the nose, I just started a week ago and it's been nothing but dried up blood when I blow my nose. Also, you may want to get eye drops, just heard later on it dries your eyes out.

Yeah, eyedrops are a good idea! I wear contacts too! Do they make eyedrops for contact wearers? That is probably a stupid question, but I could have sworn I looked before and couldn't find any lol. Thanks!
