So it has been a month. I have been really busy and stressed with family and work hence the lack of updates. Current Condition Some nodules have popped up. Skin is dry on jawline. PIH is pretty bad at this point It is almost the time of the months for me that could be one of the reasons. I also have skipped some applications. Basically, I have slacked. I am a little worried that I will not follow through. I am still trying to get as much veggies as possible in although it has proved to be a challenge. Avoiding milk and citrus has not been going well. Fruit smoothie has become and occasional thing. Still religiously using the neem soap for my body. I think that has been going ok.

Diet/ Holistic Probiotics as usual. Had an apple again. DId not get in as much veggies as I wanted. I have been having quite a bit of breads and muffins lately just because its convenient. I also have had a bit of cheese. Face Still flaking on jawline and oily everywhere else. I have quite a few spots coming up on the area behind my ear near my hairline. So i am extending the treatment there as well until it gets better. I am getting frustrated with the hard nodules which refuse to come to a head. Diet/ Holistic Probiotics as usual. Had an apple this morning. Managed to get in 5 servings of veg and fruit today. Had green tea as well. Still haven't figured out smoothie plan yet. Face Still flaking on jawline. Not as tight anymore but really shiny and oily. Forehead is very smooth except for scars and healing spots. Have pretty big new inflamed spot near my left ear. Week 3 Update

Products Cleanser: Laneige Pore Clear Cleansing Foam BP: Benzac AC 5% Moisturiser: Rosken Dry Skin Cream Sunscreen: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF 55 AHA: Apha Hydrox Enchanced Lotion In week 3 I have been consistently using all the products above day and night except sunscreen. Routine Night Cleanse BP AHA Mositurize Morning Cleanse BP AHA Moisturize Sunscreen(only sometimes)-avoiding to test if they are clogging my pores Holistic/Diet 2 weeks+ into the Probiotics and fruit&veg smoothies Not been consistent on the smoothie and veggie intake. I need to make this a priority. Aiming for higher water intake and consistent bowel movement. Trying to up my intake of veggies as well. Avoiding dairy as much as I can. I have been considering if citrus fruits affect my acne because I don't take citrus fruits much except one type of lime occasionaly in drinks. Plus I am allergic to the oils from the skin of one type of orange. However, I was taking mandarin oranges a lot over the 2 weeks of chinese new year. My bad breakout seems to coincide with that. Will try to work out some plan to test that out. Overall current skin condition I have had some pustules coming up on my forehead but they go away fast. I still have nodules on my chin and jawline but they are smaller. However they don't seem to be going away completely. Cheeks I have had some breakouts but they cleared up nicely pretty fast and never really became inflamed. Overall, my skin is a lot dryer this week and I have worse flaking this week on my chin and jawline. Skin feels tight overall. I suppose the BP is really taking into effect now drying up my skin. I'm not too concerned about it as it is not too obvious. In addition, my skin is very oily on the Tzone area. I blot at least twice a day. I have noticed clogged pores on my forehead, nose and cheeks more. I've never really had clogged pores that bad before. Not sure if its the AHA bringing it out or the products I'm using clogging it. If it is the products it can only be the moisturizer or the sunscreen as the others I've been using a long time.

Diet/ Holistic Probiotics as usual. No fruit or smoothie this morning. I'm worried because I seem to be slacking off on this. What's more is I will probably go to office earlier from now on. I need to figure out a plan! I am trying to compensate with veggies but not doing well on that either. Face Face flaking a lot on my jawline. Overall skin feels tight especailly after regimen in the morning. Not so much at night for some reason. I have decided to put on moisturiser twice at night to try to overcome the flaking. Day 16 - Probiotics, Day 21- Bp & Neem, Day 16 Fruit Smoothie

Diet/ Holistic Probiotics as usual. Woke up late again because my phone died so no alarm clock. Again got less veggies yesterday. No smoothie either today but I did have at least 2 servings of papaya this morning. Will try my best to get my veggies in today. Face Face is the same still flaking on jawline and chin. Skin feels tight although I did use moisturiser today but less of it I suppose. My eyes are actually feeling dry as well. Possible BP? Trying to see if it makes a difference in oil production on my T-zone. I have decided to try to avoid sunscreen for a week and see if the clogged pores go away. Day 15 - Probiotics, Day 20- Bp & Neem, Day 15 Fruit Smoothie

Diet/ Holistic Probiotics as usual. No smoothie as I had terrible sleep and slept in. BM hasn't been great. I think I slacked on water intake over the weekend like I usually do. I also got less fiber in fruits and veggies over the weekend. Face Face is the same still flaking slightly on jawline and chin. T-zone is very oily. I am now wondering if tis the moisturizer that's clogging my pores? Or the sunscreen? but its pretty bad. Now Im not sure if I should continue using them and see how it goes or get new products to try out. I've never had such terrible clogged pores before. This is making me reluctant to use sunscreen and moisturiser which I need. Day 14 - Probiotics, Day 19- Bp & Neem, Day 14 Fruit Smoothie

