Well I have not really had much changes in my skin, it is still better then it has been no large scaring ones on my back, and all the bumps I had on my forehead for yrs that did nothing finally came to a little black head or just a sore bump that went away. My skin is dry but not unbearable. I am still using all the same products. Things that I have noticed since my last post.
My eyes are getting worse for dryness, really annoying actually, they feel tired ALL the time. (but I also know I am not drinking as much water as I should be).
My hair has lost it's beautiful shine, (tear), it is really dry. Not breaking dry but I probably wouldn't have to wash it for a whole week if I didn't want to. So I still leave it for as long as possible and then when I have time I soak it in jojoba oil. Hoping to help it out.
The last thing that I actually am going to talk to the Dr. about next time, my body aches are almost unbearable. My shoulders are so sore they hurt to lie on. I went to play volleyball the other night, which I have done for my whole life and my shoulders hurt so bad I couldn't even do anything, like the muscle was really weak. My feet are also really hurting. I am not sure if this has anything to do with accutane, but I have never had shoulder problems in my live.
other then those I am still looking forward to the end result! I hope every one else is having luck with Accutane.
All my major fears are out the door now. I have survived my first 30 days and am doing good. Some days I feel I wake up and my skin is more even than ever, and others it is the same. My head is not itchy any more and just in the last week I have noticed I do not need to wash it as often. Still before I am washing my hair I am soaking in jojoba oil, just to stay on top of any drying that may occur. I have had a few large pimples appear but nothing I feel are to unbearable. Although I am a bit nervous now they have upped my dosage to 50mg, and just in the last week I have had a few more pimples appear at one time. So I may not be in the clear of a really bad initial breakout. Well see. Other things in the last few days my nose peels like I read, but I did not really think it would peel off like a sunburn or something. It is so strange how layers just leave. Also my black heads (and this is in detail) all started to sort of push out I guess, I could see all the white come out and almost feel them if I dragged my finger on them lightly. A lot of black heads have pushed themselves out though, so that is also hopeful. My eyes are not bothering me as bad as they were either, that is a plus as well. I am also not feeling as agitated as I was so maybe it was not the accutane.
I will just quickly list the products I am using again if people do not want to go back and read my other blog.
skinceutical gentle cleanser
Avene hydrance optimale, (amazing)
Avene moisture mask
Also if I am really dry have mixed vegetable glycerine with water and spray on my face or body if I am feeling really dry.
witch hazel astringent
and so far my normal makeup is doing alright, although I usually avoid my nose because throughout the day it is peeling.
For my body I am using whatever lotions I come by but have not been moisturizing like crazy and haven't seemed really dry.
lips still hemp seed oil while out and aquaphor while around the house.
Things seem to be going good so far, I am still terrified waiting for my initial breakout.
Effects so far.....
My eyes feel burning tired all the time, which I have now had two people think I was about to cry.
My forehead was really itchy the end of day 6 and when I used my regular shampoo it stung a bit, so went and bought Cliniderm. It says is is specialized for sensitive, allergic, reactive or dry scalp! So hope that will help with the itchy head. Also bought aveeno naturals moisturizing conditioner. I also do plan on soaking my hair every few days in jojoba oil to hopefully ward off dandruff. I was wondering if people get their hair died at salons on accutane and how their heads hold up?
My face has been dry, nothing unbearable but enough that foundation doesn't sit great. I used vegetable glycerine diluted with water one night and no peeling the next day. It is definitely sticky, but I do plan on spraying that on my whole body to help. Another product I found was Avene Hydrotherapy. It is for sensitive, dry skin, due to many different reasons. I bought the soothing moisture mask and got a sample of the hydrance cream which seems great. Cetophil started to sting my face so I stopped using it. Also have Dormer 211 on order, which I read a lot about from people on here. I do not have any breaking out yet, wondering how it starts? If you just wake up one day and it's there. If you have bumps on your face which I always do, do these come out? I am just praying because I do not have cystic acne that I do not get them.
