Almost Losing Hope

Hey guys, it's been awhile, but that's because my skin was amazingly clear. It was beautiful haha I just feel a little down right now and I wanted to vent. Anyway, my forehead is gross and basically the whole middle of my face is too. :( It's nothing too bad but it's discouraging, you know? My skin was gorgeous for a while, maybe 2-3 months straight, no pimples, no blackheads, barely any redness. I had a random honker right under my eyebrow that ended up scabbing and another one on my chin a week later. Ok, done with being gross. Right now, I'm using pretty much everything recommended by a derm or marketed for sensitive skin. Cetaphil Daily Cleanser Morning and Night Clindimycin lotion Morning and Night Eucerin Daily SPF 30 Face Lotion morning Cetaphil Daily face lotion (occasionally use it because I like ) Cetaphil cream Night i forget the name of if but its a presciption Simple Toner Night Oh, and I'm taking medicine. Derm wanted to lower my dosage since my skin was so clear but I guess I can't. I'm definitely gonna talk to him about this at my next appt., which is in January or February. My skin is awful in the winter Ok, I'm done haha thanks for listening to my nonsense, Steph

Derm Trip #1

Hi! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile but... I went to the dermatologist!! He told me I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin- so much so that I shouldn't be using salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. He also said that I don't have rosacea at all, but the KP on my arms has to do with the redness on my face. He also said I had seborrheic dermatitis, which can happen with acne, so he prescribed me with clindamycin phosphate lotion (for the acne) and ketaconzole cream (for the seborrheic dermatitis). I'm still breaking out a bit but its nothing concealer can't cover I have a big zit right above my eyebrow though My skin care routine has completely changed... so now I'm using: -Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (Day & Night) -Clindamycin phosphate (Day & Night) -Ketaconazole (around my nose in the morning) -Serious Skin Care 10% sulfur treatment (he said I'm allowed to use it ) -Cetaphil Daily Advance Lotion for Dry Sensitive Skin (Day & Night) -Neutrogena Ultra Sheer SPF 30 lotion (Day) I have an appointment in June so... I guess I'll update then ps. If you haven't tried an oatmeal mask yet, it's awesome! haha it gently exfoliates your skin (which I need since I'm not supposed to use any harsh exfoliators like scrubs or glycolics) and calms it down if your skin has been really irritated, red, or dry... Love it Just take a handful of regular oatmeal (not a packet though), put your hand under warm water, and put the wet oatmeal all over your face for 15 minutes

Hey There, Nice To Meet You

Hey guys! This is my first post and I'm kind of new to acne.org since I've only looked through a few message boards and stuff like that Anyway, I'm 14 and my name's Stephanie. I've had acne since I was about 10 and I'm FINALLY going to the dermatologist... in March I break out in the middle of my forehead, the sides of my nose and a little bit out (kind of that "winged out" part hehe), and on my chin (lots of scarring there ) . I'll occasionally get zits on my jaw line, temples (probably about every 2-3 months), and sometimes on my cheeks (but I think it's acne-rosacea). My chin gets clogged really easily (gross!!!) and I get blackheads on my nose (they're little though). I don't get cysts really at all, but I've had 2 or 3 since I started getting pimples. Okay, gross part's over I eat pretty well...mostly organic and it's a pretty balanced diet (fruits and veggies> cookies and cake ) I've tried Neutrogena, Olay (the facial pads when I was younger), Clearasil, a bunch of Clean and Clear, MaxClarity, Paula's Choice (Hydralight system), and Clinique (3-step system). I have really really sensitive skin with rosacea on my cheeks. Anyway this is what I use: AM: Serious Skin Care Continously Clear Daily Ritual Cleanser Triderma MD Facial Redness Repair lotion (only on my cheeks) Serious Skin Care Continously Clear 2% Salicylic Acid pads (only in my t-zone) Serious Skin Care Continously Clear Clearz-it to spot treat (5% Benzoyl Peroxide) Serious Skin Care Emu and Aloe Soothing Facial cream Neutrogena Ultra Sheer SPF 30 and foundation to cover up my redness, pimples, and scarring PM: Clean and Clear makeup remover wipes (only thing I like from them Serious Skin Care Continously Clear Daily Ritual Cleanser used with my Skinsonic (basically same thing as a Clarisonic) and the Sensitive brush head Triderma MD Facial Redness Repair lotion (only on my cheeks again) Serious Skin Care Continously Clear 2% Salicylic Acid pads (only in my t-zone again) Serious Skin Care Emu and Aloe Soothing Facial cream Serious Skin Care Dry-Lo 10% Sulfur spot treatment to get any "honkers" (love this stuff!!) Occasionally: Aveeno Positively Radiant scrub (Sunday and Wednsday nights) Jergens Natural Glow Tan (only when I need it...I'm really pale) Lotss of SSC stuff. I've found it's the only thing that has kept my skin under control. so, yeah Like I said, I'm going to the derma in March (that's the earliest we could get in!) and I'll update when I need to xoxo, Steph
