my back may be slowly clearing up, but im still getting some rather painful zits on the back of my neck, and i got one on my forehead where i usually have my side bangs. so im deducing that some of my acne is caused by the oils in my hair - which is kind of weird, seeing that my hair is VERY DRY.
how do i stop this? i can't always wear my hair up. Plus, i HATE wearing my hair up because my hair is what also covers my acne! i can't just grin and bear it, that's too difficult for me. I'm finally comfortable wearing v-necks, and thats a big move on my part.
so this entire summer i have avoided wearing shorts or dresses or skirts without stockings on in public because for some reason i have these tiny, scattered little red dots on my calves and thighs. none of my friends have this? is it just keratosis pilaris? i lotion my legs every day, they're not that dry. how to get rid of it? anybody else (if anyone reads this) have this problem?
p.s. its not itchy or such a big problem that I need to go to doc. just embarrassing for ppl to look at the little red dots/imperfections on my leg when nobody else has them.
p.s.2. sticking with the regimen.
1. wash face and body with minty exfoliating wash by bath and body works
2. pat dry. apply neutrogena 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide all over face, chest, and back.
1. wash face with minty exfoliating wash by bath and body works
2. apply neutrogena oil free moisturizer with SPF 15
pretty simple, right?
So Salicylic Acid totally messed up my face back and chest. And BP has neutralized me to where i was before, my face still has my basic acne, my chest has basically no acne - just scars and tiny comedones, and my back is REALLY CLEAR except for scars. This regimen is a keeper. Thanks Dan.
so ive been using BP for so long, yet i still get pimples on the regular, which makes me think - maybe BP is only good for ACTIVE pimples, not for preventing pimples. Just to make the ones you have go down. I'm still scared to stop using BP - it never has good affects. ill keep with the regimen until the end of the school year june 5 6 7 8 or 9th, then i'll drop the BP.
ive already dropped the BP on my chest and back.. doesn't seem to make a difference ?
i keep changing this DAMN regimen. - i started to use SA. i cant decide, BP or SA? or both?
1. exfoliating scrub with face, chest, back, and rest of body.
2. wash with SA on face, chest, back, and rest of body.
3. apply BP all over face, except forehead (i stopped using it here to see the affects. i have bangs, so no one gets to see this part of my face.)
4. apply nothing to chest and back.
and i sleep. this is my night regimen.
1. wash with SA on face
2. apply moisturizer with SPF
kay. see you in like a week or two
so i slept over someones house and couldnt do my regimen last night.. i had a couple flare ups this morning since i also didnt wash off my makeup. i did however do my night regimen in the morning to make up for it. adding new pics to the gallery. bye.
1. scrub face with neutrogena deep clean invigorating scrub (non-medicated)
2. wash face and body with neutrogena body wash (2.5% SA)
3. keep it on for a few minutes
4. rinse and pat dry
5. apply neutrogena acne spot treatment (2.5 % BP) to face, neck, chest, back, and back of arms.
6. apply toothpaste if needed to very large, active pimples, and BP to acne scars.
1. wash face with neutrogena body wash (2.5% SA)
2. rinse and pat dry
3. apply neutrogena oil free moisturizer with spf 15 (non medicated)
thats the regimen. sticking to it.
i uploaded pics to the gallery. check em out. if you look at one of my cheeks from like a week ago and see it now, you'll see that it has improved. sticking with this regimen.
dry face & body.
bp all over face, chest, back, back of arms.
(i also have these little red bumps on my thigh, im coming to think its keratosis pilaris, but ive been applying BP to it too, and its definitely going away. + lotion!)
if i have a cyst, i put toothpaste on it and it goes down within 3 days. i had a couple since i messed up the reg a little, but they haven't popped up lately.
wow look how inconsistent i am. so i think the detoxing went well except for the fact that i've been breaking out like crazy. well, i've been worse in the past. anyways. i'm basically going to jump on the "dan'sregimen" boat. - with a little editing.
last night. btw, i've begun to do everything gently like Dan recommends. i used to REALLY SCRUB my face, and they may have taken par in my breakouts.
i washed with deep clean neutrogena cleanser.
i exfoliated with deep clean neutrogena scrub for exfoliation.
i patted my face dry, waited a minute, then applied a huge glob of neutrogena on the spot 2.5% benzoyl peroxide all over my face, chest, and back. (everywhere is a problem area.) I did not apply moisturizer, because that kept making my face oily during the night.