Also wondering about getting nails done? I do gel nails and had a nightmare the other day I did mine and my hands erupted with bubbles and red burns. Didn't even think about a nail light till that evening.
So please if anyone reads this and can answer some questions that would be awesome.
Oh and on a side note, I do believe I have a little less patients. It is like I am pregnant again.
Well I am thinking maybe I am on here to much! I have apparently become an accutane addict.
Here goes another one.
I went to the health food store today and purchased jojoba oil, which nearly made me faint at the cost of a 500ml bottle $60. At this point though I am not concerned, just want to keep as many side effects as possible at bay. Also I found vegetable glycerine which I was looking into and found it is actually good for acne and hair and a million different things and the cost of a 473 mL bottle was $17. The cream I was told to use was galaxal base and it does make my face feel nice, but doesn't seem to stop the peeling skin. So today I bought the cetaphil which everyone seems to like. I have not had nasal problems yet but have purchased some gel incase. Also my lips still seem to be good but when I am out I am using hemp seed oil, and when I am home I am using aquaphor. On a side note...I have always kept lip moisturizer of some kind around me at all times so applying is not a problem for me.
Day 6 effects so far my face is peeling around my nose and chin, nothing extreme but enough that I could not where my foundation last night when we had a dinner to go to. My nose is super itchy and just this am I noticed my head is itchy. Purchased Biotin as well for my hair i read people think it helped their hair. I have long, shinny, nice hair and am a bit paranoid of what is going to happen to it. Thank goodness it is sunday I plan on jojoba oiling my head an leaving it for awhile. Also going to leave my face alone today cleansed and creamed this am, but don't want to over moisturize because I know this is part of the process. Tonight I do plan on putting the vegetable glycerine on it. If anyone else has tried this let me know I am curious how it is as I haven't read a lot of people talk about it. Also I have been trying to force myself to drink as much water as I can!
I am feeling very tired today, which does not happen to me very often not sure if I didn't have a good sleep or if it is accutane. Anyone out there feel tired around day 5?
I have been loadin on my lip product since I started so have yet to see dry lips. Eyes have been fine today. Washed my face last night and put galaxalbase on it as it is starting to dry up. Wasn't greasy at all this morning. So I am getting a little nervous if my face is already this dry. Do people use aquaphor on their whole face or just lips?
Woke up with very dry eyes and are pretty dry all day. Going tonight for drops! They are not unbearably dry just slightly noticeable. My face is just starting to dry up.
Also worried about dandruf as I have black hair. Going to get a moisture oil for my head.
I am a 29 year old mother of 4, who has had constant acne for as long as I can remember. Nothing that I ever felt was unbearable or that would change what I did in my day to day life. After my fourth child, which was a boy, I ended up with hormonal scaring acne in the middle of my back. He is now two and I am still getting this acne so I decided to make an appt with a dermatologist. After speaking with her she let me know that i apparently have every type of acne, blackheads, whiteheads, cystic, hormonal, i didn't realize it was that bad, lol! All of these were mild other than my back that was really starting to affect what clothing I would wear. She said the best bet for me was accutane, which I was very hesitant about. After speaking with her, she said I would no longer have acne after the treatment and it shouldn't be to hard because mine is all mild. The thought of not having blackheads was unreal to me because I thought it was because of my large pores, but I guess not. Like I said before my acne really didn't bother me terribly but it was there so the thought of not having it was unreal!
I am really looking forward to the end result after dealing with mild acne my whole life. However I am getting really nervous as I am on day 3 of my 40mg pills. I should probably stay off the internet as what ever happens will happen. So if anyone out there has mild acne and has been on this PLEASE let me know how your treatment went! I keep seeing all these crazy initial breakouts and I am nervous for mine because my face has never been that bad.
Also I life in Canada so anyone that could help with any type of must haves that would be so great!
On a side note day 3 I am not noticing anything!
