2 Months After Accutane- Still 100% Clear! Pictures

(2 months after Accutane) Let me just begin this by saying... thank you ACCUTANE!!! if you look at my past blogs (i know i didn't blog much), i was in a lot of despair over my acne. It took accutane about 5 months to really clear up my skin 100%. I have now been off accutane for 2 months. this is a miracle drug. i have had NO acne. no breakouts, not even a single PIMPLE. right now i am reducing the redness of my skin (which my dermatologist says will reduce and it already has been). its not super red, but its not neutral. the best part is i can go around without wearing makeup and i dont feel self conscious. (1 month after accutane) If you are on Accutane right now and feeling discouraged.. I understand. I was in your spot for 5-6 long months. In total, I was on Accutane for 7.5 months. Iwant you to know that accutane works. even on tough cases like mine. If you are considering taking Accutane, I say take it. I was skeptical. it took me years to decide to take accutane. I really didn't have that many side effects and it has changed my life. I am much more confident and I feel prettier with clear skin. PLEASE TAKE ACCUTANE. your skin will improve. And to all those who helped me, encouraged me when I was at my worst moments... thank you for persuading me to stay on the tane. If anyone has any questions on how I managed my acne while on accutane, or what products I used or ANYTHING, please just leave me a comment or shoot me a message. I hope everyone has the same success!! best of luck!!

4 And A Half Months On Accutane... Progress But Nothing Perfect

Unfortunately my process with Accutane has been far from butterflies and happy thoughts... I have now been on 60 ml and I am still not seeing clear skin. I have Accutane for 6 months and thats it, so I thought by now my skin would be relatively clear with no breakouts. Its still generating new pimples and red spots, my face is a lovely shade of red and I keep getting small rash breakouts!! I have been able to not have my lips peel/crack by being OCD over how much Aquaphor I apply. I guess everyone at my work and school now think I have a thing for lip shine;) Other than that, I have already kinda given up on Accutane. My dermatologist even seemed a bit worried that it wasnt working and brought up the possibility of trying for a second course once I get done with this one. Ugh... so frustrating because I've had Acne since sixth grade. I am really really hoping things get better in the next month, I have put some fragile hope on it. I hope everyone else is experiencing good things with their Accutane

Week 8 Accutane

I honestly am starting to give up on Accutane.. I have been on 40mg and my acne hasn't disappeared, it will show up randomly and I keep developing new spots. My doctor raised me to 60mg and thats the highest I am allowed to go on because of my weight (109 pounds). I am 20 years old still stuck with acne and just in a sad place right now with it because I look at all the other girls in my college classes, personal friends and ALL of them have beyond perfect skin. Then there's me and my dry skin, dry lips and still acne face. I know I still have a few months to go but I had been really hoping after two months I would notice a big difference- and I haven't. I have moderate acne and it is still moderate acne. Side effects wise I have dry lips(but no cracks, I apply Cetaphil religiously), dry eyes, and dry skin. I also had a rash but my dermatologist gave me a cream that got rid of it. I hope everyone is having a good experience with accutane for them and that they are seeing better results than I have these past few weeks. Cheers to all of us trying to get rid of acne- it really is an awful thing to have

Week 5! Accutane

I feel like I'm getting all my side-effects under control!! I celebrated my birthday about a week ago, my boyfriend took me to disneyland so I was off accutane for about 3 days (I knew I couldn't be in the sun/dry air while on active accutane) and I really didnt have a problem at all! I use aquaphor like no other. At nighttime I spread it on my face and it stops allll peeling from happening. I also use it on my lips. If I ever get cracks(I haven't gotten one for a bit now) I use this stuff called Bag Balm. Its in a green container and I got it at Walgreens. Seriously AMAZING! Acne wise, I still have dots and my face is SUPER red. I cant really distinguish which is acne and which is red marks at this point because my whole face is also more flushed. I developed a rash, but my doctor gave me a really strong cream to use against it and it cured it all! My dermatologist also suggested I move my dosage up to 60 from 40, but I said no to this month because it is finals week(hell week) and i have a lot of stress from all that. I am thinking about doing that next month, but I am terrified about the side effects flaring up!! I really don't have bad acne right now, its just lots of red and some pimples. (making my coverup not match as well -__- ) I hope everyone is doing well!!! p.s. girls! do you have a foundation that works well for you???? Right now I use Clinique but it really isnt matching due to the redness

