My period is a week late and I KNOW my breakout is because of that. Ugh, it's so frustrating. I don't even want to go to work because I feel so disgusting. My chin and jaw area and near my mouth is breaking out the worst and also up the side of my right cheek. They all seem to be papules but they seem to be clustering together. Two large pimples under the skin above both my eyebrows. A lot of redness and PIH. I need my period to start so I can start birth control. I asked my doctor for an Rx for Ortho Tri Cyclen. I was thinking that all the times I was clear in the past, I also was on birth control. Currently, I've been off the pill for about 7 months now and my skin is consistently getting worse. Hopefully birth control will balance my hormones and bring my skin peace. I have a doctor appointment on June 8th and I'm going to talk to him about possibly doing Accutane.

Not really any new pimples - just healing from the larger ones from a few days ago. I feel really lousy about my skin. I feel like my problem is stemming from something internally - i.e. hormones. I don't really know what to do about that. I can eat better. I don't want to go back on birth control pills but I remember when I was consistently clear I was on the pill. If I don't see improvement in a few months (3 months) then I might consider birth control pills. I'll follow up with my doctor in August and see what he says as well. The topicals I'm using are great for surface pimples but I feel do nothing for the deep pimples within my skin. But then again, healthy skin means consistent skin care so maybe the topicals will work their magic in a few months.

Okay I take back yesterday's post. Ugh, I have several larger pimples under the skin. I have about 4 on my right cheek and 2 on my left. I have a scattering of pimples on my chin. My forehead has whiteheads becoming more visible. My inner cheeks are continuing to break out because of the clogged pores. Ugh I am so sick of this! How was none of this really visible yesterday? I really blame my hormones. I'm due for my period any day and hopefully this breakout subsides.

Flaking slightly, not too bad though. No active acne. I can feel some pimples under the skin but not too sure they'll develop. Skin has a really nice glow to it and dark spots on left cheek or fading really nicely thanks to the differin. Forehead pretty clear, inner cheeks next to nose are healing from a few pesky pimples. Chin has some scabs and I can feel a few pimples underneath. Today is probably the best my skin has looked since I began the duac and differin regimen. I'm going to stay constant with this routine and am very hopeful!

Seeing some clearing, skin looks like it's glowing and not itchy! I've got a tender papule next to my nose that's almost ready but I'm not touching it and just put BP on it. My chin area is recovering from a breakout. I think the medicines are working!

I woke up today (my day off) and decided to forgo makeup today. I avoided mirrors all day and stayed inside to study. I could feel my skin was terrible and forced myself to look in the mirror. I wanted to cry. 2 small pustules on my right cheek (usually my clear side). A large pustule on the end of my left eyebrow. Whiteheads scattered across my left cheek and forehead. Pustules on my chin. This is definitely a breakout. I don't know if I should link it to my period coming next week or an initial breakout due to the duac and differin. I'm leaning towards the duac and differin because I never have too much of a breakout due to my period. God, I'm so sad about this. I don't even want to go out in public. I just want my skin to heal and clear. I don't know what to do. Bleh.

This is my 11th day on Duac and Differin. Skin is itchy, especially my forehead and above my eyebrows. My skin looks dull and flakes if I apply too much of the medications the night before. I might be having an initial breakout or a breakout due to my period coming next week. Clogged pores and a couple of small, not yet formed pimples on my cheeks next to my nose. I'm not going to touch them. My forehead has tons of tiny bumps, none of them having a whitehead - they are more like clogged pores. My chin area is feeling a little bumpy and is probably going to break out soon. Overall, I'm not feeling too great about my skin. It itches, feels dry, and I feel papules coming under the skin but haven't developed yet. I just would like these medications to start working asap. Skin rating: 2/10 This is what I'm doing: Wash with Mary Kay Oil Free Cleanser Tone with Mary Kay Toner Apply a small amount of Duac to entire face Wait 10 minutes Apply a small amount of Differin to entire face Wait 10 minutes Apply Mary Kay Timewise moisturizer
