Pros: zinc PASTE works Cons: none so far for me Bottom Line: I dont take the zinc pills... this was what my mom did when i was a teen, and I still use it to this day if i have the rare pimple: get the zinc pills, crush a few up and mix with water. you want a paste like consistency... apply zinc paste to pimple area 2-3x times daily.. those pimples that take DAYS to go away will disappear fast Recommended: Yes Price Paid: 6.00 Acne severity: moderate Was this comment helpful? Pros: It's seriously amazing. My cystic acne has totally cleared up. Cons: Some minor stomach upset Bottom Line: I had to go off of differin because of money issues after losing my insurance, and since then, my acne has been completely horrible. I've been having awful cystic acne across my face, four or five pimples at a time! Well, I tried almost every over the counter, proactiv, everything and nothing helped. I then started trying holistic approaches. I gave up dairy (I am already a vegetarian) and I started taking supplements. I tried flax seed oil, but that made me actually break out more. I then stumbled upon zinc. I have been using it for about three weeks now, and I do not have any new cystic pimples, and all of my existing ones have dramatically cleared. I had six CYSTIC pimples at the time I started using zinc, and now I have none. I do have a whitehead, but I am totally fine with that. I believe my vegetarian diet has led to me being seriously zinc deficient, and thus leading to my acne. I hope I've found my "cure" at last! I take zinc chelate, by the way, two 50mg pills. Pros: very affordable and the tablets are really small Cons: i get side affects from taking Zinc, our bodies react different than others, and it seems my body doesnt like the Zinc because it makes me feel really tired, exhausted and unable to focus Bottom Line: ive been using it for 2 days now, i thinks its still too early to se a difference and hopefully my body gets adapted to it, ill keep everyone posted. I Also bought the Zinc topical i read reviews on that one being very effective. Usage: mi has used this item for a day or two. Pros: It works, my face is finally completely clear now and I seen results fast, plus its cheap. Cons: I tired taking it once on a empty stomach to see if i could handle it and I was nauseous & dizzy for 2 hours. It was so painful, so take it with a meal. I read if you stop taking zinc for a long period of time then try to take it again it wont work Bottom Line: While taking zinc (50mg) supplements for a week, I have not had a new pimple or zit. When I first ate the pill my forehead had about 10 pimples and I had 8 cysts on my chin. It was horrible. Then I discovered zinc supplements on this review page. That night I ate 2 pills and took another pill and applied it on my face like a mask....the next morning the 10 pimples were gone, the cysts dried up on the 2nd-3rd day and I stopped waking up with a really oily face. During the day my face is not oily anymore either. I ate a REALLY high dosage of 5 pills a day for 3 days....on the 4th day I started taking it twice a day and it still gave me the same benefits. I made the zinc mask and slept with it on 3 times this week. I love zinc, I tired proactive before, it didnt work for me so i returned it and got my 100$ back, I've had a dermatologist before and I paid 35$ a month. I paid only 11$ for zinc. Pros: works Bottom Line: after turning vegetarian, my face broke out insanely. After a year of trying many topical things i realised it was probably due to the change in my diet. Our body reacts strangely when it is missing out on some vital needs. i've been using it for 2 weeks and haven't had any breakouts. Awesome. Pros: It dried my acne up overnight after i took my first pill...IT WORKS! Cons: none Bottom Line: I have had adult acne for years.. It comes and goes..I hate it.. I searched on line for a easier way to control my acne and found zinc..I took 50 mg of zinc gluconate and within the first day i can feel and see a difference in my skin..i have taken it for almost 2 weeks and my acne is healed all i have is a little redness that is fading gradually.. Pros: 95% of acne has cleared within two weeks. skin is no longer red. i experience absolutely no discomfort from taking them. they're affordable. i feel more vital. Cons: the pharmacist recommended not to take them for longer than 3 months at a time as an overdose can have some side-effects like an increase in the body's copper-production Bottom Line: for a long time now i've been looking for a hassle-free way to stop breakouts and improve my skin. i've tried a variety of creams, oils, diets and other supplements...this is the first thing that's really worked for me. and the best thing about it is that it doesn't require much effort at all, unlike diets for example, which ask you to cut a number of diifferent food-types out of your diet. i can't tell you how good it feels not to have to worry about my skin any more!
