Wow haven't been on in a LONG time! Been beyond busy, kind of forgot about this site actually. So this is just a quick update because I see no point spending forever on a machine.
I am still using Birth Control as a skin clearing method, and it's still doing okay. It keeps the cystic acne away which I will forever be thankful for. However I still get some little pimples, and I honestly don't freak out about it anymore. I don't' need it to be perfectly clear, sure I want that but hey I'm a teenager; it happens. Anyways, since I still want to try and keep a simple routine, yet effective, I have also included Carley's Clear and Smooth Treatment into my routine. Only once a day, I use it at night, I use their Kick Ass Industrial Strength Teen formula after doing a light prewash with Aveeno. I just started this particular strength not too long ago so my skin is still adjusting, I will say that even their normal teen wash did wonders for my skin. I was however also in Ireland for that time, I'm still sticking with my theory that Ireland's the reason my skin cleared up. Anyways, so far it's going good, summer is rolling around the corner and I can't wait! It's weird to think that I started this whole site last summer.. ! I'm doing a lot to improve self esteem this summer and finally become the person I want to be, no more stupid excuses, so that's my project and I might follow up, however until then; good luck and happy skin
I finally discovered what was causing my breakouts! At least, I'm almost 99.9% sure.
Last week I drank a TON of juice! I was careful not to choose the crap loaded with sugar so I went with the Simply stuff... and yes it still had a lot of sugar, even if they were natural sweetners.. in the end sugar is sugar and my body apparently really hates it. Well that and all the other crap I had last weekend.. Anyways, now that it's over with I'm sort of going through a detox process because like i said.. I had a lot of sugar. That is going to make me breakout too because as the detox continues, it's constantly getting all the bad stuff out, which always happens to be on your face. Oh well.. I've come to terms with the face that my skin is not very good at the moment.. Hopefully it get's better soon as I'm also planning to hopefully not wear a drop of makeup this weeked, so fresh and so clean
On the brightside, I did order this Ponds dark spot correcting moisturizer, it's like 10$ from Walgreens but only online sadly. However it got great reviews so I'm really excited to see the results in a few weeks. I also got new cover up, I hate liquid makeup and tend to avoid it completely, but the powder stuff wasn't working too well and I ordered this LA Minerals Makeup. It's actually good for your skin so woo! And it looks great, just a little tip if anyone is looking for a new brand.. It is a little pricey, but it lasts a LONG time if you just go little by little and don't overload.
Well that's my advice and epiphany from the week, and now to start my lovely 4 1/2 day weekend!
Gahh I don't know what's making me breakout, honestly it's been worse this month than in a while. I have a stupid cyst on my chin and right on the edge of my lip! It's not my diet because I haven't even had junk food, sugar or anything like that in a long time, I'm still washing my face twice a day etc... So anyways that's just annoying but I ordered Carley's Clear and Smooth Treatment face wash so hopefully that can help before I leave on my trips. This is just a bad month
This month has just been breakout central for me sadly. I'm not sure why but I've been breaking out just about everyday, nothing like absolutely HUGE, but a lot on my forehead, like around 4 right now, and that really hasn't happened in months. Also some little under the skin white dot things around my cheek and mouth, ahh I don't know what is causing this but I really don't like it. Other than that, went to my doctor last week and got a full year of Tri-Nessa BC. Tips for any girls thinking of starting birth control: My doctor gave me this because it's meant more for acne and has less side effects, however in my case it took a long time to start working, made me breakout really bad the first few months, and you can never really tell which month it's going to decide to work or not. However, it does help tone it down if anything, and maybe depending on the severity, make it almost completely gone. I didn't experience any weight gain on this either, which as we all know is a plus.
so there ya go, hope everyone is having an awesome start to a new year, i'll try and update soonish.
