Well I have been using Paula's Choice BHA 2% liquid since Thurs. on just my cheeks, nose, and in between my eyes. In between my eyes seems okay but HOLY CRAP!!!! BREAKOUT CITY on my cheeks, under my nose (where I think the liquid drips) and nose!!!! Maybe it's an IB? No clue...
I'm hoping so. I'm going to switch to using once a day I guess, and see where that takes me. I still do the regimen, just now on my nose and cheeks...but now I'm going to once a day. Still taking the same vitamins and still avoiding dairy, gluten, and soy.
Clogged pores are now huge on my cheeks (inflamed, some are whiteheads...well just one actually) and I had once pretty big active on my left cheek.
Update later. Trying to stay positive...since my wedding is in 3 weeks. I'm sure the stress isn't helping my situation.
Still getting clogged pores in my cheeks and in between my eyebrows. And some on my chin as well. Just got a new pimple on my left cheek can't tell what it's going to be yet (big, small, easy, pain in the butt, etc.) I just ordered some BHA from Paula's Choice for my clogged pores...i just ordered a sample size but I will let you guys know how it goes.
I got really bad stomach pain/heartburn recently, so I have had to take some medications (unfortunately) so that could have contributed to my new friend. I am also on my period. My wedding is coming up (stress) and so on.
Still eating healthy, taking the pre-mentioned vitamins (except vit D now only on non sunny days or days where i don't get sun). Oh and I am also taking a probiotic supplement (but that is for my stomach, not acne...so maybe another possible cause to new pimple? No clue).
Today is my 22nd BIRTHDAY, though
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
Well, haven't ran in the past two days due to emergencies. Got my hair done today and she put crap on my forehead. Then, fell asleep with my little make up on! I'm so stupid. Good thing I woke up at 1:30 AM at least to wash my face. But still. This is awful. So incredibly dumb of me I haven't done this in months! My own freakin' fault.
My clogged pores are more enlarged, that's for sure. I also think I got some new ones
That's what I get for not getting up when I was getting really tired...
So, did something bad tonight. I picked two raised blackhead things (not sure what they are called). One came out instantly, and I actually think it was okay as I long as I disinfected it (we will find out tomorrow though! Haha maybe I made it worse--which is most likely) and I also picked another blackhead thing...yeah, it's bigger my fault though! Sorry skin!
So I have been running these past 3 days. I love it so far. But I also got a new pimple on my chest, which hasn't happened in a LONG time besides the other one I had a day or so ago. So weird. I think it's the running. It was a huge white head, so I popped it and put some tea tree oil and a bandage on it. So, we will see.
Let's see. I have been taking my original vitamins (A, D3, and Zinc) once daily, plus an Aleve for my huge zit I have above my lip that is STILL there. I'm beginning to think it will be there for awhile, lol. The cyst on my right cheek is still lingering as well.
I love the healthy eating I'm doing. I found so many great food blogs, some raw vegan, some vegetarian, etc. I would put the links here, but I think they get taken off? Whether or not they do, just message me for some if you are interested.
So, I am a self-proclaimed chocoholic. Never was into coffee, I drink tea occasionally, I don't drink alcohol, have never done any sort of drugs, etc...but chocolate is my weakness. It's bad. So today on some of the raw vegan websites I found that most support cacao (the bean that chocolate is made from). Let me state it is CACAO, not COCO. Cacao is pure chocolate. Bitter and tasty in all it's glory (at least in my opinion). I prefer dark to milk chocolate any day, so the bitterness doesn't really phase me. Well, I saw a couple of recipes for a quick chocolate fix, which consists of coconut oil, cacao powder (organic, pure), honey, and almond milk. It was DELICIOUS. And, supposedly really good for you (in moderation, of course). This doesn't mean you snack on Hershey or Milky Way all day, but if you are like me and love chocolate, this raw food recipe is the way to go.
