Bottom Line: I started taking zinc a month ago.. All the acne on my back and chest clear up ...zero acne ... Pros: Wow, I've seen a huge difference after using this for about a week! Started with 50mg then after a week moved down to 25. It does induce slight nausea, but it's worth bearing. Finally something effective rather than BP. Hormonal acne no more. Cons: nausea, dizziness, discomfort when at 50mg doses at morning and night. Basically toxic dose but it's very effective against hormonal acne! Bottom Line: I believe this must balance hormones well. I've come to conclusion that I have hormonal acne and attacking with topicals isn't going to get me very far. I decided to try supplements. I've tried fish oil [no results], B5 [very drying but works ok], vitamin e [for scar healing and am still using it] and finally zinc [the cure]. I'm very impressed with what I'm seeing every time I look in the mirror. Zinc may be a cure for some people. I had quite severe acne. My cheeks, my forehead and chin were covered. Now only scars remain but they're fading quite quickly. I was becoming depressed before using Zinc due to no successful treatment options. Have tried everything including online pills designed for acne fighting such as Acneticin. If you haven't tried Zinc yet DO IT NOW! What do you have to lose? It's worth it. Pros: Working well with only 5 days of use -acne is clearing up real fast -very few new pimples appear now Cons: none that I know of..Doesn't make me sick like others and I take 150 mg. Bottom Line: This stuff works real well, the new pimples I am getting are probably those that already were developing before i started this zinc regime. But everyday, my skin looks alot nicer, and I do have hormonal acne so zinc is definitely a key supplement to take if you have hormonal acne. Its cheap too, 8 dollars for 90 tablets of chelated zinc. Pros: Cystic acne totally gone Cons: none for me Bottom Line: taking 50mg of zinc 2x a day (morning and night) along with a B-complex vitamin has totally eliminated my cystic acne.. i still get some pimples but my breakouts are reduced by like 80%... try the zinc Recommended: Yes Usage: Reviewer has used this item for about a month. Pros: Cleared up all my cystic acne. Have a couple white heads but they are small and are going away fast. It isnt an antibiotic so it wont stop working. Cons: Just afraid of overdosing. For me it took about a month to start getting clear. other than that no cons whatsoever. Bottom Line: Ive been taking two 50mg pills a day for a month and finally im clearing up real good. just got a couple left but nowhere near the amount as i had before i started zinc. Pros: Works Immediately. The Cyst that i had went down by 40% overnight. Cons: Kinda expensive, I dun get where you guys get it so cheaply. Here in singapore it retails at SGD$23.00 , ard US$15 for a small bottle. Bottom Line: I've taken Zinc as mutivitamins but i found that i doesnt really work. As those multivits also contain zinc inhibitors, like iron, copper. Thus a supplement is mandatory for the treatment to work. Also the type of zinc is critical. Pros: takes care of acne :D Cons: it made me dizzy, made me throw up (didn't eat enough food), nausea, upset stomach! Bottom Line: it works! its only been 1 week since i've been taken 100mg dosage a day, the old ones are taking forever to go away & but the new ones went away fast! its working so i might see better results in 3 weeks...so im going to write another review... (About $0.22 Cents a t Cons: None. Pros: Inexpensive, works quickly and long term Cons: Taste, occasional stomach upset Bottom Line: I bought mine online, from Puritan's Pride. I take 3x the recommended daily dose (spent a month on the dose on the bottle with no luck) and my face cleared up almost completely within 5 days. While I still get the occasional zit, they are no longer cystic, and don't take more than a couple days to heal and vanish. Everyone I know has commented on the amazing change. Pros: the pills are easy to crush for applying to your face, it doesn't smell bad at all and it reduces redness and smooths your skin. Cons: can burn/itch a little when it's on Bottom Line: i have really red/dry skin, and i crush about 4 pills and mix with water and let it sit on my skin until it dries. then, i rinse it off and apply vitamin E squeezed from two pills. tonight is the first night i have taken a pill orally as well, so we'll see how that goes, but i already take a multi-vitamin that has zinc anyway. BE CAREFUL not to overdose on zinc! i've only been using it for a few days and my skin is already looking nicer. i'm not sure if it is the zinc or the combination of zinc and vitamin E, but i recommend both if you have very dry skin.
