i've fussed around w bha on my back for a while now, but have not given it a real shot
i never really thought aha did much for it, though that coudl be for a million reasons
i'm breaking out right now because i'm sick (always happens) but just ordered paula begoun's resist weightless body lotion and, when that arrives, will be trying that on my right side of my back for a few weeks in conjunction with the bp to see what happens
EDIT: my fear in starting anything new on my back is that, because i've made so much progress, i'm scared i will do something to reverse it. logically i understand that i can always go back to my old regimen, but i'm always scared of doing irreparable damage, or even just losing a lot of time i could have had 90-95% clear skin, as i do now.
trying to figure out what could have caused this rather benign-looking but mildly itchy and very red rash
wore new pjs from the thrift store (washed) a few times last week
detergent could have been left over in the machine from someone else's wash 9i can only use "free and clear" kinds)
went swimming saturday
hydrocortisone, zinc, and benadryl seem to be doing very little-- if anything at all, but we'll see!
for the second time, i have this weird rash of tiny red bumps on my inner thighs... weird... wonder if i'm developing an aha reaction... but then why wouldn't it be all over my legs? maybe just cause that's a sensitive area? hmm... is it more sensitive than my bikini line? is it my shaving cream? hmmmmmm
put bha on my back tonight
we'll see what happens
This always seems to happen--
I'll have a breakout in a normal area, and then, as soon as it begins to clear up, I break out in such unfortunate places (Think rear end and breasts. Wondrous.) Lying with bp on my bottom right now. I'm also very dry. Then again, it's muggy out and I'm pmsing, so this may all pass soon enough. Here's to hoping. I'm really feeling blue about my skin today. I just want to be able to pick a dress out for the weekend without having to worry that my skin with go crazy before I get a chance to wear it.
Happy Thursday, all.
Just hopped out of the shower. Squeezed out some ready suckers on my left shoulder blade and applied ACV to the area. That seems to be the worst area right now, but it's only Day 2 and was already the worst before I began the ACV.
I say "worst," but even that is MONUMENTALLY better than what was going on with me before I had my current regimen down.
I'm very tired today, perhaps from stress or perhaps from medication I had to take yesterday because of an infection. Also, I'm particularly dry, and need to really kickstart my new plan to increase my water intake.
Happy Wednesday to all.
I had a log on this site for a few years.
Through it, I have become clearer than I ever thought I could, and have learned so much.
I am hoping now to only improve on what I know.
Some of what I know:
BP once a day on my back
Paula's BHA once a day on my chest
Retin-A once a day on my chin
zinc oxide powder and aha for a whole host of little things, like spot treating
I'm going to try starting applying ACV to the area around and below my left shoulder for 2 weeks, when I wil have a new supply of AHA. At that point, I will continue, but with the AHA. After one month of AHA use, I will evaluate if AHA is helping or hurting my skin, and, if it is helping, if I can slowly begin to decrease my BP use. I do not intend to stop using BP completely at this time.
Also, I intend to take in larger quantities of water throughout the day.
I plan to check in with this blog each night, not necessarily to report on status (which can become tedious and depressing), but rather to keep myself on track with the plan.
Wish me luck.