Diet/ Holistic Probiotics as usual. No smoothie. Diet wise have been slipping. Had a little milk on thursday, over the weekend, had junk food, really salty food, sugared drinks, soy based foods. I did try to take a glass of fiber drink only got through a third of it though. Its disgusting! Face Still flaking slightly on jawline and chin. T-zone is very oily. I'm going easy on the moisturiser on that area. I noticed really bad clogged pores on my Tzone and cheeks. I've never had it so bad before. I'm not sure if its the AHA bringing them out or if something in my regimen is clogging them. But its disgusting to see white stuff in your pores. Breaking out quite a bit on forehead and around my nose area possibly due to excess oil? Not too sure. Or could be the diet. The weird thing is, my skin feels really smooth when you touch it. Day 13 - Probiotics, Day 18- Bp & Neem, Day 13 Fruit Smoothie

Diet/ Holistic Probiotics as usual. Had a quarter of a medium sized papaya. No smoothie today though. Had a very salty meal for lunch. I am trying to get myself to drink green tea at least once a day. Face Still flaking slightly on jawline and chin. Skin in that area feels dry when I woke up. T-zone was oily as usual. Day 12 - Probiotics, Day 17- Bp & Neem, Day 12 Fruit Smoothie

Diet/ Holistic Probiotics as usual. Had a papaya, watermelon and cucumber smoothie. Did not have any veggies for dinner Went for dinner with my dad. Was not sleepy in the afternoon yesterday! Increasing water intake is going well. I am also reducing white rice and processed carbs like noodles. I usually have rice at least once a day so I am cutting it down to less and increasing veggies. Back Had an inflamed pustule on my back near my neck. I popped it. Bad habit. Attacked it with BP and AHA. Decided to use some BP and AHA on my back where I generally break out as well. I really should use AHA on my back more often to help the red marks. Face Still flaking on jawline and chin. Pustules on forehead are still there but its hardly visible. I noticed some whiteheads and stuff clogging my pores are more visible now as in they are coming out of the pores naturally. So I decided to exfoliate to help remove them last night. I noticed that my skin feels plump and hydrated except for my jawline. I think the moisturizer is going well with my skin. Really happy about that. Face is pretty pink today. A little itchy and tingly after regimen. Wondering if its because of my exfoliation last night making skin more sensitive. Day 11 - Probiotics, Day 16 - Bp & Neem, Day 10 Fruit Smoothie

Diet/ Holistic Probiotics as usual. Had a papaya, watermelon and cucumber smoothie. Had a lot of veggies yesterday! Was a little sleepy in the afternoon yesterday. But not as much as I used to. Next thing to work on is water intake. Face Still flaking on jawline and chin. Face seems a little more red than usual. But maybe its because I did not use sunscreen today because I was in a hurry? I think the sunscreen helps to cover up a bit of the redness anyways. Have a few pustules today on my forehead. Not too worried about it as they will probably go away in a day or 2. Day 10 - Probiotics, Day 15 - Bp & Neem, Day 9 Fruit Smoothie

Diet/ Holistic Probiotics as usual. Had a papaya, banana and cucumber smoothie. Did not have as much veggies as I wanted to yesterday as I had an unplanned dinner with my brother and his girlfriend and wasn't too healthy food. I also only had one serving of veggies for lunch. I noticed I have BM at least once a day now which is great as I used to not have it everyday. For the first time yesterday I did not feel sleepy in the afternoon. Maybe I am doing something right? or maybe it was just a one off thing. Face The skin along my jawline is starting to flake. Not too bad still manageable. I have decided to attack it with AHA and moisturiser. Hopefully it clears up. I notice I wake up with very oily skin.My forehead generally gets oilier faster. Even during the day I have to blot off the oil at least twice. My days are generally 9-7 working hours at the moment. But I don't really mind it. I figure its better than dry flaky skin. Week 2 Update

