So this is going to be a fairly short post..... Despite getting around eight hours of sleep each night I am more tired than ever. When I woke up this morning my face had gotten extremely dry. I don't think the moisterizers I am using are enough to keep my flaky skin at bay. I've decided to use my dermatologist recommended moisterizer every other day (if I use it every day I tend to breakout) and see if that helps at all! I will list the name in tomorrow's post because I'm already in bed and can't remember what it's called. Fingers crossed that it works!
So today was not a good day..... I followed all of the steps I planned on taking and by the time it got to the end of the night my acne had gotten worse. I will equate some of it to the exorbitant amount of sugar I ate on Easter so hopefully that clears up by the end of the week. Most of these new pimples are small and above ground so that's good, but I do have one underground pimple and it hurts really bad. If anyone has any simple tricks for getting rid of this cystic acne-like stuff under my skin please let me know! I'm trying my hardest not to pick, but if it doesn't go down soon I may not be able to stop myself. The cold cream really seems to be hydrating my skin well, but that's the only improvement i've seen! Granted is has only been one day..... I will keep updating as the days go by and may upload pictures if I get the chance so I can visually track my progress as well!
I have struggled with acne going on three years now and It's getting progressively worse. I have been to a dermatologist and am using two creams (Adapalene and Clindamyacin) but they just aren't quite doing the trick. I am also on birth control, but that's not helping. I have extremely sensative skin so products that contain salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, etc. usually end up making things worse. I also have very dry skin. It is difficult to find products that moisterize my skin but don't cause my acne to flare up. After searching around and trying various products I believe I've found one that's going to finally work. Say yes to carrots! There are different types of skincare products to target different acne problems and they are almost all natural so they're gentle on your skin. I am currently using the say yes to cucumber daily gel cleanser and night treatment and the say yes to grapefruit daily facial scrub (once a week) and the daily moisterizer. I'm also using pond's cold cream cleanser as a morning cleanser and as a gentle way to remove my makeup at the end of the night. I've taken many tests and evaluated my lifestyle and have come to the conclusion that my three main problems that are causing my acne are lack of sleep, not drinking enough water, and not using the right products. For the next three weeks I am going to challenge myself to drink 3 liters of water a day, get 8 hours of sleep a night, and stick to a new skincare regimen. Wish me luck!
