There's this thing for acne called face mapping that tells you why you're getting acne based on the location of your pimples. I've heard that what you're putting on your skin is only about half of the solution to acne. I've also heard that eating certain food isn't scientifically proven to cause or cure acne. I have to say that this actually helped with my acne. I use to have a lot of pimples on my forehead and now I only have one blemish in that area. This area cleared up in a week!!! I was looking up face mapping on the Internet and decided to give it a try. Why not? What was there to loose? I wasn't paying for any products that could ruin my skin even more. I started to drink 8 cups of ice cold water everyday and it really helped with my skin. The combination of taking care of the inside of my body as well as my skin really helped to clear my skin.If anyone wants to check it out an informative website is: http://www.skinacea.com/acne/acne-face-map.html
I've tried almost everything on the market for acne. Only a few products have helped my acne even if it was for a period of time. I've even tried the proactive plus line thinking it was more gentle than the original formula. I used the products for 3 months only for my skin to respond with becoming chapped, dry, flaky and my acne becoming more severe. I thought that after the redness and patchy skin my skin would become more clear. I was wrong. It took my skin about a month or two to heal by not using any products. After that I began to see a dermatologist and was prescribed oral medication as well as clindamycin phosphate topical solution and epiduo. My skin did start to clear up but also was really red. I switched epiduo to duac only to stay red. So my derm thinks I have a sensitivity to benzoyl peroxide. More recently I walked into a lush store to get a mask. The lady there found products for acne prone/oily skin and sampled the products on my skin. So I bought the lush mask of magnaminty, herbalism cleanser and enzymion moisturizer. Now my skin routine consists of: twice a week applying the mask, using the herbalism cleanser, applying the Dickinsons witch hazel toner, applying the clindamycin phosphate solution and after that dries using the enzymion moisturizer. My skin is improving and has become less red to a more pinky shade. It hasn't even been a whole month yet either so I hope this helps me.
I've dealt with acne since I was 11, basically for 4 years. I remember when it started off with 1 pimple turning into 5 then soon enough my whole face. My whole face is red, it has calmed down more recently, with clogged pores, hyper pigmentation, black heads, white heads and pimples. What's weird is my left side of my face has pimples than my right. Does anyone know the reason for that? On occasion I'll get a cyst on my chin or cheek. It's been a struggle trying to clear my skin. A lot of products make my acne worse and when I find a good product it only works for so long. I guess you could say my acne fluctuates. I've been to a dermatologist and been prescribed several things. I have noticed an improvement even if it isn't a huge difference. I stopped taking my pills orally as well as switching epiduo to duac ( I don't know if that's what it's called) . I had to stop using duac because of the redness it was causing. Naturally my skin is pretty pink but the benzoyl peroxide really made my skin red. I think my skin is sensitive as well as acne prone and oily. How do you know if your skin is sensitive anyways?
