i think i've definitely cleared up by so much. it's not like my skin's crystal clear, i still break out but it's so manageable now. my skin's still incredibly oily but i'll take what i can get.
the main thing that's really cleared me up is estrogen. i'm assigned male at birth and i've recently come to terms with my gender identity, that i'm non-binary. so i took the hormonal route in transitioning and the side effect was clearer skin.
i know for a fact that it was estrogen because i s
things are looking really bad. like real bad. i honestly thought i was clearing up back at month 1 now it's just downhill. have about 3++ pimples everyday. it sucks i dont know if spiro is ever going to work
increased my dosage to 75mg last 5th of january. upped it again to 100mg last 11th. really dedicated to get my acne over with. no gynecomastia yet. no erectile dysfunction. there has been a significant decrease in libido but it's not like i cant get it up whenver i want to.
i haven't noticed a decrease in oiliness but the my breakouts are smaller. my back is clearing up. will update again soon.
i think im limiting my dose to 100mg.
been breaking out really badly this month. seems to be getting better. a lot of hyperpigmentation and dull but oily skin. only 1 pimple per day which is nicce. a lot of clogged pores but i dont really mind. hope i stop breaking out school's about to start and i dont want to look like a mess.
been taking spironolactone 50 mg a day for about a week now. no effects yet. i know the risks, i've searched the internet for days and i just need something that will work long term.
been so annoyed at my skin. i thought i could control my breakouts. seems like i cant. ive had a pretty rough month. it sucks. it really sucks
been using 1/3 of the recommended dose of bp in the morning and 2/3 in the evening. i combine it wiht clindamycin phosphate topical. used to work before now it doesnt. will try using 2/3 day and night but that usually makes my skin so dull. pray for me HAHA.
definitely have not been following the regimen bc i thought i could get away with it. HAHA. breaking out again. just glad that my breakouts have never been as bad as before and ive always been able to control them by increasing my bp dosage. just writing this for catharsis. hopefully i can fix my skin again before new year's!! keep fighting y'all!!!!
been breaking out a lot these past few months. it's not as bad as before. thanks to benzoyl i dont think it will ever get as bad as before but it's been pretty rough. i just forgot how hard it was to walk outside wihtout being ashamed of my face. i forgot the feeling of having acne and it felt so good not having to care about my skin for so long.
im breaking out but mostly because of the pollution in this city and the stress of college. im gonna be okay though, hopefully. it's getting better.
-cetaphil gentle cleanser
-benzoyl peroxide (1/6 of a finger)
-myra e sunscreen
-benzoyl peroxide(1/3 of a finger)
-myra e moisturizer
-aha 2/3 finger every other night
ive only been breaking out with very small pimples that you have to scrutinize my face to see them.
-clindamycin w/ benzoyl peroxide is working wonderfully (apparently combining these two makes for a powerful one-two punch, searched scientific articles o
broke out recently and that seems to have stopped thankfully. although now, i'm flaky and scaly again. what's more is my skin turned orangey-red (which is really bothering me) so i'm going to be reducing my bp dosage. hope i dont breakout from this and hopefully my skin turns back to normal. wish me luck! just happy that the bp is keeping acne at bay
- skin is very dry and flaky specially around my mouth, (but im still oily)
- skin was very red, now it's so much better
- had 1 big pimple, gone now. been having small dry whiteheads which go away immediately. have 1 pimple now. hopefully it goes away soon
- been using retin a w/ tyrosinase inhibitor only twice to thrice a week now. mostly twice
- will update soon! haven't had a facial yet.
- also, i have a ton of blackheads on my nose. hopefully the bp and retin a can do something about
ever since ramping the dosage of bp to 2mL from a pea sized amount, my skin has been red, peely and itchy.(but no new breakouts. which is very very new for me!!) so i have to change cleansers because my skin can't handle the aha soap anymore. replaced it with cetaphil. tried it today and it is a legitimate difference. i love it.
