combination therapy

July 17th, O.K, so I'm on day 12 of my first pack of Yasmin bcp. I'm also using Stievamycin at night on my chin only and clindoxyl gel at night (forehead and cheeks) and during the day over entire face. I'm also doing Blu U sessions as well. Something has to work! Compared to 2 wks ago, I have less pimples and I think I have a reduction in blackheads and maybe a slight bit of oil reduction as well. I went about 3 days without any new spots, but I just got a new one yesterday It is a red under the skin one and I've zeno'd it 3 times already. I hope I've managed to cut down its lifespan. I should mention that so far I'm only breaking out on my chin thats why I'm putting the stieva just on my chin. This has always been my problem area. During the day I put the clindoxyl gel over my entire face followed with moisturizer. I'm going to my derm. today to see if there is anything else I can do or use to get clear. I know I need to be a bit more patient b/c its not going to clear up over night. But I hope that it keeps getting better.

Initial blog

Well here I am at 33 yrs old still battling with this! VERY FRUSTRATING! Here is a bit about my past history with acne: As a teenager I was on antibiotics, topical creams, OTC products and I've done 5 courses of Accutane: 1st at 14yrs old then 16, 17, 19, and 22. At 22yrs old after the last course of accutane my dr. put me on Diane 35 and spironolactone as well as adapalene. I had great skin for the time I was on this (about 7yrs with the Diane and adapalene. I quit taking the spiro thinking it wasn't doing much) and my skin was great. Then in 2008 about a year after I had a baby my skin started to breakout again. I went back on Diane and spiro and I also started using Stievamycin gel. I was clear in about a month. I stayed on this until the spring of '09 when we decided to have another baby. My second child is 5mo. old now and my skin is starting to breakout again, however, this time I'm breastfeeding so I am limited to what I can take. My OB gave me a rx for Yasmin so I've just started taking it (on my 8th pill) and I go to a derm in a couple of days. So far with the yasmin I've experienced some mild cramping, bloating and a bit of nausea. My skin is still about the same (my acne is mild but I know if I don't do something now it will get out of control). Right now my skin is oily in the T zone and I have a lot of blackheads on my chin. I'll see how things go. I've read alot of the reviews for yasmin and many say it made their skin worse. I have my fingers crossed that it won't do that for me. I guess I have to wait and see what happens.
