*Day 40*

*DAY 40* *Progress* Still no more breakouts! A couple of the newer red marks actually dried up and flaked off completely which is awesome! Disappearing quite quickly with the AHA. Still a few lingering old ones though. Complexion is much smoother and more even and I love it! *Thoughts* Despite the stress of exams and design work I am managing to remain quite relaxed inside and am not breaking out - this has got to be the first time ever during exams!! So happy! I am so pleased with the regimen and I am only in month two - I plan to go at least 3 months of sticking at it so by then it should be great! Dan. *Regimen* WASH - Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Wash - Nice and gentle and feels really smoothing and great on the skin TREAT - Quinoderm 3 times a day. MOISTURISE - Simple replenishing daily moisturiser during day (when needed) and AHA Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion at night.

*Day 37* - Final Exams Time - Stressed Much???

*DAY 37* *Progress* No real breakouts at all this week. One old spot kinda came back for a quick visit lol but nothing much and it dried up quickly. The red marks seem to be fading quite well with the AHA. No more dryness, although chin is slightly red/pinkish, which is probably down to starting the AHA with the BP so no biggie. *Thoughts* Really happy there has been no more breakouts!! Seems as if its working well and the regimen is doing its thing on me! AHA lotion is awesome! My skin feels way smoother and complexion looks better already. Great buy! The red marks are continuing to fade, probably less than 10 bad ones now. The amazing thing is that its final exams and deadline time at uni so I'm about as stressed as can be.... and yet no breakouts! That's a first... Although, with my final architecture review coming up, sleep will be minimal, with at least a few all nighters to cram in design work. Also my diet always gets screwed up as quick meals and snacks start to become a must, and energy drinks and tea/coffee get overused like water. Not good but it kind of needs to be done when a review is coming. So I'll have to see whether the BP can control any breakouts that would normally happen. Fingers Crossed!!!

*Day 34*

*DAY 34* *Progress* Last breakout completely over, and no more active spots! WooP! lol The old spots have dried up and there are just red marks left, and some of the older red marks are fading quite fast. Started using AHA Enhanced Lotion (10% AHA) as night-time moisturiser - really like it although it does bring blackheads to surface within a couple of days of using so pores look a little bad right now. *Thoughts* So glad the last breakout is over and the red marks are healing / fading quickly! I'm optimistic about the regimen, and also about the AHA lotion. It feels really nice, and skin feels softer and smoother already. Going to keep using it every night and see if there is any reaction, but hopefully will be a great addition to my regimen. I think if there are no new breakouts, the red marks should be gone within a week or two as they aren't too bad, so fingers crossed!!

*Day 30* - a month down!

*DAY 30* *Progress* After the major breakout from my uni binge-ing my face has pretty much cleared up again. Couple of big red marks left, and one that's kind of raised a bit still on my jaw but that is it! Quite chuffed, but mainly relieved that missing my regimen for a few days and drinking alcohol didn't do too much damage. One thing I must add is that my back and shoulders still have a few spots dotted around which goes to show that the BP is working! *Thoughts* I'm a bit annoyed with myself still for losing track of the regimen for a few days, this mainly because today is the one month mark! I just know it would have been even better right now if I had stuck to it. But that adds to my determination to carry on with it in the future! My skin tone looks a bit better and no dryness at all which makes everything seem better - when the skins dry or red, no matter if there are no active spots, it kind of sucks. So hooray for end of the dryness!! My AHA better turn up soon as I'm buzzing with anticipation at using it at night. Hurry up postie!!! Dan. *Regimen* WASH - Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Wash - Nice and gentle and feels really smoothing and great on the skin TREAT - Quinoderm 3 times a day. MOISTURISE - Simple replenishing daily moisturiser during day and Boots vitamin e night cream before bed.

*Day 28* - Alcohol is BAD. But I'm back on track with the regimen!

*DAY 28* *Progress* OK, its been 10 days since I last updated which sums up really how the regimens gone... I went back to uni this week, and all the nights out drinking and seeing mates has got in the way of my regimen. Sucks. Big time. But I am officially back on track with it from today, as bought my new supply of BP and followed the regimen spot on today (punnnnn lol). The drinking definitely affected my skin. Broke out on both sides of my face and on my jawline/neck. Although the fact that I kept waking up late (hungover) and missing treatments and also missing the evening ones because being drunk does not help with the whole regimen thing lol. That was 2 days ago. About 10 spots dotted around my face. BUT the great thing is that I went out and bought more BP and started back on the regimen. 2 days down and the spots are almost completely gone. Just damned red marks left as usual. *Thoughts* OK so the laziness with sticking to the regimen was annoying and stupid. But its made me realise just how well it was working! So I am filled with new confidence and am going to strive to stick with it. One thing I would advise is that if you start running out of cleanser, BP or moisturiser get some more before its gone! I found that I was running on the drabs of my BP and couldn't run out to get more for a few days so that may be another reason for me losing the way of the regimen. I'm waiting on my AHA to be delivered still and excited! (How sad? lol) But the stupid volcano ash thingy has meant that all flights are delayed so my order from USA has been held up Hopefully be here soon. Want to say to anyone on the regimen: Stick at it. No matter what just stick to the regimen. It works! I'm annoyed with myself for letting slip, but I know I'm on the path to clear skin. HAPPY DAYS! Dan. *Regimen* WASH - Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Wash - Nice and gentle and feels really smoothing and great on the skin TREAT - Quinoderm 3 times a day. *Day 18* - I 100% recommend the regimen, great progress!!

