On the late December (to be more specific - it was 29th of December), 2012, I decided to try not so known South Korean 'Acfine' cosmetics. What I'd got was three products to start with: Cleansing Foam, Moisture Skin and Moisture Lotion. It was hard at first, because there was a very little information about the products in English, but somehow I've sorted it out.
First, you have to clean your skin with cleansing foam for 2-5 minutes. It lathers pretty good, so it was a little bit suspicious whether it has SLS (sodium laureth sulphate), but after reading all list of ingredients, I found out that it is only the 9th ingredient. The main ingredients are: aqua, myristic acid, potassium hydroxide, sulphur and glycerin which are really pretty good (especially sulphur and glycerine), because it means that it cleanses well, yet moistures the skin perfectly. I have to say that I felt exactly that way. My skin wasn't tingling, it was soft and refreshed, even a little bit lighter too.
Another thing is that I didn't decide what to use first: Moisture Skin, which is consistency of water, or Moisture Lotion, which looks like moisturing gel. I decided to use Moisture Skin as tonic and Moisture Lotion instead of moisturing cream.
All in all, I think that these products really left my skin light and refreshed, but after few months of using it, I didn't noticed any better healing of my severe acne. The products were pricy too.
So I decided to use Hemp oil (it's not made from Cannabis which is used for smoking). My mom tries to buy natural products, because they are cheaper and not so harsh. By the way, I heard the oils could help heal your natural skin microflora and boost immunity. I am currently using "Himalaya" Neem Cleansing foam and Cannaderm cream for acne ( cream is with 15% of Hemp oil).
My skin was combination and now it's oily-normal, Caucasian race.
Internally, I take Sea Buckthorn oil and 1000mg Evening Primrose oil (Have no idea how this should help, but I'm using this for half a year now), I eat only fish (from meats section, so that means I don't eat red meat and white meat - chicken, lamb, pork etc.), I use dairy and other foods, which originally are not recommended in acne diet (wheat etc.) and occasionally I do yoga (almost everyday or when I'm in mood, so, yeah, - everyday). My face looks really better after two years now, but I want to see how hemp products would help me to improve (well, at some point when I would be able not to use make up in daylight). So I think that two weeks (maybe one) after, I would use cleanser, and mask made from Hemp oil ( I haven't ordered yet, sorry). I would like to report everything as often as possible (or as often as I would like), because the only review I've seen is about oil and not it's products.
So what is Hemp oil used for food and cosmetics?
I am no expert so just to make less fuss for you, look what I found on the internet (ahem, Wikipedia):
Hemp(from Old Englishhænep) is a term reserved mainly for low tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) varieties of the plant Cannabis sativa. Of the approximately 2000 cannabis plants varieties known, about 90% contain only low-grade THC and are most useful for their fiber, seeds and medicinal or psychoactive oils. Hemp is one of the earliest domesticated plants known. In modern times hemp is used for industrial purposes including paper, textiles, clothing, biodegradable plastics,construction (as with Hemcrete and insulation), body products, health food and bio-fuel.
Hemp oil or hempseed oil is obtained by pressing hemp seeds. Cold pressed, unrefined hemp oil is dark to clear light green in color, with a pleasant nutty flavour. The darker the color, the grassier the flavour. Refined hempseed oil is clear and colorless (I use non refined by the way), with little flavor and lacks natural vitamins and antioxidants. Refined hempseed oil is primarily used in body care products.
About 30–35% of the weight of hempseed is an edible oil that contains about 80% as essential fatty acids (EFAs); i.e.,linoleic acid, omega-6 (LA, 55%), alpha-linolenic acid, omega-3 (ALA, 22%), in addition to gamma-linolenic acid, omega-6(GLA, 1–4%) and stearidonic acid, omega-3 (SDA, 0–2%).
The proportions of linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid in one tablespoon per day (15 ml) of hempseed oil easily provides human daily requirements for EFAs. Unlike flaxseed oil, hempseed oil can be used continuously without developing a deficiency or other imbalance of EFAs.
My first blog entry in this site, but blogging is not unknown for me. I have been writing a diary and blogging for two or three years. Sure, then acne wasn't my problem. I was just a girl that wanted to be like every girl in the movies and in that case - have diary too. I am fighting with acne for year and a half now. But recently I feel better emotionally and that's why it helps me to concentrate into studies and LIFE.
