So this makes week four into the regimen, and I am still seeing slow but sure progress on my skin. I am not flakey anymore, and my neck is no longer orange since moisturizing with the Cetaphil Restoraderm. It feels like its going to leave my skin greasy, but it just ends up soaking right in , I even use it during the day time and I'm not oily. For days I'm outside I have been using Neutrogena dry touch spf 45 and have not had problems with that. So far my forehead, nose, and chin have no breakouts, woot woot! I skin feels smoother in areas, and I'm seeing more clear pores on my nose. I STILL have these deep, used to be cystic, pimple things that keep looking like they are going to heal, then they 'fill' back up, they are just taking their time healing. My cheeks are definately my problem areas for cysts and huge breakouts. I have like three healing up on my right cheek and three on the other as well, and I always get them in the same spots so I think the actual skin is damaged there from me picking, so I've stopped messing with them and maybe they will finally heal. I have been walking 2 miles a day, and eventually I want to build my stamina to start running a mile a day, and work my way up to five miles a day. I am in no means a person that loves to run so this is going to be a hard for me but I think I can do it. I've always loved to walk, and my boyfriend used to run all the time, so I told him if he would let me start out slow I would run with him, cause he needs to get back into it and I need to just get active. Its so hard with a sit down job, and I think some of my acne is from just not being healthy in general because of the pcos. Anyway, this ended up being so long, but yeah I am also taking some vitamins, a multivitamin, some folic acid, vit c, chromium, etc. I found this multi pack of vitamins formulated for diabetics, and since pcos can act like diabetes I thought they would help out. I don't get enough fruits and veggies at all in my diet, and I hardly even drink milk ever. And I have def been working on portion control, and making sure my meals are more colorful instead of all brown from starches and meat!
So I had posted on another thread I was on week four but I just realized this is the third week. I've almost went through a whole tube of my persagel 10, and it's doing good on my face but irritating the heck out of my neck. I have pale skin and now it's turning orange, kinda like a fake tan or too dark of makeup. So tho my neck is clear I stopped using the bp on that area. Also I realized my neutrogena moisturizer had retinol in it, so maybe the combo was just too much for my neck, or the products didn't work well together? Either way, I just bout a bottle of dans bp, and I cannot wait for it to come in the mail!! I stopped the neutrogena moisturizer, and picked up some cetaphil restoraderm today. I put it on my neck, today, didn't wear any foundation today, just a little mineral makeup. ok so while my neck is orange and itchy itchy itchy! I am having some good results. My chin on the first week had three red pimples which are gone. I only have two new pimples on my jawline, which are small. I am still having big angry red cyst things going on both of my cheeks. Some I think are just re-occuring and refilling up because I am a bad picker and I probably damaged the actual pore so now it's just like keeps breaking out. I have got to stop picking on my cheeks so these huge things can just heal! If I were to stick with the persagel I think I would end up quitting the regimen but I know its working slowly and am looking forward to dans bp. I just hate the feeling of the thick persagel cream crap-o-la!
So today is day five. Yesterday my face was feeling tight and itchy so I moisturized until my skin didn't have that dry feeling. I went all day on day three without makeup and day four I went until noon. I wear makeup during the week because I work everyday, but on the weekends I try to give my skin a break. So an under the skin pimple on my chin that I could feel getting sore two days ago is already dried up, and I only have one new pimple, and it is very small. All my old breakouts are dried up, and my skin is actually feeling smooth, most of the bumps have smoothed out, and my makeup goes on better. I only have a little flaking by the corner of my mouth, so I think i've been moisturizing well enough. My skin still needs to heal all my old breakouts, you can still see red dots all over my face, cheeks especially and on my neck and jaw line. Hopefully I won't get many more new breakouts to give all those red marks time to heal. So I have photos upload on photobucket and have driven myself crazy trying to get them to show up, so no photos today sorry! I'll try again tomorrow I guess.
I've known about acne.org for two years, followed it for 3/4 months, started getting results, and stopped for some unknown reason! Why, why, did I not stick with it, my skin is horrible, again. I am in my late twenty's, and everyone thought my acne would go away after becoming and adult, but no, I've been suffering from acne since 12, and it has been moderate since 14. I've found out I have pcos, a female hormone imbalance, so my skin behaves maybe one week, and the other three its a nightmare. I don't know If I stopped using the regimen because I was too busy, but I think mostly because I don't like ordering stuff online, I like to see products up close and personal when shopping, touch them, read ingredients, smell the contents, etc. but to find a good size 2.5% bp in stores is not possible, and I became frustrated! I was actually given persagel 10 (bp) back in the day from a derm when persagel was prescription, but no one told me about proper use, and no one told me about moisturizers, so after major drying, itching, flaking, after only one week I said, forget this crap, and never really tried to use bp again. Now that I'm older, and know alot more about skin care and makeup, I'm excited to start the regimen again knowing how to keep my skin moisturized while using bp, using non comedogenic makeup/ products, etc. I really, really would love to order Dan's products, especially since there are no drugstore moisturizers that I could find that have jojoba oil, all I've found are moisturizers with glycerin and mineral oil, which yes to moisturize, but are the cheapest moisturizers a company can put into their products (more on that later I suppose). Buuuuut, for now, I would like to use up products I have before ordering, because I'm also on a bit of a budget right now. So this is technically day three for me, and I promise, photos tomorrow! So far four really big under the skin, red cycstic types are already shrinking, and my pores are already looking clean inside. I can tell my skin is getting itchy and dry, so I've been moisturizing more than normally. So far, no flakes yet. Here are the products I'm trying to use up, and they will have to do until I can order the acne.org products, can't wait! AM routine Clean and clear foaming facial cleanser for sensitive skin Clean and clear persagel 10, diluted with moisturizer of course Clean and clear finishes mattifying moisturizer, spf 15 Facial spray (water and glycerin, similar to mac fix plus) for extra moisture when needed PM routine Clean and clear foaming cleanser Persagel 10, diluted with moisturizer Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion, Night Vitamin E oil for extra moisture I don't really love using the glycerin or vit e oil, but my skin is pretty dry already, I have a lot on hand, and they are good moisturizers, but I really am going to switch this up later on for jojoba oil, because of all its good properties, and it also contains antioxidants. So posting photos tomorrow, with no makeup and with!