Been a little whilee since my last post, I've beeen super busy. Anyways I'm really excited to be posting this because for the first time I can see that I'm about 98% clear! Whoa, never thought I'd say that! It could even be almost 100, depends on the week really. However, I'm just sorta on top of thee moon right now with that news, and my scars are fading! Slowly, but they are definitely getting lighter, and my skin is evening out pretty well. I got this new face wash, Boot's Botanic's Deep pore Cleansing Complexion thingy. Anyways it's about 8 bucks at target, but worth every penny. It's a foam wash, and it does really well at not drying out your skin. I also switched my toner to Thayers Witch Hazel toner, it works really well, doesn't try out skin; in fact it even helps keep it nice and moisturized. Then at night, dab on some AcneFree repair lotion and then slab a whole bunch of Ponds dry cream face lotion on and I'm set. So in case anyone is looking for new routines, this one works really great! Just to be clear though, I did start with the entire AcneFree collection, and slowly worked my way to only using the face wash at night, and the lotion when needed. Other then that it's just washing and toning twice a day.
Okay so in my last entry, I was saying how I was breaking out pretty bad this week and didn't know why since it had been clearing up pretty well, and now I think I know why! This last week or so I've been drinking a lot of Chai Tea, like at least two a day usually, and when I make them I fill half the glass with milk.. Well I know that they say cow's milk can be bad for the skin because of the hormones, and since last week, I didn't drink any milk. So there's my answer and I'm 99.9% sure that's the reason why, so if you're anything like me, good ol cow milk might not be right for you, sadly.. I'm going to miss my tea
So for a little bit, I was actually really clearing up and lemme tell you, it was the best feeling ever! But for some reason this week I've broken out pretty bad, worse then normal, especially because my forehead stayed clear for a good amount of time and not it's going crazy, probably the bangs. Anywhoo, still on my same reg. but I've updated a little bit and it seems to be working okay.
In the mornings I use my St. Ives Naturally clear face wash. Then I use Alba's toner, and some cetephil moisturizer. I'm sure it would all work better if it was the same brand but oh well.
At night I use the St. Ives again, then apply my AcneFree face wash. Tone, moisturize with my boots no.7 night time stuff, and every other night I use a facial mask. Also if needed, Nixoderm is my spot treatment. Along with AcneFree moisturizer. Seems like a lot I know.. but hey whatever helps. If anyone knows of a good product that evens skin tone though.. you should let me know!!
Oh and I found this new exfoliating recipe! SUPER simple, but awesome!
I pour some EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil in my hand, and the extra virgin part is important because it's the kind that doesn't have all this other crap in it. Then rub that on your face for around a minute or so. After that, leave on the olive oil and then rub your face with sugar. It does feel rough, obviously, but it works great!! If you don't like how rough it is, you can always add more olive oil after the sugar, that helps. Then rub it off with a wet wash cloth and feel the softness
So I think it's my last week before month four on birth control, yay..? There have been changes, no doubt. But the scars are killing mee, seriously it looks like I always have blemishes on my face because of these scars, when I really don't. The other week I had a LITTLE breakdown about the stupid acne and my birth control not working and decided to buy the AcneFree kit. It's basically like the regimen, benzol peroxide and then more of it. But it cleared up my bad breakout in around three days..WOW. It did dry out my face however, so I had to tone down using the wash twice a day to every night. I've had 2 or 3 pimples in the last week maybe with this.. and they were TINY so hopefully if I stay on everything I'm doing it'll be better. I've been getting a little side tracked on my healthy eating with Halloween and all, but I'll get back on track!
So i've been on my birth control for about 3 1/2 months now, and I'm really not seeing any changes. I felt like it cleared up for a while, but I've never had acne this bad before. I'm getting a cyst on my chin, ew. And wake up every day with a least one or two new pimples around my mouth and now they're all over my forehead. So by trying to clear these up, my skin is once again dry meaning makep doesn't work. I'm going to stick it out and see how it goes in the next month or two, but apparently the birth control i'm taking (TriNessa) doesn't work as well as some others so I'm really wondering why my doctor put me on the one that's less effective. I REALLY don't want to start over :/
Hello again! It's been a while since my last update, school makes me busy Anywhoo, I'm getting kinda annoyed, I mean I start to clear up, and then outta nowhere get HUGE breakouts. I mean I guess to some people they aren't considered huge, but I hate them in general so to me its a big deall haha. I've been trying to clear up a recent breakout, I think it might have been from a goodtimes sandwich I had.. apparently my body hates that food, considering I never eat it... So staying away from that foreverrr and ever. I think my vitamins are helping a good amount, and hopefully the birth control is starting to really have an effect. I don't really get those painful cysts on my chin anymore, and those little bumps around my mouth are starting to decrease. Better late then never I guess..