*DAY 18* *Progress* I've not had any new spots this week at all! And all the old ones have dried up and are just red marks now, although they all seem to be smoothing out and disappearing quite quickly No real problems with dry skin. *Thoughts* Still no more problems with redness or dry skin, skin officially used to Quinoderm! Awesomeness. I think the breakouts have stopped properly now. Can't feel any more 'under the skin' ones (you know the ones that are obviously gonna breakout! Well none left!). I have ordered some AHA Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion from USA on ebay (I live in UK) for only £13 delivered which is great! Can't wait to start using it as I do have blackheads on nose still, and obviously the red marks. One thing slightly different the last few days, I felt that moisturising after every application was a bit much for me as the dryness has stopped ages ago. So I moisturise as and when I feel I need to. Skin seems to be a lot smoother and nicer (less oily I think) when I do this and I feel the BP works better, but that's just me. Still believe moisturising is a key part of the regimen, just not so much! I urge you to give the regimen a go if you haven't already! Dan. *Regimen* WASH - Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Wash - Nice and gentle and feels really smoothing and great on the skin TREAT - Quinoderm 3 times a day. *Day 14* 2 WEEKS DOWN!

*DAY 14* *Progress* Since the last update I've had one new spot, more of a blocked pore really, on my chin. One of those annoying ones that has a little bump and is crying to be messed with. Once I cleared it I put BP on as normal and it has dried and reduced already so that's good. Old breakout on right cheek from last week has gone down completely, just red marks left. Still some red marks left on my left side as well. *Thoughts* Still no more problems with redness or dry skin, skin officially used to Quinoderm! Awesomeness. Still having the odd breakout, but I'm OK with it. I KNOW the regimen is working for me, and one breakout every now and then is better than the usual 5+ every week! I'm doing my all to stick with this as I am very optimistic about it. The only thing now is my skin tone and red marks - going to buy some aha next week and start using it 3 times a week at night instead of moisturiser to try and battle this. Again, I definitely recommend the regimen! Its working great for me, as it has for others so give it a go. Dan. *Regimen* WASH - Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Wash - Nice and gentle and feels really smoothing and great on the skin TREAT - Quinoderm 3 times a day. *Day 12*

*DAY 12* Right, good news to start with! I am pretty sure my skin has gotten used to the regimen, including the new cleanser and moisturisers so I am going to stick with it everyday from now on (unless I see any adverse reactions etc.) YAY So Ill leave out the regimen part I've been posting and will put a simple regimen at the end of each post in case anyone wants to see/try it. *Progress* No more active spots left! My right cheek breakout is all dried up and just red marks left. Forehead is clear, chin clear, a few marks on my left cheek left. Looking good! *Thoughts* The fact that I am no longer having problems with red, dry skin is a good sign that my skin is used to the BP now, and I am loving the Quinoderm! Its great so I definitely plan on using it for the next few months or more. The main problem now is red marks left from old spots. I am going to try the aha lotion when I get the chance to buy it so will start commenting on how that goes as and when. I definitely recommend the regimen! Its working great for me, as it has for others so give it a go. Dan. *Regimen* WASH - Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Wash - Nice and gentle and feels really smoothing and great on the skin TREAT - Quinoderm 3 times a day. *Day 10*

*DAY 10* *Regimen* WASH - Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Wash - Nice and gentle and feels really smoothing and great on the skin TREAT - Quinoderm 3 times a day. MOISTURISE - Simple replenishing daily moisturiser during day and Boots vitamin e night cream before bed. *Progress* I got one more little spot, again on my right cheek. I think it is another that was under the skin waiting to come up anyway. I picked it a bit which is really annoying! Trying to avoid touching them. It got a bit inflamed but treated as normal with BP and just before bed is gone down The other new ones I got over the past week have all gone down to just red marks now, and are quickly on their way to fading. Only other annoying thing is that my skin looked red again in patches today and had a lot of dry, flaky patches that peeled. Don't think it is going to be a problem because its not sore at all, or itchy/stinging etc. Just a little red. So hopefully that will sort itself out soon and the little breakout I've had will be over! *Thoughts* Can't believe I'm still sticking to the regimen religiously!! I usually find it hard to stick with a routine but this is going great! I am looking forward to getting this second week out the way as it seems as if this small breakout is nearly over (touch wood!). Also hope the redness goes down soon, as it kind of spoils all the work! Apart from a couple of spots I am clear Just red marks left which are fading - doesn't look so great because of the damned dryness and redness. Time for jojoba oil I think. Dan.