However, the caffeine that is naturally in cacao concerns me, because I rarely get so much caffeine. So, we will see how that goes. But I have heard about Carob, which is natural and sweet like chocolate, but has no caffeine. I scoured my favorite health food stores, but to no avail. I'm hitting a few more spots tomorrow. This would be wonderful for a banana smoothie. Carob and pure chocolate both contain antioxidants, which are great for your skin.
Anyways, so that is something new I ate today.
What has also been on my mind is birth control. One day, I need to get off of it. I'm probably going to be on it for the rest of the year, because I want it in the early stages of my marriage, at least for awhile until I figure other alternatives out. But, it needs to go someday (and preferably sooner rather than later).
Updates later! Ttyl
Haha, oh my... my last rant was insane! It was late though (3 AM--after Harry Potter too) and I was upset.
And just to state first off, I think by now if you are reading my blog you have probably discovered it is a hybrid of the DKR regimen and holistic health. So, that being said...
I did have a breakout Thurs/Fri of last week. My chin still has little ones, I have two pretty big ones above my lip, the cyst on my right cheek is still lingering, and two (possibly three) on my forhead.
I think part of it was I did have some chocolate, and as much as I love it, I know that it is most likely a trigger food for me , I was up later than usual due to the premiere, I was emotional (last HP! haha), etc.
I also started two new vitamins: Vitamin A and Vitamin D3. I think I bought a crappy brand. It contains soybean oil, which I don't think my body likes. I am buying a new kind for both of these vitamins called Country Life, that has a pretty good ingredient list.
I also didn't have a green smoothie for 3 days
Also, although I want to deny it, I think gluten is a problem for me sometimes. But sometimes not (if that makes any sense whatsoever). So this week (and possibly next) I'm going to have no gluten at all, and see what happens. If nothing happens, I will go back to my whole wheat toast I have every morning I know this is a short amount of time, ,but maybe I can slowly incorporate it back (man, I am an amateur). Gluten is the hardest thing for me to let go of. Sweets, dairy, processed foods are hard as well, but easier for me personally to give up rather than gluten, and I think this is due to just sheer convenience. Bread is an easy meal. I have thought about doing a candida cleanse, but I am on birth control so it would be pointless...maybe when I am off of it eventually.
So, starting this afternoon (I had bread for lunch...lol whoops) I am having no gluten and I am taking my (hopefully) healthier made vitamins (I hope they are at the store like the site said they would be!)
I have also not exercised in a while. So, I'm going to run a bit on the treadmill tonight (not hardcore, just light exercise). Which scares me, because I think it gives me pimples sometimes, but then other times it doesn't...hm...
No rhyme or reason sometimes I swear...
Really discouraged right now. So...I took D3, Vitamin A, and Cod Liver Oil tonight...which I probably should have done slowly(incorporated one after the other after time)...but didn't. Ate a bit of chocolate at the movie...probably shouldn't have done that either.
I have 3 NEW pimples on my chin...one is a cyst, a cyst on my lip, clogged pores on right cheek more enlarged, and a new zit on my forehead.
WTF!? SERIOUSLY?! I was doing so well...just wanted to add more vitamins...god forbid I have ANY chocolate at all.
I also still have the cyst on my right cheek.
I went crazy and picked at my clogged pores...which I haven't done in so long...but I was so mad I had to.
I am so upset. So, so upset. I had been doing so good. Why is this happening? New vitamins? I don't even know. I can't even stand it.
I would stay in my bed forever if I could. These pimples literally came in 5 hours or less. I can't believe it happened so fast...
One word for today: RED!
SUPER RED! Which is weird, because I haven't been this red in awhile (or ever, maybe...). Maybe I'm allergic to something I have eaten? I have also slightly increased my BP amount, so that could be it too. Hopefully it calms down by midnight (at least, before would be preferable), as I am going to be seeing HARRY POTTER AT MIDNIGHT!!!! I'm excited Don't judge, haha. Maybe I will post a picture of it later.