So i'm really super bored right now, seeing as its 1 in the morning, home alone, and therefor, can't sleep. Soo I thought I'd mention the little repair routine that I've been working on this week. I have a school break for a couple days so i figured now is the time to fixx it all.
In the mornings I wash my face with an exfoliating scrub, the Loreal 360 one. Then I use the Sea Breeze toner, and last but not least my AHA from this site. At night it's just about the same routine except I put on the Proactive refining mask, which seems to be working well! Also, if anyone's wondering, I didn't buy the entire proactive set, I just got the mask off of amazon for like 6 bucks.
I also read that if you use 3 different cotton balls while applying toner you spread a lot less bacteria around your face. So I use one on my forehead, one on my cheeks and nose, and then one on my chin, and that seems to be working well too. So far so good, I'll keep you all posted.
Ughh this has been a bad breakout week, like BAD. I don't know if it's because I switched my toner or the fact that my face just hates me. I'm really so sick of this, I didn't have acne this bad AT ALL before I started the regimen in June, after I stopped my face just went crazy on me. I have like a million scars, which isn't so bad because I know they'll fade, but also all those little white bumps under the skin, around the mouth area and above it are SOOOO annoying and NEVER go away!!! I read that it might be a reaction to toothpaste, but I never had them before this summer so why would I have a reaction now? Anyways, it's been a stressful week/weekend, but I'm starting month three of my birth control next Sunday, so maybe I'll actually start seeing some results here.
Hellooo! Hope everyone's weekend was well! I spent mine writing papers.. oh well soon to be over! About half way in to my second month of BC, and the results are great! I'm still getting pimples, but nothing like I used to. Severe! scarring of course, but I can live with that. Hopefully within the next month it will be even more clear, then I can start and heal my scars. For any girl who really has tried everything, I would highly recommend going and talking to a doc about birth control, it saved my face!
Not too much new to report.. I might breakout kinda bad this week.. I just loaded up on coffee since I'm pulling an all nighter, hello sugar! I also haven't been eating the absolute best. However, tonight is really exciting for me becausee my nephew is going to be born! YAY. So I'm writing from the hospital, trying to finish a project due tomorrow that I haven't even started. I also don't have any of my face stuff for tonight.. good ol water n soap for the night, and I also couldn't take my vitamins or BC. Breakout time.
sorry it's been so long since my last post, school makes me a busy bee! Today is the last today of BC, week 1 of month 2. I have seen great results with this. I mean, I still occasionally 'breakout', like this weekend was a horrible breakout weekend for me, I think it was the Sonic I ate.. Anyways, other then that, I usually only get MAYBE 1-2 pimples a day, which is heaven for me. My skin is also not dry anymore so I can wear makeup and look normal My regimen is pretty basic, I just felt the need to keep it simple.
I use Loreal 360 cleanser morning & night. Then I tone with the Special Cucumber Lotion, morning and night. Moisturizer morning & night. Then if needed, I use Buffering Lotion. Basic. My skin still isn't very clear looking because of all the scars from the first month of birth control, but it's on it's way. At the end of this month I'll change up the regimen a bit, you know, do something to help lighten the scars. I also on occasion use some facial cleansing pads, to get all the makeup off before I was my face, DOUBLE CLEAN So I'm slowly on my way to clearer skin...
So I'm assuming that all these breakouts around my mouth, it's most likely because of the BC and getting used to it. My doctor said it might make it worse before it gets better, but the BC should start kicking in within this next month. Other then that, my recent breakout (yesterday) is healing pretty well. I got this new make-up primer from Pixi.. OH MY! This stuff is amazing! It's gives an amazing glow, doesn't clog pores, and has all these vitamins and moisturizes as well! It was 30$... so pretty expensive but so worth it! AHH! I'm very excited to wear it again tomorrow. So I found my savior until my acne clears up
In case anyone's wondering it's called Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer, I got mine at Target. I seriously recommend this stuff!
