I just underwent a Fraxel laser treatment with a cosmetic surgeon who specializes in this.
I just read some horror stories about this laser treatment on the internet. It was stupid of me to get this treatment before I did more extensive research.
I heard this procedure was fairly new too.
Talking to my doctor, she obviously said it was safe and effective.
I did one Fraxel laser treatment on my cheeks for acne pitting and scarring. (pits are not that big).. size of a spot when you poke a paper with a regular ball pen. But i had a bit around my cheeks so i decided to do this treatment.
Anyways. Main concern is LONG TERM effects. (+2 years)
I read one article where this woman had this procedure done and had sores and pigmentation all over where she had fraxel done 2 years after the procedure. She thought it was due to DNA damage done before and when the outer clear skin shed, it revealed the DNA damaged skin that was underneath for 2 years. I don't know if this is true.. this is what she experienced.
In any case, I want to how any person is doing after treatment for fraxel.
In the begging it is good of course.. my skin looks smooth as of now. I am talking about the patients who have done fraxel for more than a year or two.
note: I am also doing my best to stay out of the sun. I am also using alot of sunscreen during the day and aloe at night. Hopefully the lady had sores and pigmentation because she did not wear sunscreen.
I am also 20 years old. if this is even relevant. haha.
