I have severe acne all over my cheeks, shoulders, and a little bit on my chest.
I did try the regimen and after 8 weeks it really did improve my face, but still left me with noticeable acne and i knew the moment that i stopped applying the creams that my acne would just come back really bad, so i just wanted to finally clear off my acne and not have to spend everyday worrying and thinking about it.
Begginging of June 2012 I started on roaccutane 20mg and then at the begginging of July started to take 40mg each day. I'm still taking 40mg each day and I am now on day 108.
Unfortunately my face still looks like a big, angry pepperoni pizza. In the first month my skin stayed at a constant level with a generous serving of spots, nothing i hadn't experienced before but within the second month my cheeks just exploded with these thick cysts and papules. Today i still have the same situation and level of spots.
It's very dissapointing as when i looked into roaccutane/ accutane/ isotretinoin, many reviews said that people saw an improvement within the first month or so, which i have still yet to experience any improvement. Hopefully they will begin to smooth out and go soon though. If anyone else has the same problem as me and having their acne just worsen and stay bad for 4 months into roaccutane, you are not alone and i hope your acne clears up soon as well.
As far as side effects go I have the usual e.g. dry lips, mouth, eyes and i get the odd muscle and joint pain here and there but nothing i can't deal with, and of course the constant frustration of having bad acne and the roaccutane not working as well as I or my doctor expected.
