| Pros | Started clearing up and reducing break outs right away. Cheap Crazy-vivid dreams Definite libido enhancement, not that it was low before, but you know |
|---|---|
| Cons | Crazy-vivid nightmares as well.. ha Some people get stomach aches, but I have not had any problems (I cut my 50mg pill in half and take 1 half with breakfast and 1 with dinner) |
| Bottom line | After I switch birth control pills (from Ortho Cyclen to Lo Ovral), I've been broken out for nearly 5 months. I kept thinking it would kick in and help soon so I just left it. It didn't, so I searched online and found this site recommending zinc and picked some up from WalMart. 50mg tablets by the Spring Valley brand.. It started clearing things up right away. There was greatly reduced size and redness just by the next day and almost completely gone by 3 days. Record healing time for me. I also didn't get any new spots. I am a healthy 20 year old woman.. I eat meat regularly. I was pretty skeptical about adding zinc just because I don't see how I could be deficient, but its helped.. And very quickly. My dreams have been very vivid and I am remembering them now. In the past, I had never usually remembered them. Nightmares are also extra-scary, but I'll take them for the clear skin. I've n ever had an issue with getting an upset stomach with zinc, but I've always taken it about 40 minutes after a meal and I chop the 50mg tablet in half and take it at two different times. Overall, I recommend it. I liked it enough to come here and write a review. This is, literally, only the second review I've ever written (the first being for Underwood Horse Medicine, if anyone cares). |

| Pros | Zinc has GREATLY help reduce my acne breakouts. I've read that zinc is especially good for curbing PMS acne. I personally have fairly bad PMS and have had hormonal acne on my chin and forehead since as long as I can remember. After taking zinc for about 1.5 months, the number of breakouts has greatly reduced. For the first time in a very long time, I have no breakouts on my chin and only 1 on my forehead. My sensitive skin is FINALLY now starting to heal acne scarring. |
|---|---|
| Cons | It took about 1.5 months to see results. Be persistent!! |
| Bottom line | - For anyone with PMS or hormonal acne, I highly recommend taking 25g of zinc everyday. - I also recommend NOT taking it simultaneously with a daily vitamin, as many daily vitamins contain copper and can block zinc absorption. Take the daily vitamin a few hours after you take the zinc. - Try washing your face with Dr. Bronner's Castile soap. Zinc + Dr. Bronners has been magic for me! - Finally, be gentle to your skin. Avoid scrubbing at all costs!! Also ONLY touch your skin when applying make up and washing your face. Good luck!! I hope you have wonderful results. |

| Pros | Skin finally clearing! Redness reduced! Only took a week to notice significant difference. Yay. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Not a con for me but some people don't like tablets |
| Bottom line | My skin has never been perfect but it turned horrible when I started taking Yasmin 7 weeks ago (switched to Yaz for the last 3). I've been on antibiotics and differin, using salicylic acid facewashes & topicals with more aggravation than improvement. It's only been in the last few days that my skin has been consistently improving and the difference has been daily manuka honey masks and a 75mg zinc tablet. |

| Pros | cheap easily obtainable improves immunity controls sebum 50 percent-- the most definitely improved growth of nails Natural No side effects!( in the right dose) produced vivid dreams |
|---|---|
| Cons | it should be taken with food... or else an upset stomach will occur (pls heed experiences of other reviewees. this is normal which should not be a reason to be afraid of) a safe dose of uptp 150 mg is allowed per day average dose should be between 30-60 mg |
| Bottom line | (much more highly reccomended for men/boys) Men should take this supplement more since it is easily depleted through "personal activities". It seems to be regulating sebum as i noticed less clogged pores. I also less allergies such as allergic rhinitis. For acne---it improved healing time by half sebum production-- it cut production in half producing a more thinner consistency Skin--- gives off a slight glow... and healing of skin allergies and itchiness/dryness Body/ Muscles--- i noticed improved muscle tone reproductive organ-- improved erection Semen-- increased volume and consistency I tested Zinc in the form of Zinc picolinate with 2 mg of copper... i believe the right form should be taken, as not all is absorbed well. 6o mg daily taken with food ( i timed it when i ate meat for better absorption) This is best taken in combination with other therapies as it provides 40-50% improvement.. I highly recommend taking this as a daily supplement moreso for males in their teens/adult males and with HORMONAL ACNE.. |