Anyways, so the tea tree oil was good. Think it made my pimple in the corner smaller (it is now gone). I have many, many clogged pores on my right cheek. Which is weird, because that used to be my good cheek. Maybe it just now decided to start purging? Hmph , I don't know. My cyst on my right cheek is the same.
The two pimples that were on my forhead are now gone (as I have previously stated). But a new, little (for now) pimple is there now. So, bummer.
Another weird thing. Got a huge pimple on my chest....which is super weird. No clue as to why. Sometimes I get them there though.
So, still taking zinc and having my daily green smoothies (and eating well). Also, still taking kefir and eating goat milk yogurt. Now, I am thinking about taking a D3 supplement. It is July 14th and it is still not sunny here!!!! (I live in the Pacific Northwest, aka rain city ). It has only been sunny a week this summer...I think? So, maybe I need some Vitamin D...we will see. I'm going to buy it after work and take it tonight.
Thinking about some all natural carrot juice as well, in order to cleanse my liver (which probably desperately needs it...poor thing, lol). So, might buy some of that as well.
That is all. Ready for the redness to go away, lol.
Quick update. The freakin' huge monster in the middle of my forehead is gone. I popped it haha I know. But now it's pretty much nothing but a red mark. Shouldn't pop though! But it was seriously huge. Everyone commented on it, including my sister who knows not to say anything about my skin, lol.
The cyst on my right cheek is still huge. But not touching it. Just putting BP on it. I also have some clogged pores on my right cheek as well hmph.
BUT, for the first time I used tea tree oil. I only used it on the zit in the corner, because I want to test it out, and that zit you can hardly even see. So if it works, it works. If not, good thing I didn't put it on my WHOLE face, lol. I put a band aide on it after I applied the tea tree oil. I got it from Trader Joes by the way (I LOVE TRADER JOES, for the record )
I have been eating very healthy, and have now incorporated SOME dairy stuff in. I only incorporated kefir, which is fermented milk and is a huge staple in many people's acne free diet. I did a ton of research on it. So we will see how that does. I also ate some goat yogurt today. Pretty good.
Bad news: had a super stressful day, so that's never good. Also, I got really dizzy and lightheaded at work and all my body wanted was sugar. So I ate a Special K bar, which is super bad for you, but I thought I was going to faint. I think I'm not getting enough carbs or protein in my diet, and I'm eating too much fruit (sugar). So I made sweet potatoes and eggs for dinner, and had a green kefir smoothie. It could also be my body adjusting to not having constant bad sugars, carbs, fats, high fructose corn syrup, chocolate, etc. It's almost like I'm an addict and my body is craving bad food because it's all it's ever known for 21 years. So crazy how much crap I ate. I'm not saying I'm perfect, and no one should be with their diet ALL the time--we need to cheat a little--but I'm so much more aware.
It's all trial and error from here.
Oh, and I think it was the sugary alcohol that caused my breakout, and also my period ending.
I will let everyone know how the new diet changes and tea tree oil do.
So, it's okay right now I guess. The little pimples are gone, for now. I think it was purging and not putting enough BP on these areas. Redness is....random, lol. Some days I'm not red at all, some days I'm red all day, some days it comes and goes. It really depends on what I eat, how much water I drink, the temperature, how active I am, etc. Same with the peeling. Just completely random.
Unfortunately, I have my first cysts since starting the regimen . One right smack dab in the middle of my forehead, where I have had a little pimple for weeks now, I guess it now just decided to emerge and grow, and one on my good cheek . I think the one of my forehead was something I ate, and the one on my cheek was hormonal and formed after my period stopped (when my hormones were changing again...). I had been taking Aleve on my period twice a day, and the day I stopped this sucker formed...really bummed about it--(I also put jojoba on that cheek 2ish weeks ago, so it could be that, I don't really use jojoba for anything but eye make up remover now anyway). Oh, and I also have a pimple (not a cyst really, thank goodness) on the corner of my forehead, but that one is in a corner so I don't really care about it as much, haha.