So its 2 weeks since I started my version of the Regimen. Just wanted to make a seperate 2 week update in addition to the daily log. Products Cleanser: Laneige Pore Clear Cleansing Foam BP: Benzac AC 5% Moisturiser: Rosken Dry Skin Cream Sunscreen: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF 55 AHA: Apha Hydrox Enchanced Lotion During these 3 weeks I did use a couple of other products like a toner, and a different cleanser on one or 2 days. But for the most part I have been consistently using the products above. Routine Night Cleanse BP AHA (not every day) Mositurize(only when needed) Morning Cleanse BP Moisturize Sunscreen I haven't been doing the same every day I just follow it as much as I can. Holistic/Diet 1 week into the Probiotics and fruit&veg smoothies I am not sure how much this has affected my skin, but my skin is definitely better Overall current skin condition My forehead is clearing up nicely I only have some small pustules coming up once in awhile but they aren't very obvious and go away within 2 days. My chin and jawline is less inflamed as the nodules have shrunk but I can still feel them under the skin. not quite sure what to do with them as I think they won't go away just like that. My cheeks are pretty clear. My nose area is pretty much as it was not much going on but I have a few whiteheads which are pretty bad near my nose. They were there before I started the regimen and hasn't gone away yet. Overall, I have dryed scabs on my face, I think once they come off, I will be pretty clear. My skin in general feels smoother as in the texture is a lot nicer than it was before. Again not sure if this is because of the Regimen or the probiotics but I'll take it. I am a little pinkish still. Not sure if it is the BP or just healthy glow to be honest. Some dry patches along my jawline and between my brows. Other than that, I haven't had very dry or flaky skin at all. I think the real test will be to wait for my next hormonal period ie. next period. As I do tend to break out a lot then.

Day 9 - Probiotics, Day 14 - Bp & Neem, Day 8 Fruit Smoothie

Diet/ Holistic Probiotics as usual. Had a papaya, banana and cucumber smoothie. I cut off the cucumber skin this time as I found it to be too fibrous for my liking. I am probably cutting out half the fiber from the drink but oh well. I am having a bun which has cream in it this morning. I don't know how my skin will react to the dairy. I am not intentially cutting dairy completely. I am just avoiding milk and being more aware of other products containing dairy. I am consciously trying to eat healthy but still not overdoing it. I simply choose the healthier options to what I usually eat. I am trying to eat at least 2 different vegetables with every meal. I figure I am getting more fiber and antioxidants in this way in addition to the fruit smoothies. Face Had a lot of sleep last night but still feel tired. I realised I tend to fall asleep a lot earlier now. The skin along my jawline is dry. They feel rough to the touch. I have very little to no flaking so far. My face overall looks quite healthy if you don't take into account the breakouts. Face looks tan in certain areas but my cheeks seem to be pinkish. It isn't red though. Day 8 - Probiotics, Day 13 - Bp & Neem, Day 7 Fruit Smoothie

Diet/ Holistic Cut down the probiotics to one per day before breakfast. As per the directions. Had a papaya and cucumber smoothie added some apple juice to it as it was very bland. It kind of coagulated a little after 2 hours. Not very pleasant to drink. The papaya isn't very ripe as I put it in the fridge before it was time. Face Did not have enough sleep and I was extremely distressed last night. Hope it won't affect my skin too much. Feeling slightly better today. Skin is dry between my eyebrows. Other than that, my skin gets very oily after a few hours. I have to consciously pat the oil off otherwise I look like a greaseball. It is a little hard as I am touching my skin less, so I don't really know when my face is oily. Popped one of the big cystic acne on my chin. It has been there about 2 weeks, it shrinks but doesn't go away and if it is irritated it gets inflamed. Finally popped it and hopefully it will heal properly and go away now. Day 7 - Probiotics, Day 12 - Bp & Neem, Day 6 Fruit Smoothie

Diet/ Holistic Did not have my fruit smoothie as I was in a rush. Have decided to put the fiber on a hold before I decide what to do/find an alternative. Face Skin is breaking out as I said, even my back and chest is breaking out like one or two. I think it could be due to stress as I am pretty stressed about my job situation. Day 6 - Probiotics, Day 11 - Bp & Neem, Day 5 Fruit Smoothie , Day 4 - Fiber

Diet/Holistic I forgot to take the probiotics before breakfast today. I had them after. Have not had my fruit smoothie yet as I am out of fruits. I only have bananas. Planning on grocery shopping a little later. *Update: got my fruits and veggies. Had a carrot, cucumber and banana smoothie. Very fibrous but not too bad. I also got papaya for later on and zucchinis for my meals this weekend. Face Face is itching like crazy! now! I am trying not to scratch but its terrible!!!! It started after I put on the toner. I have used the toner with this regimen before and had no issues. I have no idea what's different this time. I suddenly have a few red spots under my eyes. They don't look like zits and I don't break out so close to my eyes anyways. Not sure if its an allergic reaction. I have been breaking out quite a bit the past 2 days. Currently its the edges of my face that is pretty bad from my hairline, the sides of my face and my chin. My chin is the worst. On the side of my face I have a lot of red marks from old acne and some scabs from healing ones. I am breaking out on my cheeks near my nose a bit as well although they aren't very noticeable as they aren't very inflamed. Day 4 - Probiotics, Day 9 - Bp & Neem, Day 3 Fruit Smoothie , Day 2 - Fiber