on the downside, my skin looks old, tired, kind of wrinkly and dull. probably from all the peeling with the aha soap, retin a and from all the dermatologist appoin
been breaking out a lot recently due to stress and pollution. hopefully these tweaks will help me clear up faster
adding tyrosinase inhibitor to speed up the lightening process of my acne marks and also ramping up my benzoyl peroxide dosage. apparently you have to use a lot for it to work. i've only been using a pea sized amount all over my face and while it helps keep the majority of my pimples back, i'm not 100% clear yet so hopefully this will work
after almost a year of using retin a, almost 3 months of using benzoyl peroxide and regular facials, i'm still experiencing breakouts. it's really annoying. i was legitimately clearing up during the christmas break but i honestly think that the pollution and stress i'm experiencing in manila is just freaking my skin out. anyway i'll try adding resorcinol and sulfur lotion to my regimen and see how that works. will update soon
i'm sorry but i just need a place to vent my feelings out
recently i've been clearing up a lot but these past few days have been really really frustrating. school is starting again and the pollution, stress and sleepless nights are all making me breakout. recently i've been breaking out only very small whiteheads that are barely noticeable but now it's just papules around my mouth area. it's not like my face is covered with pimples and red marks like before but i'm scared that it soon will be.
hey guys just wanted to check in. i've been clearing up in the past few weeks but recently broke out with 4 massive pimples which are thankfully inactive now. i started this blog applying retin a on my face and i'm still applying to this day. i used to take vitamin a,d3,c, zinc and niacin. all of which did nothing (took them for 5 months until i just gave up) i added salicylic acid, clindamycin toner, benzoyl peroxide and glyoclic soap in my regimen.
i'm still incredibly superbly oily but ive
so when i first started using tretinoin, i used this generic brand and that lasted for like three months and for a while my skin was getting better. when i ran out, i bought a new brand of tretinoin, retin a. in retrospect it did break me out a lot. now i'm on my fourth month, entering my fifth month of using retin a and
-i'm still oily
-still breaking out but i have clear areas on my face as opposed to before when my face was covered w/ acne
-my skin is smooth
really kind of losing hope
hey guys! it's been so long since i updated. retin a really does make your skin smooth but it has made mine shiny (bc my skin is now thin) but whatever i really dont mind. still not clear though but my acne has been SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. and it f idk if it's because of teh vitamins im taking (d3,a,zinc,niacin) or really because of retin a. anyway will update u guys if anything better happens.
and when ppl say that retin a makes pimples go away fast, it really is legit. it's like it hastens pim
so looking back, a change of brand of tretinoin definitely broke me out. or maybe it was just school, i don't know
things are not really looking so well. i have fewer pimples but a lot of them are really big and i started breaking out really mildly on my chest and back. im still oily and i don't know if i'm going anywhere but i'll continue this until week 24 and we'll see then.
-still taking vitamin a,d,niacin
-recently ran out of zinc
-started using african black soap and i love it! a l
- adding clindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide as spot treatments was the best decision ever
- still breaking out though but the number of my lesions has decreased significantly
-still oily, started taking vitamin d again like 3 days ago
- still taking zinc, vitamins a and d, and niacin
- my skin tone is getting lighter and more even
- my skin looks alive haha unlike before when it just looked dull and dead
-red marks are fading faster
- skin tone is kind of e
can't believe it's been four months. i've been on this shit for so long.
so my face is like 50% less oily which is great!
i don't know if it's because of niacin, vitamin a, zinc or my genes. ran out of vitamin d so i'll buy next week.
kind of realized that retin a won't be able to take care of everything on my face so i added clindamycin phosphate (cleared me up in 5 months but then acne came back) and benzac (benzoyl peroxide) as spot treatments.
so my face is smoother and tighter
so basically i switched brands of tretinoin 2 weeks ago. i switched from nuderm obagi tretinoin to retin a. i don't know if i'm getting another initial breakout but i'm getting a lot of pimples on my cheeks and temples.
- bumps on my head are way lesser
- lighter and more even skin tone ( but still shitty)
- with good lighting i kind of glow haha
- papules and pustules but no more cystic shit (i think) on my temples and cheeks
- my boxcars are actually lightening up and getting shallowe
feeling really discouraged right now because i'm getting a lot of negative feedback from a lot of users that i should stop retin a as it didn't do anything for them.
switched brands just last week and i don't know if i'm breaking out because of that or i dont even know anymore
my skin is really ugly right now. pimples everywhere, bumpy texture on my forehead, clogged and large pores, pustules, hyperpigmentation, scars (thank God i only have like one deep scar that the retin a can kind
finished my nuderm tretinoin 2 days ago so i bought retin a. i hope this change of brand wont break me out.
total pimple count : 20
i have tiny bumps on my forehead and i don't know what they are and i hope they go away
my skin looks better and i feel like it's glowing
i'm still oily but not as oily as before anymore
my skin tone is lighter
im still taking vitamin d, zinc and vitamin a. i don't know if these vitamins are really doing anything for my mild bacne or even my face. altho