I use very little make up, which is good. I still conceal red spots and some pimples though. This is better than when I caked foundation all over my face, with or without pimples. My poor pores (no pun intended) couldn't breathe.
Hm, I have known this for awhile, but just recently truly discovered how much diet affects it all. I'd say I'm pretty healthy most of the time, but I slacked off last week and viola (ate out, 3 times and I tried to be healthy, but restaurant food is usually never healthy, lol)! Two new cysts! Which is truly discouraging. The one on my forehead I don't care about as much (because it already almost has a white head, and I didn't pick it!!! YAY ME), but the one on MY ONLY GOOD CHEEK upsets me. I'm just not going to touch it, put BP on it, and take Aleve for inflammation. Oh, and EAT GOOD. I eat no dairy (but, sometimes cheese, but in limited amounts and organic if possible), no processed foods, no soda, I limit sugar, drink 90ish oz of water a day, etc. I'm also going to only have bread/gluten ONCE a day, which will be really hard for me, but I need to do it.
I need green smoothies everyday, and as much green, leafy vegetables as possible. And FRUIT! But that wont be a problem, because fruit is my favorite food ever, lol. I'm also thinking about getting a water purifier...because I watched a documentary on contaminated water in the US, and it freaked me out, haha.
What else, oh I have been taking 25 mg of Zinc a day as well. Not sure what this has done. I'm hoping it isn't the cause of my cysts...maybe it is, who knows. I only take 25 mg because I am afraid of getting sick again...lol. Has anyone had zinc break them out? I wonder...
I have also had more alcohol than usual, so that could be the cause as well. Sugary alcoholic drinks are probably not the wisest, lol (Margaritassss). I actually am not a drinker AT ALL. Only occassionally, or when I'm on vacation. So, my body probably freaked out because it's not used to it. Plus it has sugar and artificial flavoring...
Another possible cause: my fiance slept over the past three nights. I am a nazi with my sheets and pillow cases (I change and wash them every other day) but when you're sleeping with another person, their oils and such get on the pillow cases and sheets through the night, and your face picks up freakin' everything, even if you wash often. He hasn't spent the night since I started the regimen, so definitely could be a cause. Which would suck, because I am marrying him in a month. Separate beds? Lol jk!
I also went on a pretty harcore run days before this breakout...could be another cause. I didn't shower directly after, so maybe that is it?
So: My diet is great, but still needs slight improvement; watch out for the zinc and jojoba; no more alcohol for awhile; sleeping habits when sleeping with another needs to be figured out...
I think that is all. Probably won't update for awhile, but update I will!
P.S.--does anyone use tea tree oil (organic) for existing spots? Love it, hate it?
So I guess BP is water insoluble, meaning that it cannot be dissovled by water. This is actually interesting to know because (yes, I did have a mishap with my water bottle this morning) but this also great information for all of the swimmers out there.
So, (and this might be a stupid question to ask, but I must) BP cannot be "washed off" at all (well after it dries)? I know it is absorbed...but just into the skin? Into the system? I will study this a bit more, and I'm simply curious.
Here is an excerpt I found discussing the solubility of BP:
"One of the most commonly used ingredients in over-the-counter acne treatments in cream, gel, and wash form is benzoyl peroxide. It is an anti-bacterial agent that kills the bacterium (Propionibacterium acne) involved in the formation of acne. The formulation of these products is extremely difficult owing to the instability of benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide is soluble in polyethylene glycol (PEG) and isopropyl myristate, but it is not stable in these solvents. Also, it is practically insoluble in water and only slightly soluble in ethanol but is very stable in the presence of these solvents. The stability of benzoyl peroxide in PEG or isopropyl myristate is increased upon addition of water or ethanol. Students take on the role of the process chemist and use peroxide strips to investigate the stability of benzoyl peroxide in an over-the-counter acne medication in solutions of water, ethanol, PEG, 50:50 ethanol:PEG, 50:50 water:PEG, isopropyl myristate, and 50:50 ethanol:isopropyl myristate."-The Journal of Chemical Education
So not only is it not watre soluble, but it is stable in this environment.