in the morning, i have to say, my face looks better. and very smooth so i washed it gently with the cleanser again and simply applied moisturizer. my moisturizer has spf, and thats the only reason why i keep it. i actually really hate it.
anybody know of any other good moisturizer with spf that doesn't cause oily skin?
p.s. so im just doing dan's regimen except no moisturizer at night and no bp in morning. see you soon.
pictures of my suffering. if it doesn't work, then forget about it.
if anyone used to have acne like this and has fixed theirs, please tell me your solution!!!
guess what. my face looks like shit.
ive simplified my regimen a few days ago:
regular neutrogena cleanser.
regular neutrogena exfoliator.
neutrogena oil free moisturizer.
i use very little BP, just dotting it on pimples and spots.
this regimen applies to my chest and back, too.
since i cut the major use on BP, my face was like WHAT!! and i now have pepperoni pizza face. or maybe this is my face purging from the BP?
i have no major pimples on my chest, just these tiny little bumps you can only see at certain angles. they irritate me. plus some dark spots.
on my back, it looks good at some angles, bad at others. i don't have any major pimples either, just tiny ones down the middle of my back and scars on my shoulders.
of course, my keratosis pilaris on my arms doesn't help, and neither does the few red dots on my thighs.
fuck my life.
honestly, why cant my skin stay like how it was when i was little? what if i went back to that regimen? i didn't do ANYTHING to it then. should i just stop doing everything?
okay so statistics say that a lot of people suffer from acne, but whenever i'm out and about, it's like I AM THE ONLY ONE! i have all these spots on my face and everyone else in the mall has these clear, perfect faces. sometimes i want to just go up to them and ask, why is your skin so beautiful? what do you use? why does my skin have to be difficult?
So applying BP all over my face was really drying - i've gone back to moisturizer all over face, chest, and back, and spotting bp on specific pimples. -- except my back, i put BP all over there. its really working that way.
i was reading the symptoms of candida... and i think i might have it from using all that BP before? shouldnt Dan be getting candida from using all that BP? idk man. i thought maybe this spring break i'd find a miracle worker and come back from spring break as a clear as can be. that's not gonna happen. now im ranting all depressed and stuff. i have to go to work. bye.
it seemed that whenever i posted that something worked on here, it stopped working afterwards. maybe my hopefulness and happiness releases a chemical in my body that interferes with its great results...
so i've been covering my face ad back in BP only for the past few weeks. My face is very dry. Now, I've added moisturizer to the reg. and I'll try to post again soon. *Think sad thoughts*
so since I started clindamycin my chest started breaking out in tiny pimples... and after really looking at my back, its getting worse. I'm back to a simple moisturizer and BP. BP DOES work - but only on individual pimples. Lemon juice works, also, for the under-the-skin pimples.
But, I'm still looking for a cure for the tiny tiny randomly placed raised bumps on my chest and face? If i squeeze them really hard puss will come out but then it will be red the next day sooo... what do i use on these?
I'm thinking of trying glycolic acid? to exfoliate and open up these closed over pores?
well i think my back is clearing up. the acne on the back of my arms is DEFINITELY BETTER! (i'm applying BP and clindamycin to them). My chest, unfortunately, does not like the clin that much, so I'm just applying moisturizer and spotting BP on the little pimples. My forehead is clearing, I'd say. I'd also say that my nose is clearing.
the main problem: my cheeks.
my cheeks don't really have acne, but scars. I'm going to try the lemon juice again to get some kind of progress. i do have two or three not-major pimples on each cheek, but BP will make them go down within the week.
Note : I did miss a night and the morning after my skins like WTF? so you have to remember to be consistent!
wash with regular face wash
exfoliate with regular scrub
apply honey mask
keep on for 5-10 minutes
rinse and dry
apply oil-free moisturizer to face, chest, back, and arms.
apply clindamycin to face, back, and arms.
spot BP on major pimples on face, back, chest, and arms.
rinse and dry.
apply moisturizer and clindamycin to face.
noncomodegenic make up.
So i used BP consistently, and its working.. but not to the extent that i want. I went to my doctor, and she said that I should use clindamycin with it, and she prescribed it to me.. and i applied it last night.
last night, i only applied it to my back though. I don't want to experiment with this benzaclin on my face until it works on my back, because i don't want to ruin what the BP has cleared from my face. So.... yeah. Benza Clin. Day 1. Woot!
