Starting My 3Rd Month With Results! On Acctane!

I've seen quite a few changed since starting Accutane in November (which i've posted about on this blog). But right now, I can say for sure and with confidence that my back, neck, and chest are CLEAR of body acne and have been for at least a month now. I used to get pretty bad body acne and POOF it's gone! And my face is looking awesome! I feel really good about it! I have no new pimple right now. I can't remember a time when I didn't have at least one giant cystic pimple on my face. I hope I do

Getting Closer To 2 Full Months On Accutane

I'm pretty much just writing this blog so that any one considering Accutane has a better idea of what they might expect. I know I wanted as much information as I could get before and after going on in. I was recommended it when I was 16 or 17 i think, nearly 10 years ago. I don't think it is safe to go on Accutane that young because your body is still developing, there is a lot going on hormonally, as well as socially and mentally. I waited until I had tried many other options before my doctor c

4 Weeks Into Accutane

Well, I have not seen any miracles yet. Just a lot of OTHER changes. I feel like the medicine is prolonging the stay of the blemish actually. Like it's taking longer to heal up. My face is not really too dry or flaky. It peels a little here an there on my face, but the real craziness is on my hands, fingers, and arms. Basically when the old blemish is almost healed up it turns into a giant scab with flaky skin around. I peel it right off. So that's not bad. I am still continuing to get acne. As

What Happens 2 Weeks After Beginning Accutane...

Different products and management systems work differently for different people. So I don't want anyone to think that Accutane will affect them the same way its affecting me. That being said, my skin became progessively more peely in random areas and now it has stopped. All within this past week. The only peeling areas are around the area where my blemishes are, which makes them look more prominent. My scalp has become incredibley dry and itchy. I think that the skin is peeling up there. But lik

Over A Week In...

My skin is peely and my lips feel a little funny. Make up isn't really doing me much of a favor. I have a photoshoot in 2 days. I'm hoping the peeling subsides a little before this. The make up artists can certainly cover my marks and bumps (although I wish this wasn't an issue to begin with). But the peeling will be difficult to cover up! Oh well. I've tried a lot of products but i'll share what has worked best for me over the years. None of these have eliminated by acne but have made it a litt

Why I Decided To Go On Accutane

I finally decided to go on Isotretinoin AKA Accutane after 10 years of my dermatologist telling me I should. I was wary for all the obvious reasons. I was also a pretty unruly teen with a lot of emotions going on to begin with. I waited until I tried every possible option, which I have. I have done every thing- every topical, every antibiotic, every clear skin diet, over the counter, prescription, cleanse, skin care line, drug store product, designer-brand product, dermabrasion, peels....you nam