*Day 8* (update before bed)

Its a miracle! Since this morning the massive inflamed spot on my jawline has diminished to nothing but a small raised bump and a red mark... definitely the Quinoderm that! Must have been about 27-28 hours since I noticed the spot starting to get inflamed. 24 hours since my face swelled up like I had been hit with a cricket bat round the head. And its pretty much gone! Very happy with that Applied Quinoderm 3 times by the way, as normal. Dan

*Day 8*

*DAY 8* *Regimen* WASH - Skin under mouth still slightly dry in corners but again the new moisturiser is great for sorting it out. Wash with tea tree and witch hazel foaming wash morning and night - feels great still. TREAT - Quinoderm 3 times a day. MOISTURISE - Simple replenishing daily moisturiser during day and Boots vitamin e night cream before bed. *Progress* Slightly frustrating, last night I noticed a large inflamed spot coming up on my jaw right side, which by the time I went to bed was so swollen it looked like I had been punched! Whole face was massive on right side But I didn't panic and squeeze like I used to, I iced it for half an hour with ice cube in a towel, then used a hot flannel on it for 15 minutes. Its a good way to reduce the swelling, and the added heat at the end helps to dissolve the blocked pore (obviously very deep in the skin). I applied BP as normal but also applied a tea tree and witch hazel night gel - loads of it! Its great for swollen inflamed spots - the redness is reduced and the swelling goes down a lot over night. *Thoughts* OK I got a big spot. But I'm pretty sure that it's due to the regimen and is a sign that its working. I don't get ones like this normally and its gone down so fast. Pretty sure its a sign of an initial breakout, plus there's a couple of other tiny spots which have already dried under the BP. Still happy with how its going and optimistic Dan.

*Day 7*

*DAY 7* *Regimen* WASH - Slightly dry skin under mouth but the new moisturiser from Simple is great and sorts it out straight away. The new facial cleanser is great! It comes out as a foam and feels so nice and smooth on face, plus the tea tree and witch hazel combo is always a winner for me. TREAT - Skin definitely used to the Quinoderm completely now! Redness has gone and face looks a lot less angry. Skin tone looks nicer and alot more healthy and even. Plus no new spots so its definitely doing its job MOISTURISE - The Simple day moisturiser is very nice: goes on easy and sinks in nicely, doesn't clog pores and sorts out any dry areas. The vitamin night cream I got seems amazing! I wake up with a healthy glow and it seems to be fading the red marks a lot faster and its so cheap! Less than £2 in Boots so will definitely use again. *Progress* Woke up today with all remaining spots (one on chin, one on forehead and one on right cheek) all dried up and drastically reduced! Can hardly notice them now. I am adamant that the BP has sped up this process as normally spots would last 2 to 3 weeks and its been about 1! *Thoughts* Love the new cleanser and moisturisers so might get more from Boots while the 3 for 2 deals still on! I'm so happy and optimistic about the regimen! Usually I would start to lag with it around this point and start to forget to do it, but as its going so well I simply can't wait to do my next application! Sad I know but my skin looks better than I can remember it looking. Very happy with how everything's going Dan.

*Day 5*

*DAY 5* So, I didn't update for a couple of days, but everything's been pretty much the same. I have one spot on my cheek, kinda near my top lip, that's a bit inflamed. That's it! Today is the 5th day since I started keeping track of everything, and into my third week of the regimen. *Regimen* WASH - No dry skin issues! Bought a new facial cleanser, Boots gentle foaming wash from the tea tree and witch hazel range. Really nice stuff and so good for sensitive skin. Cleanses and tones leaving face fresh, clean but not tight or drying. TREAT - Quinoderm three times: morning, afternoon and before bed. Love it! MOISTURISE - OK so I wasn't too sure about the aveeno daily lotion. It's great for the body but not sure it's great for the face. Seems too heavy for me and doesn't sink in too well. So I got a new moisturiser from Simple, includes an SPF so perfect for the day. I also got some Boots vitamin night cream as I want something to even out my skin tone a bit. 3 FOR 2 AT BOOTS ON ALL FACIAL CARE STUFF!!! YAY! *Progress* The spot on my chin has pretty much gone, tiny red mark left. Same with the one on my forehead again. Red marks are fading more and the vitamin e stuff should really help with that. Seem to have completely battled the dry red skin problem which is great! May be that my skin's just got used to the BP. *Thoughts* The new facial cleanser and moisturisers seem perfect for me, but as normal will have to see how they perform. Don't think I will have any problems with them blocking pores as so light. Really am liking the regimen. I totally recommend it! I don't think I have gone this long with out getting new spots in ages! (well one, but a lot better than before!) Touch wood it will continue to work its magic for me. Dan.

