It's been ridiculously long since I've written in here.
I've been taking 40 mg one day and 80 mg the next day, and have been alternating like that for about a month now.
It was going extremely well, everyone was complementing me on my skin. My skin wasn't too dry, and with a little make-up my skin looked awesome.
I knew my derm told me not to go in the sun, but people also told me that when they were on the same dosage as me, their skin was peeling off, and they were just miserable. I was't. So I went out in the sun. TERRIBLE idea. I went out, basically all day. The next morning I woke up with all of these little bumps all over my face and chest. They were like non-itchy hives. They were terrible, and make-up just made them look worse. It's been about three days, and I'd say about 90% of the bumps went away. But, my face is SUPER dry. To the point where i can't even really move it. I tried about 3 different kinds of moisturizers, and nothing seems to be working. I just started a new job last week, and I have to speak to customers and everything, so I'm trying everything.
ALSO, I was using cetaphil moisturizer and it made my face break-out! just my right side of my face too (I think it's because I sleep on that side) but some of the pimples, which are going away realy fast, are leaving really dark red spots. I'm just aggravated because my skin was looking so good up until this point
So I'm on day 25 and my lips are literally ready to fall off. I have to peel them every morning and make sure I'm constantly caking on chapstick. My face isn't too dry, but I have to moisturize it every morning and night. Also, my scalp is crazy dry.
I haven't had any big breakouts so far. My skin's actually pretty smooth on my cheeks and I haven't had a new breakouts. I'm just surprised at all of the scarring that I have. I'm going to the derm. tomorrow, and I think he's going to up my dosage, so I'm super scared of what the side effects are going to be like! It stinks that I'm doing this going into the summer
Overall though, my experience isn't too bad so far. We'll see what happens!
Today was the first day that I really started noticing the effects of this treatment.
First of all, my scalp is ridiculously dry. I used a dandruff shampoo though this morning so hopefully that helps it a little!
Also, my nose feels like it's chapped and i've been caking on the chapstick ALL day.
My forehead and ears were really dry today, and my face was red and just kind of burned all day. I can't wait for all of this to get worse haha
As for pimples..I have three baby ones on my forehead and I can feel some coming on my chin, but other than that, I haven't seen any signs of an IB.
Things are going well so far, hopefully they'll stay this way
So I took my 2nd dose last night and when I woke up this morning, around my chin was peeling a bit, and my nose felt like it was chapped and I had a little bit of peeling on my eyelids. But besides that my face feels pretty good!!
I'm still hoping that I don't get an initial breakout!! We'll see
So, here's a really quick about me
I'm a 19 year old female college student. I have always had a few pimples here and there but this year I've really flared up. I've tried everything from Clean and Clear, to Neutrogena, to AcneFree, to Retin-a, Aczone, Doryx, Duac and nothing works. I DO NOT have severe acne, I'd say it's moderate. I figured that Accutane wasn't an option for me until my Dermatologist suggested it to me last month, because my face is starting to scar. Needless to say, with all of the side effects, I was VERY skeptical. But I guess I'll try it. My derm. suggested that I keep a log about it, so I figure i'll just do it on this
I took my first dose today after dinner and it has now been 7 hours and my chin area is already dying out and the corners of my nose are starting to get sore. I'm excited to see what happens because I've heard nothing but great things about this medicine, I'm just super nervous for the initial break out! Well, I guess not I can only wait to see what happens
