so my face is still 100% from the six months of accutane. i was looking back on some of my older blogs of when i was on accutane, & theres a lot of things i wish i could have told myself..
for one, always, always, ALWAYS wear sunscreen! even in the winter!
& always, always, always, always, always has lip medication! its so important, your lips get to unbelievably chapped, you cant go a day without it & if you go into class & forget in for an hour, you'll come out looking like sidney crosby, not with the sexy body or the swagger .. just the big lips.
you also need to remember to be patient, believe its going to work, because odds are it is.
also, yes it will get worse before it gets better .. thats just the way it goes
& lastly, i wish i could tell myself to wear more moisturizer, its actually extremely good for your skin.
now that my acnes gone, i feel amazing! although i still do get zits every now & then. the facewash i use is neutrogena, any one of there anti-acne face washes is amazing, it leaves your face feeling fresh & you always feel better the next morning, i also bought neutrogena's 'rapid clear spot gel' which works really fast on pimples, and even if i feel one coming on, i can put it on & it stops it right away.
since i went from tons of acne, to none, i have very many scars, basically it looks like i still have acne, minus the actual acne bumps. my skin has red dots all over it & if you are another person who suffers from acne scars, you know what i mean. i cover-up my spots with foundation. i know acne is ugly & embarrassing, but you should not wear foundation until your face is fully clear, because it looks weird on bumps & because it can sometimes make things worse, its best to just let your face do its thing, it'll be worth it in the end. you should also not wear face-makeup on accutane because your skin is so extremely dry, it would flake off anyways & might possibly block your pores causing more acne. when you've gotten to the stage where your acne is gone & your ready to start using make-up you should also try to go for a foundation that is mineral, they work very well. although i use liquid foundation, because i personally find it easier, whichever kind you like, as long as it says 'helps fight acne', 'dosent clog pores' or 'non-comedogenic'. the type of liquid foundation i use, which i also strongly suggest, is 'almay: clear complexion makeup', there is a whole line of stuff there. they have pressed powder, which i also have & concealer, which i'd also recommend getting, because it helps cover those really bad scars , this almay line also 'heals & conceals' (catchy & true) so not only will it cover it, but it'll heal it too. this makeup is easy to find & not very expensive, i found mine at walmart, im sure its always at local drugstores too.
you can use sponges or a brush to apply liquid foundation, i personally use a brush because it turns out better, but i occasionally use a sponge. if you choose to use a brush, you should know some are very hard to clean, i bought a quo brush, which was expensive & really hard to clean .. then i went to walmart & bought a foundation brush from 'ecotools', & its so amazingly easy to clean, cheap & good for the environment! seriously, if you havent gotten one yet. i'd suggest it.. for cleaning your brushes, which you should do everyday so that you wont be putting more dirt onto your face, you should use quo foundation brush cleanser if you can find it, i got it at a drugstore, im not sure if they sell them at wallmart or not, if you cant find that one, then babysoap works too.
if you are using a sponge for your make-up, the ones i would suggest for a clearer face are these one i got at 'rexall' drugstore, there cosmetic sponges with vitamin e, although any cosmetic sponge should work fine.
thats all i can really think of right now, i hope some of this helped you. thanks for reading
