Day Six - Post Peel
Ninety-nine percent of my peeling has now been completed. I have some very minor flaking around my eyebrows and the corner of my eyes.
My face is only slightly pink and my skin looks very good.
Overall, I am very pleased with the results.
Day Five - AM
I woke up and noticed that my forehead had begun to massively peel in sheets.
My temples have not peeled yet and look brown and crinkly.
My nose has nearly finished peeling - I have some brown spots left that will eventually peel.
My face is pink where the new skin has emerged. I'm curious to see what I will look like when all of the residual micro-swelling as subsided.
Right now, I am very pleased with the results. I hope that the pinkness/redness goes away before I have to return to work on Monday.
Day Four - PM
I couldn't help but continue to check on my face through out the day - I was painting the lower level of our house to stay out of the heat and out of the sun.
This afternoon, I noticed major sheets of skin on both cheeks and on my chin beginning to peel off.
I kept hydrating my skin with vitamin e oil and cream throughout the day.
This morning, my face looked a bit like a shriveled potato - very tight, brown, and crinkly.
By 5:00 p.m. nearly 100% of the skin on my cheeks and chin had peeled off - o.k., I helped a little.
My nose began to peel some, too.
I worked out in our garden this evening, came in and took a warm shower, and noticed that my forehead and temples were now beginning to peel.
I estimate that I will be finished peeling by tomorrow evening. Yee-ha!
Right now, my skin looks very pink and vibrant. Because of the swelling, it's hard to see any acne scarring whatsoever. I hope that this continues.
Day Four - AM
I noticed some additional peeling last night before I went to bed. I have kept my face hydrated by using Vitamin E creme and Vitamin E oil.
This morning, I woke up, looked in the mirror, and saw the beginning of major peeling occurring.
You can call me 'snake man'. There are areas where my skin is peeling off in small sheets on my face - rather scary looking if I may say so.
The peeling started from around my mouth and extends down to the bottom of my chin. I also have major peeling occurring in the 'nasio-labial' area - that is the area surrounding the nose and lips.
My face still looks sort of reddish/brown and is very leathery. I go back to work a week from today and I hope that the worst of the peeling is over by then.
Until then, I'm a recluse in my house and I'm working on several indoor projects.
Day Three - AM - My face is tight, reddish/brown and 'crinkly' in appearance.
Today, I am beginning to see signs of peeling around the corners of my mouth and by my right nostril.
My youngest son who just returned from a Boy Scout camping trip asked me the following question, "Dad, why do you have all of those lines running down your face? You kind of look like the leather work project that I did at camp".
Yes, my face does look wrinkly and a bit like leather. I can tell that the upper layer of skin on my face is beginning to loosen. My face feels very dry and very tight.
Hopefully, I'll see a lot of peeling over the next three days.
Day Two PM
Tonight, my face looks as if someone applied 'spray on' tan cream all over my face.
My face looks slightly tan and kind of as if I have a sun burn.
My face looks a bit wrinkly and I noticed some mild peeling around my mouth.
We'll see what tomorrow brings.
Day Two AM I woke up in the middle of the night and my face was burning.
This morning after I got up, I took a look in the mirror and my face appears to be pretty much like it normally does. Even my wife commented on this.
However, my skin appears to be a bit 'wrinkly' and I took some photos to document the process.
Hopefully, the peeling process will begin by Monday, July 18th.
I just completed week one of a stay-at-home vacation.
I was supposed to have round 4 of subcision on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, but the appointment got cancelled by the doctor's office due to a scheduling snafu.
Since I couldn't undergo subcision and it's been delayed until December of this year, I decided to do a 25% TCA at home peel.
I bought my TCA from Skin Obsession after reading about other user's experiences with this product.
I thoroughly washed my face and then used alcohol to remain any trace of soap and/or oil from my face.
I put on rubber gloves and poured a small amount of the acid into a dish. I used a piece of cotton gauze and applied the TCA to my face and did this about three times.
Yes, it burned after a few minutes and then my entire face FROSTED WHITE. I took some photos because it was so wild. It appeared as if I had used some Dove soap and just left it on my skin. I rinsed my face with cold water after about seven minutes, but the white remained.
About 15 minutes or so later, my wife commented that my face was no longer white, but it appeared that I had a sunburn.
We'll see how day two goes.......