Friday, I LOVE YOU! Ahh sweet sweet weekends So in my last blog I talked a little about an Ultimate game on Thursday, so that was weird. First of all, I had to cover a chick who was seriously like a damn ninja, she NEVER stopped running around, then my stupid shin splints came back so I had to sit out the rest of the time, and now my 'coach' wants me to go to a doctor.. lame. Anyways, my face has been pretty dry and flaky this week. I broke out a bit on my forehead, chin (of course), and cheek. It's so annoying, even when I get rid of all the breakouts on my chin, by the time I get home, there's a new pimple, EVERYDAY. However, I haven't really cared that much anymore, I'm too busy to really care, and I'm really not the only person with it so oh well. I added a new cleanser to my collection though, since I needed an exfoliating to get rid of some of the dry, dead skin. It's the Loreal 360 cleanser, I LOVE IT! People should really try it, it's cheap and works pretty well, and has a fun little scrub.
It's also been a while since I updated on the Mario products. Well, I don't really use them THAT much anymore. I use the Special Cucumber Cleansing Lotion twice a day, I like this stuff I just started using the Buffering Lotion a couple days ago, again, and It works SOO WELL! For those deeper pimples, yeah, It cleared mine up in about 2 days, so thank you Mario! I use the Healing and Soothing Mask as well, but that's about it. Until next time, lattah.
Hello 3rd week of birth control, you are my friend But really, I'm really excited to be on my third week because my doctor said it would take 1-2 months to start working, and 3 weeks is VERY close to 1 month Grr I had another little breakout on my chin.. seriously I don't know what it is, but my chin hasn't been fully clear in probably at least a year, there's ALWAYS a pimple there, and it's getting annoying. Especially all the scarring, whenever I'm clear one day, those scars better go away!
In a different little topic, I recently joined my schools Ultimate Frisbee team.. yeah I know, odd. Anyways, I love having the workout but my face gets SOOOOOO red it's really embarrassing. People have seriously asked what happened to me.. So that sucks, but I have a game on Thursday so it'd be nice to have clearer skin by then in case my cover up wears off, which it will, because I'll be dumping water on my face. Also, I'm doing this little 'trampoline' diet thing where you jump on a trampoline everyday for 30 minutes. Sounds more entertaining then other workouts, so I'm going to give it a try and see how well all that works
Until next time.
Hey guess what?!!?! I don't know what's doing it.. but my skin is looking better! Still a long way to go, but hey only about 3 tiny little pimples in the last couple days, woohoo! *knocks on wood*.
Here's my routine:
Oxy clinical face wash
Burt's Bee's exfoliating wash
Special Cucumber Lotion
Alba green tea moisturizer
and when I get home from school I use Oxy face pads to get off the cover up. I'm using Neutrogena Clear Skin cover-up, it has Salicylic Acid in it, and so far it works pretty good.
Oxy clinical face wash
Special Cucumber Lotion
Alba green tea moisturizer
Lemon Juice with a cotton ball
The nixoderm burns like hell, but goes away after a bit.
I'm using Baking soda masks occasionally as well.
And taking vitamins everyday.
Drinking lots of water, or trying to
And finally birth control, however I just started my second week on Sunday so I don't think it's affecting anything yet.
So far the repairing of my breakout is going okay. I got some more pimples on my forehead... those don't bother me too much though. My chin is still clearing up, and I stll have those little tiny under skin pimples or whatever, i call them bumps, all around my mouth and nose, and they are now appearing just all over my face wherever they feel like popping up. However, I'd take those over pimples any day. I think my face is slowly on it's way to becoming a little more clear. I feel lke once I follow a regimen without having to make adjustments, my face will be a lot better. Also, I need to get back to my healthy eating. I'm going to do a little water cleanse because I really need t. Also, I'm back on my vitamins, and tomorrow is starting my 2nd week of BC... yay, that's closer to 1 month, and 1 month is closer to 2, and it should help my face around then so woo! I'm also making baking soda masks apart of my regimen, around 3 times a week or so.