Sitll the same pretty much. The little pimples seem to be getting maybe a little better on my upper lip, between my eyes, and chin. The ones on my cheeks are still there.
I did something incredibly stupid about 10 minutes ago. I was drinking my water and tipped it a little too far back and got water ALL OVER MY FACE, mostly aorund my mouth (where I have been breaking out) So, CRAP. I just dabbed it, didn't wipe or anything--so I hope the BP stayed. UGH, I'm paranoid about it now. Wish I would have brought some BP with me to work...hopefully it's okay? It still feels semi-tight...
I have also been reading about taking Aleve during PMS and your period to reduce pre-menstrual flare ups, which is what I think I am having right now (I start in 2-3 days). Hopefully this will help. I took 2 yesterday and I will take 2 today, and so on until my period ends. I will let you guys know how this goes.
So mad about the water thing...lol.
Have a good day everyone
This week is so terrible for me, and I am unsure as to why. My good cheek, my favorite cheek that is always so good has gotten a pimple, and it is probably going to be big. I literally don't understand. I eat so well, I do the regimen, I change my pillow cases every night, I have not let anyone touch my face (even my fiance), etc. I just have done so much and I STILL GET IT. It never ends and I don't understand. I wonder if it's my birth control...but I have already been on it for almost 2 months and I am afraid of switching or going off and watching my acne get even worse. Most of it is small, I suppose, but IT'S EVERYWHERE. It just keeps coming. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm at home and not busy and I have more time to think about it. But even my good areas: my chin, lips, cheek, etc. are breaking out. It sucks.
Sad trying not to be though.
Put almost the full amount of BP on. Ugh, it hurts. Also, had to miss work again because I'm still kind of sick The pimples on my chin, upper lip, and between my eyes are the same, and last night I used the Neutrogena BP on them, and this morning I used Dan's BP on them. I hate having to use it in these areas because the drying is the worst there sucks! But at least I can relax at home today (even though I do feel awful).
Really red again in those areas because they aren't used to the BP, and still really flakey and dry. It's grrrreat, haha. Just kidding.
Talk to you all later!
So, my whole chin, upper lip, and corners of my mouth have blown up in little zits (minus one that is quite big ) In all honesty though, it's my fault. I have neglected to put BP on these areas due to the dryness. Now I almost have to start all over with that area :/ it sucks but it's my fault. I'm going to use the Neutrogena BP on these areas because I find it less drying. I'm hoping it will work. If not, I will use Dan's BP.
That is all.
Oh, I'm still sick from the Zinc (also my fault, man I'm striking out a lot lately) and I might miss work tomorrow from it :/
I was stupid in doing this but just as a warning to the rest of you: DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT, TAKE ZINC WITHOUT FOOD. I got so sick I had to leave work early it was painful and I was so incredibly nauseous. Omygah it was terrible, lol. I have taken zinc before (same bottle ad everything) and I never got like that before. Oh well, lesson learned.
Really, really discouraged today. It's awful. The ones above my lip literally look like a rash or something, my chin just keeps getting more, the ones between my eyes have become huge, oh and I have a new friend on my forehead. I don't get it. My face just can't be clear. I have done two rounds of accutane and it STILL breaks out. I eat good, I only drink water, I avoid all dairy and sweets, I don't wear make up, I keep care of it topically and still my skin is not happy! Why?! It is so frustrating. I know I can't expect miracle results so soon, but today is just a bad day. I literally feel hideous all the time. I have my ups and downs I suppose.
Sad that my skin is off colored due to peeling as well.
