Accutane (Claravis) 2Nd Treatment Day: 1-18

First off I am going to start by introducing my self and struggle with acne. My name is Andrea I am 20 years old, and have had a on going battle with acne since I was 11. I have tried numerous Antibiotics, Tropicals Prescription, and Over the counter acne washes. Just to name a few... Erythromycin Minocycline Bactrim Differin Benzaclin 10% Benzoyl Peroxide wash Proactiv Yaz Birth Control At age 17 I Finally had a Dermatologist prescribe me Accutane (Claravis) From August 2008 - December 2008. The treatment course went very well with minor side effects (Dry Lip, Eyes, Face, Hair, Joint Paints, Ect...) My face cleared up about 95% and stayed relativity clear for about 2 yrs after my first course, but unfortunately about 4months ago my face decided to erupt and blemishes again..... I am now currently on a second course of Accutane (Claravis) Started the first dose of 30mg per day on September 13, 2011. I did have a small initial break about in the first 3 to 10days of taking accutane. At around day 8 my lips began to dry out and now I am constantly coating my lips in Aquaphor, Cortibalm, And Vaseline to help aid in the dryness (I am self-conscious about kissing my Boyfriend because of them). The oils in my face are diminishing away and my face is drying up. I use Cetaphil Moisturizer and Cerave Moisturizer to help replenish my skin. My face seems to be clearing up and the blemishes I do have pop up seem to heal fast (around 3-4days). Hopefully my face continues clearing throughout my course and does not act up.... I Really hope i have a clear face by December because I will be turning 21 and vacationing in Las Vegas ( Sucks I wont be able to really drink, since Accutane and Alcohol are both processed through the liver)(Dr. Said i could have a few drinks in moderation). Well thats about all I have to say for now. Please leave comments and support if you are also going through a course of accutane.
