So I have been on this medication for around 7 months now and it has worked but not enough for me to be completely happy with my skin. So I went to the doctors and they have referred me to a dermatologist, this means a long wait for an appointment. Hopefully it will be worth it and I will get something that works
I am a week behind with my entries so this is last weeks result. My face is healing and breakouts are going down quicker. The aloe vera that i'm using on my face in the morning seems to be taking my scarring down.
It was my 3 months of taking Lymecycline and using Differin, I am a week late with this entry but my face was more red and unhappy for some reason for the last week it has got better. I will take photos of this week tomorrow and there may be a little difference.
My face is a little better this week after changing my moisturiser and drinking more water. I went to the doctors and they said it could take up to 6 months to completely work and take it all away, so I will carry on doing what i'm doing.
On week 8 there isn't one part of my face that doesn't have a spot on it. I think my new moisturiser has bought me out in spots so I have stopped using that. I have also started drinking water a lot more so maybe that will help.
Week 7 and my face is awful. I have spots coming up everywhere and nothing seems to be helping, the differin looks like it's working when I wake up in the morning but by the evening my face is a mess and just as red and angry as it used to be.
Week 6 and I have a lot of angry spots and under-the-skin spots everywhere, hopefully this is the worst of it now and my face will start to get better. I have started to use aloe vera after my differin and this seems to be healing some of the larger spots.
End of week three and my face feels better. although it doesn't look a lot better. I'm hoping I will be able to see a difference soon and my face will start to heal and my spots will go down. People are also noticing that my face is calmer and looks better when I have make up on.
This is my face after two weeks, I can see and feel improvements. Although it looks angry, my face doesn't feel irritated or anything. I have more spots than usual but nothing I can't cover up with make up, my cheeks are feeling the worst of it. Hopefully next week the spots on my cheeks would of gone down.
These are photos from days 10 & 11, unfortunately the next entry will be at the end of week two as I forgot to take photos on the other days. My face is calming down. Still have spots popping up but they go down quicker and are less angry the next day. I may start doing a weekly photo of my face instead of a daily. Bottom photos are day 10, top are day 11.
Not much difference today, as I expected. Spots on my chin seem angry, probably the start of my skin getting used to the cream and the new routine. Skin seemed dry this morning but added my moisturiser and it was fine.
I started Lymecycline 4 months ago and it wasn't really doing much for me. So I went back to my GP who added Differin 0.1% Cream to my acne routine. My acne started when I was 17; I am now 19. It is mild adult acne, I have bumps on my chin and forehead, along with a few spots on my chin. I also have scarring. I want to keep this diary for myself and anyone else who wants to know what this routine will do, this is a new experience for me and I really hope that it will help my face. I'm a little worried about the initial breakout that Differin brings. The photos below are day one, one use of Differin the night before this photo was taken. I used to use Proactiv+ for my cleanser routine for 6 months and it has done nothing for me, no better, no worse. I've now started to use a gentle cleanser at night, wait 30mins-1hour and then put the Differin on.
