So this is day two of using the differin gel at night and when i woke up my wake did seem noticibly better! but this could be a fluke. I'm going to continue to be applying it every night.
I've been wanting to post pictures of my acne journey but i have no idea how to .. I have some extra time so I think I'm going to now - if i figure it out, please check it out. I found a bunch of old pictures the other day of my acne and how it was slowly getting better and how HORRRIBLE it used to be. just thinking of it almost makes my skin crawl. Anyways, I'm going to try and get my photos on to show everyone how horrible i used to look!
well i'm back after a few months off accutane and so far everything has been looking pretty good. although my scars are not as gone as i'd want them to be i am currently using a differin gel and hoping that it works out well. i still cannot leave my house without makeup. i found someone else who took an accutane journey, who later also became my boyfriend! his skin looks WONDERFUL he used to have twice the acne i have and he looks BEYYOONNNG amazing. nto even any scars. unfortunatly i can not say the same for myself. ohwell, we'll see how well this differin gel works. i final got it and have decided to try and stay dedicated. wish me luck!
im not really sure its been around two-three weeks of me taking my second course of accutane and things are looking very good, my dry lips came back very badly, my nose is very dry and my eyes get bloodshot sometimes.
i've noticed i'm very tired lately and havent been able to pay very good attention in school, i've also been a little bit more moodier then usual but that might just be other reasons.
as far as my face goes the bumps i felt before my second course have either disappeared or gone down drastically, my face is dry and flakey but with moisturizer my makeup still covers well and still looks very natural, i have six months more of this to go, im really hoping after this course i will be done and acne-free for good.
there are still marks on my faces, but i was told those would go away too, as night i use a spot-treatment gel prescribed by my doctor called clindoxyl gel which seems to work pretty good, i put it on before i go to bed every night.
over-all i feel better and i think the second-round of accutane was a good choice.
unfortunately im back, and on my second course of accutane. i've only tooken two pills so far and havent seen a change yet but then again i didnt expect too......
my acnes not as bad as before and i easily cover it with makeup. im hoping this will be the last time i have to take accutane and im hoping it will work very well and faster then the last time. so far i have gotten no breakout and im hoping it stays that way although the doctor told me the breakout would not be as bad as before, although im not really sure he knew what he was talking about.
ill keep an update i just wanted to start this up again so i could keep track of my process
hello accutane old friend, im home.
its been eight months after my first cycle of accutane & im feeling great!
my scars have been slowly heeling with the help of vichy's norma derm, which i would strongly suggest for people trying to get rid of there scars, because i had very bad scarring & it almost changed it 100% overnight.
covering acne scars is one of the hardest things i have to do, but im just glad there is no longer active acne on my face.
I know it's been a while since I've updated my blog, well it's been five months since I ended my course of accutane & everything is still going pretty good. I have been under a large amount of stress in the last couple of days, whic caused my face to have a huge break-out. accutane gets rid of all of your acne, but you have to take care of yourself to make sure it dosent come back, accutane gives you a start, but to keep off the acne, just like looseing weight, you need to keep up good habits, such as eating right, believe me I love sodas more then anyone, but having more then one a day can cause changes in your face. Same with candies, Which I looooooove, but it's all woth it in the end. you also need to keep yourstress down, I learned that the hard way, it can make huge changes to your face.
In my last post I talked about makeup that was good for covering your skin, I have recently changed my makeup routine, I'm currenty using jane's oil-free concealer, which had been working very well for a while, it covers very well, but I'm still trying out more makeup, if anyone has any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me, I'm still trying to find the best make-up for covering post-accutane skin. My suggestions for what have worked on my skin so far are almay's clear skin makeup line, it kept my skin clear, bu didn't cover as well as I would have liked. Jane no-show concealer covers 100% but occasionaly clogs pores, other then that it is a very good concealer. The makeup I can't wait to try is the clinique acne solutions, it sounds like it could be good.