| Pros | It truly does help reduce acne! Inexpensive |
|---|---|
| Cons | Hard to swallow Takes a while to work Does not reduce acne TOTALLY |
| Bottom line | It does work! It worked for me, I would never breakout and had insanly clear skin with maybe 1 pimple that would go away withint 1-2 days! And I would occasianly break out around that time of the month but nothing major. So I was taking Zinc for about 3 months along with Omega-3, vit C and vit D and it helped my acne as I said, but it got kind of a hassle to take all those pills along with my allergy medication I had to take during the summer so I stopped stupidly thinking my skin was just kind of grown out of acne. STUPIDEST IDEA EVER! My skin went back to it's norm 3-4 pimples everyday which absolutely sucks! So now i've started taking them all again and my skin is already clearing up again :) And I think its extremely important to take the zinc out of all those iother vitamins cause thats what was making the difference!! ~ also, the first day I took my zinc pill 5 months ago, I had a problem with swallowing it down. It felt like it came back up my throat and the feeling stayed for 2/3 weeks which was annoying because it wasn't! So make sure you take lots of water with it so you don't have the same problem cause trust me it was annoying!!! |

| Pros | Reduce in acne formation Regular periods |
|---|---|
| Cons | To be taken with full stomache Doesn't clear the acne completely (significant reduced) |
| Bottom line | I tried almost everything except Accutane. I understood from acne.org that Zinc deficiency maybe one of the root cause of the acne. Since it's only a supplement, there's no harm to try. I only take US RDI approved 15mg and I noted differences within one months. I hope the result will sustain! |

| Pros | -Definitively the best stuff you can take for your acne along with an appropriate scrub for your face -Improves libido -If you suffer from deficiency of zinc (lack in diet or too much masturbating lol), expect a huge increase of energy and immune boost. -Can make you lose fat (not in my case though...) |
|---|---|
| Cons | -Easily to overdose, too much can cause problems and an imbalance of nutrients in your body. Just make sure to take copper to compensate. |
| Bottom line | Dont take zinc oxide, try zinc picolinate instead, it has better absorption. I suffered zinc deficiency for a lot of time without knowing. Had problems like oily skin, breakouts, low testosterone, and a very sh*tty life lol So, literally, zinc changed my life :) (Along with omega3 and magnesium) I feel more confident now with more energy and have better skin. By the way, I am a chinese young male who had a zinc deficiency, not sure that is gonna help for everyone... but dont overdose too much. |

| Pros | Clears skin Dreams are SO vivid Boosts immune system Makes skin soft |
|---|---|
| Cons | Must take with big meal otherwise you'll feel nauseas |
| Bottom line | This definitely works for hormonal acne. I've had acne on and off since I was 18 and the only medications that got rid of it were birth control and tetracycline. After it coming back after stopping both products, I was almost ready to give up until I read these reviews. I decided I'd give it a try and see what happened. While my skin is not completely clear yet, it has almost completely cleared up my cystic acne and I can tell the difference from day to day. I also use honey mask at least once a day as well as drinking 1-2 cups of green tea a day. If your acne is hormonal, this product should totally work for you too! :-) |

| Pros | Helps clear skin |
|---|---|
| Cons | Whilst your skin will be clearER, it definitely won't be perfect |
| Bottom line | It's effective enough to warrant me continuing to take it (in fairly large quantities), but it doesn't completely stamp out the acne. |

| Pros | Non for me. |
|---|---|
| Cons | No cons either. |
| Bottom line | I rated this item about a month ago and gave it 2/5, and I'm still sticking to that. A month ago I decided to give zinc a nother chance and switched chelated zinc to zinc picolinate. I also upped my dose to 180mg per day and have done this for about four weeks with absolutely no effect. I really don't feel any effect on my body. I'll be reducing my dose to 60mg. Happy to see it's helped so many people here though. |
