My skin is still looking pretty good, I've even lowered my doses of my antibiotic and I'm not breaking out any more than I had before. I'm still using all natural topicals, and some things I'd like to recommend are activated charcoal, and epsom salt. Just something to look up and see if it's for you =P
Also I've been really good about wearing my sun screen everyday because i'm trying to get all the red marks to fade and I don't want the sun to effect the color of the red marks and such and it's really working out.
Have a good 4th
I havn't updated in a couple of days because i've been experimenting with the tea tree oil and witch hazel.
I stopped using the toner i was making and am just using tea tree oil (applied with a cotton ball) everytime after i wash my face, and then i use a moisturizer. At first it was making my skin peel and was really really dry, but once the dryness was gone it's been really great. The tea tree oil kinda burns at first, and it used to smell to me but now i don't even notice it, but if you've never tried it I really recommend it, i got mine for $8 at walmart, its not hard to get =P
Something is making my skin red and dry and idk what it is :/ I shouldn't have tried so many new things as once. I have a feeling its the tea tree oil though, and my skin just isn't used to it yet. Soo i'm going to make a new routine for myself and write it here to make sure I follow it.
Morning: wash face w/ purpose, then moisturize w/ aveeno sun block. take 1 amoxicillin pill, if going out put on makeup.
Afternoon: wash off makeup, take another amoxicillin pill, put on a honey mask for 30 minutes, wash off and moisturize w/ non spf moisturizer.
Night: take another amoxicillin pill, wash face then use my natural green tea +witch hazel+ tea tree oil toner, then moisturize w/ non spf moisturizer
I need to figure out how much tea tree oil and witch hazel I need to put in the toner because it has to be one of those two things making my skin so red.
First off I'd like to totally recommend the Aveeno face sunblock. It's spf 70 and have vitamins a,c and e in it.
Cons-- runny if you've just washed your face and have water on it still.
expensive (but I'm a shoplifter so..... lol)
Ok so i went out and bought the aveeno sunblock face lotion, a zinc oxide sunblock thats more water resistant so i have when i go swimming this summer (it's really cheap and i like it more than the aveeno but it's only spf 55 and doesn't have vitamins so i'm still going to use the aveeno on my face)
I also got..... calamine lotion, tea tree oil, a vitamin e stick, and witch hazel (14% alcohol from freds)
I'm not so sure about the calamine lotion, i doubt i'll use it that much, but it did get rid of alot of the oil on my face when i used it as a mask.
I'm trying the whole "make you own stuff" stuff. I take an old pump bottle of my purpose soap, and half of that i fill with really concentrated green tea ( little water) and add 3 caps of witch hazel, and 1/2 cap of tea tree oil. I'm only putting it on at night, idk if i'll use it in the morning because its kinda smelly haha. I havn't moisturized after it yet, because its not drying my skin that much, and i want to see what it's doing by its self.
ok peace out i'll post again tomorrow night about how my skin is doing and which products i'm using and not using.
Sooooooo since I've slowly been leaning twards the natural remedies to clear my skin I decided to try the alvacado mask since it...idk... is natural and stuff.
Anyways it wasn't horrible but idk if it's the right thing for me. It seemed like it got rid of ALL the blackheads on my nose and chin and made me feel really clean and tightened my skin, but it was really itchy, and now my skin is pretty red but we'll see how it looks in the morning. Also, I don't want to rely on something that I won't be able to get in the winder, or that costs too much then or whatever, and I'm probably allergic to it because wow this reddness isn't going down.
I read an article that said to mix it with honey and egg whites so I might try that since the honey really works for me and I've never tried egg whites because that thought makes me wanna throw up but whateverr.
uhmm... oh yeah after that movie my skin was really oily but I had no break outs.
Bride's maids was reallllly funny.... my new favorite movie.
I still havnt gone to get new products but I'm almost certain I'll be able to go tomorrow I'll me looking for:
vitamin e oil: to fade scarring
witch hazel: supposed redduce reddness and size of pumps and is a good antibacterial thingy
tea tree oil: dries up zits--kills bacteria ( its the summer so maybe i can just dry them up and not have to pop them and cause more scarring, i think i'll just use that as a spot treatment but we'll see)
uhm uhm.... ok i'll also be looking for vitamins like vitamin a and maybe a vitamin b complex, but i've read some things that they're both pretty dangerous if you take too much so (vitamin a kills you, vitamin b makes you hair fall out)
so... plan A or B. hah...
ohhh!!! and a zinc cream, its supposed to be good for your skin w/o drying your skin or making it oily once you wash it off, but idk how much they cost or if walmart even sells it.
and also a face sunscreen with an spf of 45+ thats non comedogentic, hypoallergentic, and all that stuff.
if you have a good face moisturizer w/ an spf feel free to let me know..i think biore has one i see.. i like my moisturizer but no spf :/
thanks for readingggg
Last night right before I went to bed I put on one of those free samples of Aczone. I used it all over my face and I've concluded that I'm not going to experiment with it again.
