Laser treatment requires several trips to a dermatologist's office and can cost $600-$1500. Lasers work similarly to light therapy by attempting to reduce bacteria and skin oil. While laser therapy may produce moderate results, one concern is that certain lasers may permanently reduce skin oil production. Skin oil has many uses in the skin, and reducing its production on a long-term basis may produce unintended consequences like premature aging.