*Day 2*

*DAY 2* *Regimen* WASH - Woke up today with slight dry patches of skin on my forehead and chin so used an exfoliating scrub gently in the shower to 'buff' the flakes away. Nice and smooth now TREAT - Usual treatment with Quinoderm after shower, a second application in afternoon and will apply after I wash before bed. Really love it! MOISTURISE - Moisturised with a tiny amount of Aveeno daily moisturising lotion 15 minutes after applying the BP. Its really good for giving an even tone to complexion. But too much clogs pores. *Progress* The spot on my chin has calmed down so much, just a slight bump left and slight redness. Same with the one on my forehead really! They dried up nicely with the BP and once exfoliated were much less noticeable. I got one new tiny tiny spot on my cheek but it was more of a clogged pore coming to the surface I would say. Already pretty much gone since this morning so all goooood! Red marks are fading and hopefully be gone within another week or two. *Thoughts* Might get a neutrogena moisturiser from Boots (or 3 as they are 3 for 2 at the moment! great news and I love a bargain!) as it is oil free and contains salicylic acid. I've heard its good for fighting spots while keeps dry skin at bay. Also reduces redness and evens skin tone so worth a try as the Aveeno one is a little heavy for me. Again, I am delighted at how its going! I don't think I have ever had such good success with any regimen before, although maybe because I am really sticking to it this time. Skin tone looks much better, also feels really nice and smooth. One new spot in two days is brilliant! Dan.

*Day 1*

*DAY 1* I'm going to call this day one as it's the start of my blog! However, I have been using BP for about 2 weeks daily, plus on and off for a few weeks before that so my skin is already used to it (hopefully!). Just want to start by saying that I'm doing this blog as a way of just getting it off my mind! It's so hard not having anyone to talk to about it; its the usual thing, nobody I know seems to have problems with acne, whether they hide it or not I'll never know though! I suppose I am also keen to track how everything's going for my own sake; always seem to lose track of how long I've been going with it or how thing's are improving (or not...). And if it helps others in their own quest for clear skin then that's all the better!! *Regimen* WASH - Currently, I mainly wash with just water in the shower. If my skin gets dry or flaky from the BP I use a wash-cloth to gently exfoliate. I also use a salicylic acid wash once or twice a week which helps to clean down into the pores. TREAT - I am using Quinoderm 10% cream. It's amazing stuff. I don't get how it is 10% as it doesn't irritate at all or cause over redness. Compared to 2.5% Panoxyl I used before (a few years ago) its sooo mild. So I use this 2-3 times a day (as stated in the instructions) depending on how dry my skin is. Most days it copes with 3 applications with ease. MOISTURISE - I use Aveeno daily moisturising lotion 15 minutes after applying the BP. I also occasionally swap my night application of BP with mandelic acid serum to fight blackheads. *Progress* So, as I said I have been going for about 2 weeks with this regimen and things are looking great. Before I had around 5-10 spots on each cheek at any given time (mainly along jawline), a few on my chin, and some on my forehead. Probably a total on my face of between 15-30 at a time. It wasn't overly bad, mild to moderate I would say. But I had a lot of red marks all the time as spots died, while new ones constantly formed. Now, I have just 2 active spots!!! They both formed around the 1.5 week mark. Large inflamed bumps - 1 on my chin and 1 on my forehead. I also have a few old spots on my left cheek from before I started - not active but still slightly dry red raised areas. My right side is totally clear!! (touch wood!). Just a couple of red marks that are quickly fading. One thing I can say is that my skin is so much smoother and the skin tone looks a lot better. At first my whole face was quite red and angry looking - in the second week (towards the end of it) my whole face calmed down and the overall colour/tone looks a lot better now. *Thoughts* I am very keen to try an AHA lotion - either Alpha Hydrox AHA Enhanced Lotion or Dan's AHA+. I will buy this when I have the money! lol. The Quinoderm is a great find!! It contains (as well as the BP) lactic acid and castor oil, both good ingredients in fighting acne. I am very happy at how its all going! My skin feels amazing and hopefully soon it will look amazing! Feel free to comment, it would be great to hear from others and get some feedback! Dan.