Diet/Holistic DId not take the fiber drink today as I only plan to take it every other day. In terms of BM, twice yesterday. Which is more than usual for me but we will see how it goes for the following days. Had a banana and watermelon smoothie for breakfast. Had another watermelon and mandarin orange smoothie before lunch as well. I have been making an effort to avoid milk. Not dairy in its entirety just milk. I do have dairy in terms of cheese although pretty rarely and also occasionally chocolate. Have been having pretty healthy dinners the past 2 days cooked by myself. Face Face is still slightly red and dry but no flaking unless I irritate my skin. The Rosken cream seems to be working quite well. My skin doesn't seem to have a bad reaction to it. Day 3 - Probiotics, Day 8 - Bp & Neem, Day 2 Fruit Smoothie , Day 1 - Fiber

Diet/Holistic Tried the fiber drink by adding it to my smoothie. Found it to be very hard to comsume as it would thicken up as I was drinking it and it was very sweet which tasted very artificial. Might not continue with this or try just using half a pack to see how it goes tomorrow. If all else fails, I will try my best to get fiber pills. Had a banana, watermelon and mandarin orange smoothie for breakfast and one after lunch as well. Thinking twice a day might be a bit much. Great to get in 5 servings of fruit though. I am sure I am having more than my 5 servings a day with this Face Face is still slightly red and dry Last Night Cleanse BP (fell asleep before other things got done) This Morning Cleanse BP AHA - only on spots Moisturize Sunscreen *Seriously considering ordering the Regimen products but the shipping poses an issue. I need to find out how much it would cost plus which delivery service is used. As I have issues receiving the items I order online as I am usually never home.

History With Acne

History Acne started at 9. Wasn't too concerned about it then. I am not sure why but didn't seem like a big deal then. Regret it now.
I also have some back acne mostly I have a few at a time but can be pretty big.
For me it is hereditary to some point. My dad and brother had bad acne. All of us have ice pick scarring as well from it. My brother pretty much cleared up when he hit his late teens to 20s.
It is also hormonal for me I believe as my hormones aren't really balanced. I have had irregular menstruation all my life. It is at least normalizing a little now after 13 years.
Have not been completely clear at any point since I was 9 I am now 24 going on 25.

Treatments I've tried various drugstore products
antibiotics - 2 different types one of them doxycycline which worked ok but didn't make me clear. I got clear enough at one point that my dermatologist stopped the antibiotics and just kept me on the topical treatments.
various topical tratments from dermatologist (I do not know what they were because all of it was repackaged and I never asked.) Heck I was just a kid then.

After I stopped antibiotics, my skin wasn't fully clear it was just better. I got sick of it and stopped going to the dermatologist. I was a patient for at least 5 years. I don't remember exactly.

My acne became pretty bad with cysts and nodules when I was about 19. I tried looking about for things to treat it again. So all this while I've only took medication, skincare products and topical treatments. Nothing remotely holistic or dietary.

Around 2008 I looked up this site and started reading the forums learning a lot.

Things's I've tried since I discovered the site

The Regimen for 3 months - Panoxyl 2.5, Neutrogena Oil- Free Moisturiser, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (read my other blog for a bit of a progress log) didn't particularly work for me so I stopped it.

Apple Cider Vinegar as toner and in water as a drink - did not follow through it for long

Zinc - no results at all for me

After that, I just gave up and just used the Cetaphil cleanser mostly and that was it.

Since then, I have slowly started using other products like toners, exfoliators, moisturisers.

Cleanser - Laneige Pore Deep Clearing Foam (looking for a new cleanser)
Toner - Laneige Pore Trouble Skin Refiner - discontinued
AHA morning only - Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion 10% Glycolic AHA (love this makes my skin so soft)
Weekly
Cure Aqua Gel (exfoliator)

I do use makeup on and off. Not everyday but I just started only recently and it may have some effect on my acne as I am breaking out more currently but concentrated on my chin.

The Newly Added
Daily-Face Benzac 5 - (started 8/2/2012) after 5 days of use it is so much better than Panoxyl. It dries looking matte does not have strong smell unlike Panoxyl. Doesn't dry out my skin too much but does make my skin red noticed (13/2/2012)
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 55 (started 8/2/2012)
Rosken Dry Skin Cream - very small amount occasionally when I feel like my skin is a little dry
CellLabs GI Flora - probiotics (started 13/2/2012)
Apple Phyto Fiber - for the fiber just to try it out. Fiber capsules are pretty rare here. I got what I could. will look for other better fiber supplement
Daily-Body [*]Himalaya Protecting Neem & Turmeric Soap - (started 8/2/2012) Slightly drying but smells good and seems to be working well at drying out my bacne Very excited about this. It was recommended to me by a friend. They also have a similar body wash which should be less drying but my friend said it doesn't work as well. It is also more expensive. They have a neem face wash as well! Hmm I might just try that one my Laneige is used up. No harm I think since it isn't too expensive and seems to work for my bacne.
