Accutane At 37 - Post 3

Well hi! It's been about 2 1/2 weeks (17 days) since I started accutane, and things continue to change in the skin department. The dreaded INITIAL BREAKOUT has yet to rear her ugly head! My skin is smoother in general - the texture has improved so much - and while I've gotten a couple pimples here and there, they have all been the whitehead variety that come on quickly, pop, and are gone. The dry patches that are left behind do cause a real "situation" for me cause I'm a picker... Big dryy

Accutane At 37 - Post 2

Ok, so I can see some real changes in my skin's texture... It's definitely drying out. After I wash it there are little flakes all over (nothing crazy), especially around where I have bumps drying out and going away. I just really gently scratch it away with my fingernail and it's fine. I am using Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser to wash and Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer to moisturize (obviously) twice a day. I sometimes don't use moistturizer in the morning because it makes my makeup more slip

Accutane At 37

Hi! I am a 37 years old and just started taking accutane (actually the generic Myorisan) 7 days ago. I'm pretty nervous, but am hoping this works! Here's a little of my "skin history." I've never had SEVERE acne, but I have had persistent moderate acne for my entire adult life. During jr high and high school I definitely had pimples, but nothing more or less than what other kids had. I didn't LOVE my skin, but I didn't hate it, either.
