Since my last blog entry I have only been suffering with acne in the corner of my forehead. I get small bumps on my jawline but nothing major and I treat them with a face mask(as a spot treatment).
My updated skincare routine is as follows:
clearogen cleanser (daily)
pixi glow tonic tone
ole henrikson night treatment
la roche duo and H moisturiser
Sunday riley artemis (amazing oil but hurts my bank account)
Products I use sparingly:
Another day, another dollar. I'm currently at work on a Friday afternoon and thought hmmm I haven't updated my "blog" in a while. Obviously when we have a breakout, we jump onto google/acne.org in the hopes of finding an answer. I'm just going to paste my skincare routine from my prev blog entry & then add some notes. This is less boring then reading paragraphs.
Just to update you though, my acne has now shifted from my cheeks (relieved not to have to deal with constant cysts) -
Hey guys, long time no speak. I can't believe it's been nearly 6 months since I posted on here. So I want to get straight into it. Here's an updated skin routine then I'll go into some details, some things have changed some haven't. Here goes: AM acne.org cleanser ACV toner Cetaphil moisturiser Smashbox Light Primer....makeup etc PM - post make up removal acne.org cleanser clearogen cleanser ACV toner La Roche Posey Effaclar Duo+ Cetaphil with a drop of EPO Spot treatments (sparingly) sudocr
So since we last spoke (I spoke you read) I felt as though clearogen was being way too harsh on my skin so I made some changes. I'll go into my current routine later on.
On Friday I had an appointment with a new derm... He told me my acne is probably genetic (even though it's clearly around my jawline and was caused by Yasmin one would think its hormonal hmmm). We did speak for about 45mins (my apologies to the people waiting for their appointment after me). He suggested roaccutane t
So after seeking a second opinion from my trusted GP he advised not to go on Accutane next week. I explained to him that all the listed side effects I currently experience so imagine what it would do to me... I get flaking skin (which has calmed down since coming off epiduo), dry lips, joint pain and not to mention a stressful job. I Know I know Im scared and trying to talk myself out of going through.
Funnily enough in the past month my skin has really started to clear. I'll post my curren
So last week I went to the derm. I went with no make up, I figured I could hop in and out of my car so I wouldn't need to see anyone.
As I predicted my skin wouldn't be looking too bad so I kept a photo diary for the month leading up to my appointment. She took a look at the photos and we decided roaccutane would be the best route. I've done a lot of research for the past year so I feel like I'm ready.
I'll probably post a new entry at the end of jan which is when my first appointment is
I've named today day 0 because tomorrow is my first visit to a hospital derm.
Now the bit that I always find a bore so I'll keep it quick. I've had acne since I was about 15. But not the kind I have now. I used to get pimples and cysts on the forehead only.
I went in various contraceptive pills to get rid of it. About a year ago I went to my GP and she prescribed Yasmine - Yasmin is the reason I have the acne I have today - all over my cheeks, jawline and chin. It did however get rid of any
