Today marks Day V after my 25% TCA Peel.
My forehead, cheeks, temples, and chin all peeled off with sheets of dead skin.
I have some peeling still occuring along my jawline, nose, and temples.
One lesson learned: next time that I do this, I will use a cotton ball with alcohol to remove any excess oil. I think that this would have made the peel even more effective. I did this last year, but forgot this year.
Overall, I am very pleased with the results. I went out last night for the first time in four days and enjoyed getting out of the house!
I look like a normal human being again!
My goal with these peels is to maximize the production of collagen within my skin and to minimize the appearance of any acne scars which remain.
Ninety-five percent of my face has now peeled.
Both my left and right cheek came off in sheets.
My forehead peeled completely later this afternoon along with my chin.
My nose has yet to peel, but I'm sure that it will do so eventually.
I have some brown skin along my jaw line and need to shave.
Yesterday, I looked like a weathered homeless person - leathery face and unshaven.
This evening, I look pretty much normal and will venture out of our home for the first time since Saturday; I've been sequestered in the house for too long!
I woke up this morning and my face felt very, very tight as if I were wearing a tight mask.
I went into our bathroom and, Voila, the peeling had begun.
I look like a snake losing its skin or an onion with several layers coming off.
In my opinion, a 25% TCA peel is the most effective way to exfoliate the outer layers of dead skin.
TCA is also know for its collagen development properties, so I'm hoping that it will help my overall complexion as well.
I just noticed that my skin is begining to peel around the right nasio-labial part of my face.
This is where my face began to peel last summer when I did my first TCA 25% peel.
I am hoping to see massive peeling over the course of the next 48 hours - time will tell.
I'm getting a bit stir crazy being confined to the interior of our home. I'm ready to get out into public and do something!
I just woke up from a two hour nap.
My face is now beginning to itch and feels very tight.
My wife told me that my face was beginning to look a bit 'leathery' and 'wrinkly'. Aquaphor has become my best friend right now.
I won't be able to shave for about three or four more days. Can you say, 'Unshaven Grunge'? I sort of look like a weathered homeless person.
The skin on my forehead is very tight and I'm fairly confident that I will begin to peel in the next 24-48 hours much like I did last year.
My goal is to deveop as much collagen from this process as possible.
Can't wait to see the final results! I will definitely post photos.
My face looks brown and shiny.
The skin on my face is getting progressively tighter and tighter.
I am hoping that it will peel like a snake which was my experience last year.
It's raining today and I have the week off from work to recover. I had my fourth round of subcision in December of 2011 and it was very successful. The results on my left cheek were AMAZING!!!!
Hopefully, the TCA will help with the collagen remodeling process.
My face looked as if I had a sunburn and was very shiny due to the Aquaphor.
No pain but I'm definitely staying indoors away from the sunshine.
Helped my wife in the garden after sundown. Washed fash and applied Aquaphor again.
Can't shave so I'm looking a bit rough......
Day One - June 9, 2012
Applied a 25% TCA solution to my face after washing my face thoroughly and shaving.
This time, I wore goggles on my face as I almost got the acid in my right eye last year when the acid began to drip down my face.
I applied three layers and the burning began about 30 seconds or so after applying the solution.
Let a portable fan run on my face for about 10 minutes. Ouch!
Applied Aquaphor and went to bed.