Well, I took zinc today to see what that will do. I have taken it in the past, and I took it with fish oil and I think one of those two made me break out. Hey, gotta try though I suppose. Maybe that is what is missing from my regimen: supplements. I'm thinking about taking vitamin C or A as well, I'm not sure. Any of you guys try supplements that you like?
The ones above my lip could be from my chapstick I suppose, so I will avoid that for a few days and see what happens.
As you all know, acne is just so awful. It literally occupies my mind too much to the point where it makes me sick, and that is so terrible. I really need to de-stress. We will see what this zinc will do and I will keep ya'll updated. I NEED TO KEEP MY MIND OFF OF IT before I go crazy, haha.
TTY everyone later.
Yeah, these clogged pores/little white heads are getting oooold. The ones on my chin seem to be (hopefully) going away a bit. But the ones on my upper lip make me look like I have some kind of herpes and the ones in between my eyes are getting more enlarged
STILL FLAKEY. As always, lol.
Oh! Also got a new pimple on my forehead by my right eyebrow, where I previously had a pimple, but it's now dying and this new one decided to take it's place . Not cool!
Update tomorrow! Goodnight all
Same 'ol, same 'ol. Less red. Still flakey. Still clogged pores in between my eyes, on my upper lip, chin and cheeks. GRRR. They're so hard to get rid of too. I'm trying not to touch them because they do eventually go away, but if I pop them they just come right back. So weird.
Also, does anyone notice increased redness when they exercise? And by exercise I mean just simply walking a lot? I notice every time I walk quite a bit, I'm not red before or during, but I am super red right after for about 30 min-hour. It's so weird. I walk everyday at my job and I went to the zoo yesterday with my dad and was fine the whole day until I got in the car and was BEAT red. Must just be the exercise...
On a lighter note, as I said I went to the zoo with my Dad and it was super sunny. I wore a floppy hat most of the time, but for about 10-15 min I let my face get some sun. It went well! Which is super encouraging. I don't mind wearing a hat either, so that is very good. I wore a tiny bit of cetaphil sunscreen around my eyes as well. Now I just have to figure out swimming...
Will update later tonight!!!
So, my face is so-so. I have these little zits everywhere! So, it's good that they are little, but they are annoying. They are mostly on my chin, my upper lip, and my cheeks. Yeah, annoying. But the ones on my chin and upper lip are my fault, I think.
That is pretty much it. Again, less red, but still flakey.
Have a good day all!
P.S.--I put some images of my clogged pores in my Gallery, but they need 24 hours to load I guess.
So, I thought my clogged pores were getting better then BAM! 3 or 4 clogged pores on my left cheek! BOOOO! How?! You are getting oxygen and are having no make-up put on you. Stop this, lol. My chin also has some little guys (as does my upper lip) but that is my fault because I didn't put BP there (as I have previously stated). Freakin' clogged pores...
Less red tonight. I'm always not red at night, just during the day. Weird? Still pretty flakey though. Night all!
So, getting little baby zits on my chin and upper lip...probably because I haven't been applying the regimen there whoops! Lol, so getting on that. Still dry and red. Got asked today if I had a sunburn. I said yes
Haha alright update late
So I have a question. I took a nap at work today and tried to stay off of my face and sleep on my back, but I think I rested some on my left cheek. Now I have a random red mark on my left cheek and it's been hours and it hasn't gone away yet. It doesn't hurt or feel like a lump, but is this the beginnings of a new pimple? Ugh if it is I am going to be so mad. This would be like the 5th one in the last two days...
It probably is a new pimple
Crap. I think I have a freakin' pimple growing...on my good cheek! Ugh, I'm devastated I think it's because I was too rough. I need to be more gentle dang it! Haha, That's pretty much it. Still have clogged pores and such. Pretty upset about that, but I need to be more gentle, so it's my fault. I used a little less BP this morning again, but the peeling is worse than ever. Jojoba didn't seem to do much...but I hear it takes a week or so to work?
Oh, and I also have a pimple above my lip...again, lol.
