An Extra Hole

So I recently got my nose pierced. It makes it difficult to do my routine sometimes, but I think I've got the hang of it. I have to use this spray about 3 times a day (though I haven't really made it priority lately. shame on me) it's called H2Ocean and it's a starile saline spray packed with enzymes and stuff. I spray it on my nose and I think it might me breaking me out. I've noticed a couple zits poppin up on my right side, which is where I have to spray.. Is that possible? Does it really break you out? I don't think it matters, my skin's getting used to it because I'm not seeing too many anymore. Anyhoo, an update on my acne, I do realize that being on birth control has really cleared me up in companionship with the Regimen. I was off the pill an extra week because I didn't get the prescription filled in time so I broke out a bit.. All is well, though. I'm back on track. I'm in search for a cheap, non-comedogenic, gentle scar treatment for sensitive skin. Any recommendations? I have a few acne scars mostly on the sides of my face, they're red but not indented. I can count maybe one or two icepick scars.. But I'd like to treat those. That's all, folks. hey, watch my success story from acne.org! xoxo/e

Success!

Watch my Success Story! "These pictures don't look too severe in the video, mostly because I avoided the camera. Would you want something so inflammed and unsightly staining someone elses photograph? So I only have a few pictures of my face with breakouts. Also, I'm not wearing makeup in this video. I've suffered from moderate acne since 2005. After trying mulitiple "remedies", I discovered Dan Kern's "The Regimen": a BP based, gentle system that works. I'm not being paid for advertising, I seriously love this product. Go to Acne.Org for more details and Dan Kern's fantastic system. All skin is different, so I can't promise anything, but I'm honest when I say Acne.Org's Regimen saved my face."

Fin

The reason I started this blog was because I was struggling with moderate-severe acne that wouldn't cease... I've only posted 3 entries and I'm completely clear. Isn't that fantastic? Isn't it unreal? I'm not used to feeling my face and it being smooth, no flinching or wincing. I'm not used to not having to wear makeup. I'm not used to rubbing my skin. I'm not used to looking for a zit to pick and not finding anything. I'm not used to not sheilding my face. I'm not used to taking pictures and not having to retouch them. weird. I'd only been using Dan's Treatment (2.5% BP) for 2 and a half weeks when I started clearing up. Me, whose been looking for an answer for 6+ years since I began middle school. I honestly couldn't imagine myself with clear skin and it's a remarkable feeling! It's been maybe a month and I only get a pimple or two. I still have blackheads on my nose, that's it. I have scars... The red dots scattering over my face that could be mistaken as acne. Thankfully, not the indented, icepick holes. I'm almost possitive it's only hyperpigentation, post inflammitory something. Something that could fade with time, this is my next quest. hopefully a shorter one at that. VULGAR-is: fin. the end

Acne.Org Treatment Review

Last week, I recieved the 16 oz. BP Treatment that Dan Kern developed. I only bought this step simply because I can buy his other two steps (cleanser and moisturizer) in a much cheaper setting (I.E. Walmart, FTW). I had been using Proactiv's Treatment (Step 3) because I was using up what ever I had left of this system after canceling Proactiv. I'm happy with my purchas so far. 1. The first thing I notice is the wonderful size of the tube. This is probably twice the size of Proactiv and a bit cheaper in the long run. 2. Next, I notice the smell. This stuff is really potent and tends to make my eyes water, but I suppose it's well worth it. 3. What really pops out is the viscosity (thickness). It's so much easier to apply opposed to the Proactiv cream. It's a gel so it's very easy to spread across my skin. 4. But since it is a gel, it does take a little longer to dry. 5. It works. As said in previous entries, I have VERY stubborn, inconsistant acne and a lot of it. But since I've started this rendition of The Regimen, I've seen fantastic results. I really only have a couple here and there, opposed to the uncountable constellations that covered my skin. I'm left with red marks: hopefully hyperpigmentation and not scarring. Thank you, Dan!