Accutane Day 24

Well! I am now just getting past my third week on accutane and it has been going alright. Some of the main things i've noticed are DRYNESS! I use aquaphor like its water. I slather it allll over my face at night and its always on my lips. Thank goodness I'm a girl so I can pass it off as a lipgloss:) My face has actually been doing okay- there is only three MAIN big pimples on my face and my skin feels tighter. Especially when I get out of the shower, the water seems to just be sucked into my face!! My lips are doing okay, for about a week they were bad, but then THANKFULLY they got way way better!! They look pretty normal, just shiny constantly. The second there is nothing on them, they are so dry its wild!! Another side effect- I'm getting a rash!! Its on my arms and slightly on my thighs. I have a dermatology appointment monday so i'm hoping she can give me something... :/ Other than that, I think i've been doing okay. I do have dryer eyes, my hair has thinned a bit and I don't really crave any foods anymore! I am thinking about going off it for 3 days because my birthday is on thursday and my friends are taking me out for the whole day friday.. I hear that if you are off it for like 72 hours your lips wont hurt. I think thats what I need to do to celebrate and not be soo worried my lips will peel or something. Cheers! I hope everyone is having a good december/ accutane trip. I hope we all have beautiful clear skin by SUMMER!

I joke that I'm an old grandpa. it literally hurts sometimes to bend down then up with my back. Other than that, I think i've been doing okay. I do have dryer eyes, my hair has thinned a bit and I don't really crave any foods anymore! I guess im getting lots of little side effects but they arent affecting me like crazy I am thinking about going off it for 3 days because my birthday is on thursday and my friends are taking me out for the whole day friday.. Day 18!

So! Today is day 18 on Accutane. The worst thing thats been happening is my lips. I researched the internet like crazy and found something called Bag Balm (I bought it at Walgreens) and its been really really helping. The second I don't have something on my lips though, they feel like they are on fire!! Other than that, I feel like I'm having hair loss. I bought all these special shampoos for it and I use special body moisturizer to wash instead of soap! But my body is definitely reacting to it. I also use jojoba oil on my face before I go to sleep and if I have a dry patch I put some Aquaphor on it. This has been helping like no other!! I'm not really dealing with dry skin besides the lips. As for my acne, it comes and goes. Some days I will wake up and look pretty clear and others I will wake up with two or three zits. Its really weird? I hope everyones having an amazing thanksgiving!! I just turned in all of my UC college apps so fingers are crossed!!

Accutane Day 8

I'm getting really discouraged about my lips and worried!! Today i woke up and they were peely, feeling weird and almost blister-like? Can anyone please please please recommend some good stuff for your lips, I'm using aquaphor but it's not helping! agh I also have started the dry skin- but by putting aquaphor on it at night, it takes away the dry skin for the next day pretty much! I am applying lots of it, I have a towel on my pillow to keep it from getting too gross I am am starting to feel my scalp getting itchy, i bought some dandruff shampoo and moisturizers. Overall, I'm really hoping my lips don't crack and peel that is what I have been MOST scared about and it only seems to be getting worse. I hope everyone else is going well on accutane!!

Accutane Day 5:)

Today for some reason wasn't that bad! My lips are slightly dry and weirdly this moisturizer I use on my face is actually making me look oily... does anyone have any good moisturizers for your face while wearing makeup also? By the way, some info on me! I'm 19, in college && been strugglinggg with acne FOREVER so I'm finally on accutane. I have a boyfriend, so I am so scared my lips will peel up.. that is my worst fear about this whole process. As I mentioned last time, I'm on 40 mg a day!! In the mornings I use Cetaphil Sensitive Skin Wash Ponds Cream My usual makeup from Clinique and this is when I take my pill Evenings I use Ceptahil and Ponds also I also take fish oil (I heard it helps on accutane?) and my Birth Control Pill. Other than that, everything is going well! Today wasn't so bad besides actually looking really shiny! (Which is really weird since I normally have dry skin) Hope everyone had an amazing day!

Accutane Day Four!

I have been struggling with acne for 6 years and after going through EVERYTHING(nothing worked) I am using Accutane, 40mg every morning. I have mild-moderate but persistent acne The first day was the worst, I felt sick and feverish, I had a non stop headache and my body hurt! ugh! I went to bed early after that. Now that its day 4, I definitely notice my lips being drier. I've been drinking soo much water and applying aquaphor like crazy! I use ponds for face moisturizer right now, my face isn't dry, its only my lips. I also went on a shopping spree and bought moisture bearing shampoos, conditioners, body creams and shaving cream. I use cetaphil to wash my face and I'm staying farr away from anything that will remotely make me dry!! Wish me luck!! I'm hoping I don't get the side effects too bad, that's what I've been the most scared about. I don't want cracked and peeling lips! aghh:(