Will update tonight!
Well, I was too rough once again which is NOT good, but the flakes are so bad. At night I'm less red, which is good...but I am just absolutely flakey! I had to take some off because they looked so pore CLOGGING...it was like a full layer of flakes on my face. I needed at least SOME of it off, lol. I put a little less BP on as well, just to see. I think I'm going to use more jojoba tonight, which, frankly, scares me. However, I am so desperate to be rid of flakes that I'm going to try it. I'M TERRIFIED!
Well, I'm tired. Update tomorrow!
So, I had originally been updating my progress on my regular site, until a fellow member informed me that there was a specific section for blogs! So, alas, here I am! If you have read my progress thus far, this is probably nothing new to you, but for others out there, here is my personal background:
Hi all , I am a 21 (going to be 22 in August) year old that just graduated college and is getting married on August 27th. I have an awesome fiance, and I am pretty lucky!
(WARNING: this will be long..)
I started getting acne when I was around 12 years old. That is when my period hit as well. Go figure. I got it on my chest pretty bad and my face. After about a year, it calmed down a bit and I just got regular hormonal acne, that was pretty mild, though I hated it of course. At around the age of 15, I was prescribed birth control, due to an ovarian cyst. I can't completely remember the brand, but it had to be strong due to the evil cyst. Well, the cyst went away and so did my acne. Occassionally I would have a cyst every other month or so, but besides that I was golden. Then disaster struck. At the age of 19 I went of birth control, mostly because I didn't need it and it was a nuissance. About 1-2 months after my acquittal from the pill, I began to break out HORRIBLY. Cystic acne on my chest, back, and face. It was awful. I wouldn't leave my room and I was violently depressed. After about 3 or 4 months of this, my derm prescribed Accutane. It worked great. Acne was gone....for 5ish months. Then it came back pretty bad, but not as bad as before. So, I underwent another round of Accutane and was clear for almost 2 years, with the occassional pimple. Even though Accutane demands it, I never went on BC during this time.
About 2 months ago, I went on BC again, for ovarian cysts, protection, etc. I began to break out a little before I even went on the pill, and then kept breaking out my first month on the pill. This was also around my 2 year mark off of Accutane, which my derm told me some people start to break out again. I think it was a mixture of all of these things. I can't go off the pill, and when I do I will wean myself off and be more careful...but for now...I decided I needed to kick acne's butt! So, my last and final option was the DKR regimen.
I am using these products:
Clean & Clear Oil Free Cleanser
And, I have ordered the jojoba oil, btu I'm taking it slow because it frightens me, lol. But, I will let you guys know how that goes.
As for now, here is my status.
RED, three new guys on my forehead, and clogged pores on my cheek. I am just so red and FLAKEY! It's terrible. So terrible that I just want to tear off all of the flakes. I am often not gentle sometimes due to the flakes, which I know I need to work on. I wear hardly any make up right now because it would just flake off, I just use it on marks, not on clogged pores or anything...but once I'm clear I will hopefully put a small amount everywhere (or maybe not use any at all! that would be a miracle, lol). I use Almay foundation and sometimes a timy bit of Clinique concealer.
But, I am mostly just flakey and red...and its summer! Which bums me out and I'm getting married and going to Hawaii on my honeymoon.
I currently have Cetaphil sunblock, and I will probably introduce that when I will be outside a lot. And I will USE hats I notice when I'm outside even just for a bit my skin gets even more red, which sucks, big time.
So, right now I'm going to try and use more jojoba and see how that goes (IAM SO NERVOUS GUYS!!!) but I need the redness and flakiness to STOP! And maybe be thinking about slowly incorporating sunscreen when needed (which is almost everyday..)
I will be putting some photos in my 'Gallery' soon, but if you want to see some now, you can go to my main page and and click on the topic 'Starting the REGIMEN tonight!' (I think is what it's called).
Alright, will update tonight probably!