Okay I'm back from my trip, yay!! It was simply amazing! Ahh so much fun, worked my ass off, and had a blast with all the kids I was hardly ever thinking about my face.. okay that's a lie, I thought about it all the time, but there was nothing I could do so I got over it. However, I only had face pads to bring, and a little pimple blocker pen. I have a huge breakout on my chin, like massive, along with a little pimple above my lip, and two on my forehead, not too bad for 4 days without washing my face. Although I picked at my face a lot, so wa-lah! New scarring... Anyways, I looked terrible, but It'll fix itself up this weekend. I also ordered Nixoderm before I left, and it has arrived! I'm trying it tonight, so hopefully it helps heal this breakout, all in all, I just had the most fun in probably a year. AHHHHH
Well tomorrow I leave for my trip, and my face is looking so much better then last week, it's a miracle. Although I think I just inherited many new scars from last week's recent events I can't wash my face on the trip, however I can use some face pads and toner, so that's pretty good.
Today I tried a baking soda mask, since it got some really good reviews. A little advice, it burns the more sensitive skin, so from now on I keep it away from my nose, you might want to try that too. Otherwise, my skin did feel a lot softer afterward, and it looks a little better. I also got some new moisturizer: Alba green tea and somethin... Either way it works realllllly good, but it's pricey.
For a spot treatment, I tried some toothpaste, I mean it can't hurt right? I also got a little pimple blocker from Neutrogena for my trip. Otherwise, nothing new to report. Should be an interesting 4 days, there's also a pretty cutee guy goin so woo
Well considering I only had about 2 days to try and clear up my major breakout on Thursday/Wednesday, I think it's healing pretty good. On my chin, still the cyst under my lip although it's gone down a lot since I did the egg white and egg yolk masks today. There's one pimple/cyst thing on my chin as well, and it's surrounded by scars from the breakout, so it looks like I have a horrible.. i don't even know but it's really only stupid scars Oh well, nothing I can do about it right now. I'm starting to get some pimples on my cheek, which REALLY sucks because I've never gotten them there before, my cheeks usually stayed pretty clear.. Anywhoo, I've stopped with the Mario stuff just for now because it seemed to be making my skin worse, so here's the new regimen I've been doing this weekend to clear up:
Oxy face wash clinical
Oxy face pads
During the day I use Oxy face pads, especially after working out or wearing make up.
Oxy face wash clinical
Mario Badesuc special cucumber lotion
I'm also taking vitamins, including fish oil, which has Omega 3's, and those apparently are good for your skin. I'm also taking vitamin E, and starting BC tonight.
Wow.. major breakdown yesterday. I'm just stressed about going on this trip and pretty much being the only kid with some what bad acne. And nothing to help it for 4 days.. Anyways, this weekend I've been on major skin repair duty. I've researched a lot, since these Mario products aren't working fast enough for me, I need to try a different approach for now. So I went out and bought Oxy face cleanser, and Oxy treatment pads, and some Cetaphill moisturizer.. which I realized I already owned, just in a different bottle. Anyways, I started right away last night with just the face was and some moisturizer, then rubbed some white vinegar all over my face before bed. Warning, stings like hell for a couple minutes, smells a bit, but the stinging goes away. Anyways, my face is looking a little better today. My poor chin is just in need of MAJOR repair and rejuvenation. I mean there's a big cyst that's been there for about a week, an under the skin cyst which has yet to emerge, 2-4 new pimples, at least a new one everyday, and some healing scabs. Talk about bad eh? I don't know why but my chin never stops breaking out, it's NEVER clear, and I literally mean that. So today has been a some-what success in helping it repair, although that will take time, and once that happens, major scars. But on the bright side I didn't wear coverup today, and i was in a lot of pictures and everything, woohoo go me! I'm trying to get my complexion a little better, so I think some sun and fresh air should help. Also, I was just told about Nixoderm, and am wanting to try that, I just need to order it.