A Journey Through Topicals

I promised in my previous entry that I would post my trials and tribulations in trying to heal my moderate acne. Keep in mind, I've been suffering since 2006 and I can't remember half of the things I've tried or the order I tried them in. Back then, I was also inconsistent and willing to try anything. So this is in no particular chronilogical order. In Short, What's Worked: Benzoyl Peroxide. What Hasn't: Salicylic Acid. Cleansers: -Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash (ineffective) -Biore Detoxify Daily Scrub (didn't use long, felt nice, ineffective, sort of irritating) -Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub (Inneffective on face, Ok for exfoliation, great for chest/back.) -Biore Blemish Fighting Ice-Scrub (Feels great, but ineffective) -Body Shop TEA TREE Skin Clearing Cleanser (Felt Ok, contains Alcohol, Very Ineffective) -Anything and Everything Clearasil (Ineffective) -REN (Just a sample, felt nice, too expensive) Treatments/Lotions: -Clean&Clear Dual Action Moisturizer (Felt nice, but ineffective) -Anything and Everything Clearasil (Ineffective) -PeterThomasRoth AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel (Very Irritating, ineffective) Systems: - AcneFree for Severe (Shouldn't have used Severe, EXTREMELY Irritating, smells gross, ineffective, over-drying) - Proactiv 3-Step System (Kind of works, Cleanser irritates, smells, good Treatment [step 3]) Other: -Neutrogena Rapid Clear On-the-Go Acne Treatment Pen (ineffective, peely) -Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask (Ineffective, can't remember) -AcneFree Sulfer Mask (Gets VERY hard, irritating, slightly ineffective) -ZAPZYT Spot Treatment (Cakey, Irritating?, Can't Remember) -Anything and Everything Clearasil (Ineffective) -Malin+Goetz Detox Face Mask (FANTASTIC, much too expensive) -Body Shop TEA TREE Skin Clearing Toner (Ineffective, with Alcohol, but feels nice) -Proactiv Oil Free Moisture SPF 15 (Doesn't moisturize very well) -Proactiv Daily Oil Control (Slightly Effective, Time consuming, Unnecessary) Currently Using: - Purpose Cleanser (AM/PM) - Acne.Org Treatment (AM/PM) -Neutrogena Sensitive Moisture (AM) - CeraVe PM Moisturizer (PM) - Ponds Dry Skin Cream (AM/PM. Around eyes, on neck) - Aura Cacia Jojoba Oil (AM/PM. Added to moisturizers.) - Clean&Clear PERSA-GEL 10 Acne Spot Treatment (Pm) - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub (Chest/Back) - Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (PM. Every 4 days, nose) = Fabulous, Nearly Completely-Clear Skin!

Acne VULGAR-is

I'm a 17 year old female teen who has suffered from moderate acne vulgaris (common acne with a very appropriate name) since my 6th grade of middle school. Allow me to introduce you to my skin: Salut, I live in the desert, so its 118 in the summer and often humid.. This means pore-clogging sweat and a lot of it, but I stay away from the sun and always wear sunscreen. My t-zone is oily, yet the rest of my face is normal to dry, so I have combination skin. I break out terribly on my cheeks and jaw line. I've tried almost everything under the sun but have found a couple things worth keeping (WHICH I'LL POST IN A LATER ENTRY) BP is my partial-hero, but Sal-Acid has been nothing more than an acquaintance. I'm extremely consistant with my routine. I'm a rebel but have seen the error of my ways: I'm a picker, but I'm working on this... I'm sort of obsessed with makeup cuz I'm so insecure with my face, but am smart enough to use oil free and non-comedogenic, change my sponge everyday, and remove it when I'm home from school. But lately, I haven't worn anything more than eyeliner, mascara, and some finishing powder. I'm still deciding which foundations to use. Recommendations are welcome.. I'm insecure and very upset with my appearance, but I'm generally okay coping with stress.. And since I'm an active theatre student, its important to have clear skin on stage. This also means I have to wear a lot of makeup for my performances... I have a healthy diet and ride my bike to and from school so I get decent exersize. I sleep well and often... My parents didn't break out a lot to my knowledge, but I was told my sister had worse acne than I did when she was my age.. Her skin is clear now, we're 10 years apart. I know a lot of it is hereditary.. So what am I doing wrong? And more importantly, what can I do to make it go away? Sincerely, - e