I'll keep you posted,
sooo, since so many people have problems with there acne scars, i thought most of my postings should now be more targeted towards acne-coverage.
like i said in my other post, everyones skin is different, so your scars, might be better, or worse then some other peoples. they may also not be 'scars' but very annoying red marks, that wont seem to go away.
most people on this site, and myself personally, have had a doctor tell them the marks would go away, for me its been nine months & this still hasnt happened, so regardless of weather it happens or not, people (mostly girls) feel very insecure about there scars.
the best way to cover these scars is through makeup, which i myself do.
i found some videos on the internet, which personally helped me with covering my acne.
youtube is a very good place to get lots of videos! - but you should know, everyones skin is different & you never know what will work for you, untill you try.
but you should never give up.
good luck, everyone!
so my face is still 100% from the six months of accutane. i was looking back on some of my older blogs of when i was on accutane, & theres a lot of things i wish i could have told myself..
for one, always, always, ALWAYS wear sunscreen! even in the winter!
& always, always, always, always, always has lip medication! its so important, your lips get to unbelievably chapped, you cant go a day without it & if you go into class & forget in for an hour, you'll come out looking like sidney crosby, not with the sexy body or the swagger .. just the big lips.
you also need to remember to be patient, believe its going to work, because odds are it is.
also, yes it will get worse before it gets better .. thats just the way it goes
& lastly, i wish i could tell myself to wear more moisturizer, its actually extremely good for your skin.
now that my acnes gone, i feel amazing! although i still do get zits every now & then. the facewash i use is neutrogena, any one of there anti-acne face washes is amazing, it leaves your face feeling fresh & you always feel better the next morning, i also bought neutrogena's 'rapid clear spot gel' which works really fast on pimples, and even if i feel one coming on, i can put it on & it stops it right away.
since i went from tons of acne, to none, i have very many scars, basically it looks like i still have acne, minus the actual acne bumps. my skin has red dots all over it & if you are another person who suffers from acne scars, you know what i mean. i cover-up my spots with foundation. i know acne is ugly & embarrassing, but you should not wear foundation until your face is fully clear, because it looks weird on bumps & because it can sometimes make things worse, its best to just let your face do its thing, it'll be worth it in the end. you should also not wear face-makeup on accutane because your skin is so extremely dry, it would flake off anyways & might possibly block your pores causing more acne. when you've gotten to the stage where your acne is gone & your ready to start using make-up you should also try to go for a foundation that is mineral, they work very well. although i use liquid foundation, because i personally find it easier, whichever kind you like, as long as it says 'helps fight acne', 'dosent clog pores' or 'non-comedogenic'. the type of liquid foundation i use, which i also strongly suggest, is 'almay: clear complexion makeup', there is a whole line of stuff there. they have pressed powder, which i also have & concealer, which i'd also recommend getting, because it helps cover those really bad scars , this almay line also 'heals & conceals' (catchy & true) so not only will it cover it, but it'll heal it too. this makeup is easy to find & not very expensive, i found mine at walmart, im sure its always at local drugstores too.
you can use sponges or a brush to apply liquid foundation, i personally use a brush because it turns out better, but i occasionally use a sponge. if you choose to use a brush, you should know some are very hard to clean, i bought a quo brush, which was expensive & really hard to clean .. then i went to walmart & bought a foundation brush from 'ecotools', & its so amazingly easy to clean, cheap & good for the environment! seriously, if you havent gotten one yet. i'd suggest it.. for cleaning your brushes, which you should do everyday so that you wont be putting more dirt onto your face, you should use quo foundation brush cleanser if you can find it, i got it at a drugstore, im not sure if they sell them at wallmart or not, if you cant find that one, then babysoap works too.
if you are using a sponge for your make-up, the ones i would suggest for a clearer face are these one i got at 'rexall' drugstore, there cosmetic sponges with vitamin e, although any cosmetic sponge should work fine.
thats all i can really think of right now, i hope some of this helped you. thanks for reading
so i totally forgot about this blog, as you know, i was the one who had horrible, & i mean HORRIBLE acne all over my face, then i took 6 months of accutane & im not sure how long its been hmm .. i ended in september so its been five months & i can honestly say NONE of my acne has come back .. amazing, right? yup. accutanes a miracle drug, if i do say so myself, if you guys are trying anything else for your acne i STRONGLY suggest accutane, it changed my life 100% i went from being a total socail-outcast to my normal self
& for everyone out there whos still on accutane, just hold on, trust me, its all going to be worth it in the end.
