For the first time in years I woke up this morning with no active cysts and I couldn't be happier. With the last one that had been lingering for a couple weeks had finally vanished and now nothing. Im still along way to go but without the cysts I know I'm nearly done. I have a few clogged pores and blackheads that still need shifting and my pigmentation needs work but its faded a lot (I'm starting a very light exfoliation on the clogged pores as most of them seem to be extruding). To think this
Haven't done an update in a while because I have been rather busy with work and university so thought I would try get one done now. I have been really lucky up un till the last few weeks or so and have had minimum side effects (dry lips and the one nose bleed in the first few weeks but thats about it) up until a few weeks ago when my body seemed to have turned against me.
I started getting bad stomach pains and pains in my body that I had not had before, especially ones where my live
Okay so Im on day 110 coming up to the end of my fourth month of Accutane and things are finally starting to have a noticeable difference. I have 0 active cysts. The cream that my derm prescribed me has seen to the remaining few that were there. I have one large pimple on my back but its not a cyst and I know its not going to leave a huge red mark like a cyst would so I'm happy. There are patches of skin on my back that have become clear from blackheads and clogged pores which haven't been clea
Im currently a few days in to month 4 of Accutane and I have just got back from my check up with my dermatologist.
She asked me if my acne had improved and I said I couldn't see a difference myself except for the PIH calming down which she was surprised about but when she had a look she said it had definitely improved which was awesome to hear. She has kept my dosage the same and provided me with a cream to put on any active lesions which will help them die down.
She is also getting me in
So im a few days in to my third month of accutane. My initial break out is still ongoing but seems to be calming down. Still on the same dosage 30mg. My PIH hasn't faded as much as it did within the last couple months but still has lightened more. Keeping on with the vitamins to try and speed this process up.
Nothing really too bad with side effects. Had my first nose bleed the other week while showering and then the other day my bottom lip started bleeding from the dryness but thats it. Pas
Day 47 of being on Accutane and what I assume to be my initial breakout seems to be dying off. The overall size of the cysts have shrunk a lot so I'm hoping I'm on the up from here. So far I have been lucky with side effects. Only ones I have experienced is dry lips and a flaking of skin around the mouth but nothing some vaseline and moisturiser can't help.
I had my 1 month check up the other day with my derm and she said signs seem to be good. She didn't up my dosage and even said she could reduce it for me if my lips were hard to live with as she commented on how dry they looked but I refused. Even said she could probably get some of the bigger cysts burnt off and then smoothed over?
My skin has been gradually getting worse and worse and has really badly flared up for the first time in weeks, just as my skin was finally getting the chance to
Well actually its 1 month and 3 days now so thought I would update on how the treatments going. I haven't noticed any improvements in my acne. Around Day 21 - 23 a few cysts sprung up, all which seemed to be focused in the same area which was quite annoying considering the previous two or three weeks I had minimal active acne (which is assuming because I was away on holiday and took full advantage of the sea and its benefits)
The best news though is my PIH has faded slightly. I noticed just
Day 11 (Continued)
In the evening I started with a really bad throat it felt like my throat was swollen like I was starting with the flu or something as my body was starting to ache as well. I tried to get an early nights sleep to warn it off but the weather here made it nearly impossible as it was the hottest day of the year and was awful to try and get some rest.
Im assuming that the aches in my body are from my training. I exercise a few days a week and most of the aches were in the muscl
Started to notice that my skin is flaking on my ankles and on my chin just under my lower lip. Im guessing that this means the accutane is starting to take effect and I should make more of an effort to moisturise. Still no big side effects which I'm more than happy about.
Not much has happened this week overall. Accidentally drank a little bit of alcohol last night. Just a mouthful. Totally forgot. Minor headache straight after but that's about it.
I experienced some pain in my left nipple for a couple days but that's gone now. Not sure if that was accutane related or something to do with the steroids they have me on.
Minor IB problems but again nothing major.
And only a slight initial breakout which seems to have calmed down as well now so all in all
I noticed last night that my skin has flared up and by today it's got slightly worse. Only in the place that I usually break out though so nothing out of the ordinary. A couple of cysts and my skin has got a little more oily.
Seems worse than it is just because I had no active acne once I had got back from holiday but i guesse it just means the tablets are kicking in.
Slight bloatedness but so far no chapped lips or rough skin so it's ok.
Day 3 of Accutane. Nothing really new to comment on. No side effects that I'm physically aware of.
Not being able to have a drink is harder than I thought. Especially with working in a bar.
Skins been peeling but that will be from all the sun I caught while on holiday. Invested in some non bio conditioner today and avoided styling or blow drying my hair after showering to avoid drying it out.
I was prescribed Accutane a few weeks back now and finally plucked up the courage to take my first dose today. With just being back off holiday my cystic acne is reasonably under control due to the heat and the salt water from the sea. I still kept covered up though as to not worsen my PIH problem.
I took my first dose of 30mg of Accutane as well as 15 mg of Prednisolone ( a steroid to lessen the chances of side effects) just over half an hour ago. I will also be taking Vitamin E and a multi