My forehead is completely clear but after the aczone i had a few small break outs so I'm definitly not going to try it again
The rest of my face is still clearing up, i had a tiny pimple below my lip but I can easily cover it with makeup.
In three hours I'm going to the movies, and i'm sure i'll be eating popcorn and a soda, and usually it will make my face really oily but we'll see if it makes me break out, and after the movie i'm going to wal-mart or walgreens to look for some products to use to clear up my scars so i'll post later about that
My skin is looking really great as of now. The cyst on my chin never got inflamed, still a few break outs on my cheeks.
Mowed the lawn today and made sure to wear a non comedogentic sunblock.
Still using honey mask atleast one a day, I'm 100% sure it's working for me.
I stopped using applecidar vinegar on my chest and I can tell it was definitly working, so i'm going to start using it again to prevent breakouts.
on a side note i've been using crest's vivid whitening strips and my teeth are looking quite shiny
Just cleaned and moisturized and my skin looks pretty good but:
1 big cyst comming up on my chin, and several under my chin, above my neck
several tiny bumps on my cheeks
red mark inbetween my eyebrow fading well, and red marks on ym jaw line too.
I don't really know what to do about the cysts, the only thing i really do to help is take the amoxicillin, but nothing topically to stop them from getting bigger. any suggestions?
Amoxicillin: I can't tell If I take 250 mg a day or 750, because it says "250 mg cap sand" but i take three a day lol.
----This isn't usually used for acne, there isn't even a review for it on acne.org, but I works very well for me. This was the step right before he step to Accutane( also i take prozac for depression so if i were put on accutane i'd probably kill myself), and I'm so happy it worked. Other antibiotics I've used that work are bactrim, and cephilixin, so if those have worked for you maybe Amoxicillin will too but idk.
honey--- I know it's kinda weird, and my grandma always used to tell me that it worked and I didn't believe her but I does really work for me. It's not some $30 dollar a jar of organic honey, its just a three dollar honey i bought from walmart in a little bottle shaped like a bear I <3 it. It makes my skin feel so clean and I 100% believe it makes my skin heal faster, and that it makes my face have an even skin tone.
Vaseline petroleum jelly cream, deep moisture, (creamy formula)--- This is my moisturizer, its non comedogenic, hypo allergenic, and fragrance free. It doesn't make me break out and it doesn't leave my skin oily. I do have oily skin, but it seems like if i apply a moisturizer my skin doesn't feel the need to keep producing more oil throughout the day.
Green tea with lemon juice--- (drinking it) No clue if it works but it's supposed to and i think it's tasty and soothing. It's supposed to be anti inflammatory and...idk other cleansing things that work well with lemon.
Purpose Liquid Cleanser-- Sorta expensive for a soap, but its the only kinda that I trust, oil free, non comedogenic, fragrence free, and soap free. Doesn't dry out my skin, and feels great after I shave.
Makeup-- I know.. I'm a guy but I am always looking for a better concealer. My scars are just so bad I feel like crying when I look into the mirror, but makeup has really helped a lot. I'm not going to write about each individual type of makeup I use but basically I put on my moisturizer, then a green based concealer, and then a liquid foundation ( liquids look 100x more natural than powders just fyi)
My skin is really clearing up from the amoxicillin and honey masks so by the end of May I'm going to be adding more to my skin routine to get rid of my acne scars including:
vitamin E ( to fade scars)
hazel witch oil ( to clean and get rid of reddness)
a better shaving cream that doesn't mess up my skin
---thanks for reading...or skimming lol
Hi this is my first blog entry, I'm going to try really hard to stick with this to see if I'm improving, and updating it as much as I can. I've just turned 16, I'm a boy, and I've had acne since I was 10. I've been trying so hard since forever to help my skin, and in the last month I've joined acne.org to read and post about reviews on products.
Uhm... the next entry will be about the products I use and how often and such, so anyways thanks if you read this, and if you know any cool blogs to follow or you want to me follow yours just let me know
