I have recently started using Retin-A 0.1% cream every other night, BP 2.5% on the mornings of the night I didn't use the Retin-A, also toner of witch hazel every morning, along with a good aloe moisturizer from Mario Badescu. My acne has cleared from my forehead and cheeks, but I've started to have the initial breakout on my neck area, along my jaw line. Tons of big red irritating bumps, that are painful! I hate this phase of medication. My face is dry and tight feeling, but I guess its better then oily and gross feeling. I live in a very dry, cold climate also...which does not ever seem to help matters for acne clearing well. The summer time always seems to help, but we only get to see the sun a few months out of the year. I hope this regimen works well, and works for a good period of time. I used benzaclin and retin-a in the past along with taking doxycycline for a very long time, but it seemed that after awhile things just got worse and the acne just kept spreading. I have restarted this regimen, and hope that it works this time!
This is so irritating! I am so sick of not being able to leave the house without makeup and feeling embarrassed about my skin. Ive decided to stop the ACV because it burns way to much on my skin and is causing me to break out way worse. I just can't handle the burn anymore. I have decided to go back to using Retin-A, and a gentle face wash with a witch hazel toner. I have been doing this for about a week now, and my face is broke out bad, but I need to stick with this. I bought the Mario badescu drying lotion and that works well for nasty whiteheads. I am also using their healing and soothing mask twice a week. I am keeping my fingers crossed for this to at least help a little bit down the road.
My skin has been so broke out for the last month, that I had decided to stop all my hash acne treatments because of them not doing their job. I started to use ACV after washing with a mild sensitive skin dove soap, then a oil-free moisturizer. I have been doing this for about a week. The big cysts went away, but soon developed stubborn little bumps on my jawline and right below my lip. I also go bumps on my forehead, and I hardly ever breakout there anymore! A few weeks ago I ordered some products from Mario Badesau....sp? I just received my package yesterday. I ordered a soothing and healing mask, drying lotion and an aloe moisturizer. I decided to try them out last night, even though I was going to stick to the ACV for 6 weeks. I washed my face with my normal sensitive skin soap, did the mask for 20 minutes and applied the drying lotion before bed. Drying lotion stings like HELL. Just FYI to anyone who is reading this..lol I woke up this morning. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a difference. Some little bumps I had are GONE, others are much smaller in size and the pimple i have been struggling with for a week on my lips is just about gone. Yesterday it was a large red, pus filled beast from hell.
I did alot of research on those products, and most people said they where not worth the money. Ill keep you updated on the products. So far, after one night...I recommend the drying lotion at least!
I am a 26 year old female who has been struggling with acne for as long as I can remember. I have spent thousand of dollars buying acne products that don't work! During high school I always tried over the counter products, and of course, no results. As I got older, my acne seemed to get better until the past 3 years. I had a baby in 2008 and since then my skin has been out of control! I tried Murad, Proactiv, skin ID....again with no results. Ive been to a dermatologist, which their treatment seem to give some results, but not much. Their treatment included doxycycline, retin-a at night and benzaclin in the morning. I used those products for close to a year, but just recently have gotten frustrated with them because they stopped working! I have decided to go off of all of that and try just a mild soap and apple cider vinegar. My skin is getting worse. I am going to continue to use the ACV for 6 weeks to see if I get results.
