ARGHHHH!!! Attack of oil, which is apparently quite common during the first trimester due to increased levels of progesterone. Hoping this subsides in the second trimester when estrogen levels increase. At the moment I am managing it and it has not led to any serious outbreaks, just look like a greasy mess. I use Liz Earle cleanser and toner, followed by Panoxyl 5 and then Liz Earle moisturiser for oily skin. Before I put makeup on I use an oil freem mattifying primer and the Bare Minerals make up. I am convinced that this routine has prevented me from getting more severe outbreaks. I have to top up about every 3 - 4 hours on the bare minerals powder to prevent shine and if it's a humid day, then it seems to be every hour or so. I am going to the doc soon, to get the pregnancy confirmed and I will ask her what treatment I can get to help with any blemishes whilst pregnant, I think that topical erythromycin and clindamicn are considered safe, so I may try to get some of that.

Well, I checked about products that I can and can't use during pregnancy and annoyingly salicylic acid is a no no, so this means that I cannot use the Clinique 3 step skincare which I love. So I spent ages looking for stuff for oily skin that doesn't have salicylic acid in and I found some Clean and Clear and Clearasil stuff, which I'm going to use with the BP (which is safe), so fingers crossed it will keep blemishes at bay.
Well, I found out a few days ago that I'm pregnant I've noticed some changes in my skin. The skin on my body is much more dry, but the skin on my face is the same. I have been getting a breakout on just my right cheek and it's only one at a time, so it's not serious. They seem to heal much quicker than before, but I'm using BP again to try to stop them from developing.
Monthly cycle seems to be back to normal now, which is good. My skin got greasier during PMT and now it is quite dry, so I have had to stop using the BP. Will start to use it again on my T zone when it gets greasier. Got some spots on my chin and jawline when my skin was greasy, but they weren't too bad and could be successfully covered up. Don't have any active spots at present as they have dried up. Quite positive about how this is going at the moment.

skin much oilier, but so far I haven't broken out that much because I've modified my regimen to suit my skin. I only have a couple of small ones to speak of at the moment
Weight loss has increased
PMT has gotten slightly worse (what I think is PMT anyway, I'm still waiting for that oneto materialise)
Hair is much less dry and in better condition
I had been on Yasmin for 4 years and have made the decision to stop taking it in order to try to get pregnant. I wanted to write about the experiences I am having as I know that women are often worried about the side effects they'll get when coming off the pill. Well, so far I've only been off it for a week and I have had some side effects:
Greasier skin - my skin has become more oily and I have had a few more spots, but these have been small and superficial. Started using BP again and that has really sorted them out. I couldn't use BP while on Yasmin as it made my skin dry.
Greasier hair - my hair gets oily more quickly, but nothing major.
Losing weight - the weight seems to be coming off and I am less hungry
Eyebrows thinner - really strange, I know.
Libido has improved dramatically.
Anyway, I'll try to keep people updated on how this progresses. xxx
