Pros Noticeably clearer skin
Worked quickly on me
Cons Can be toxic if you take more than 100mg/day
Bottom line I've only been taking zinc supplements for about 5 days now but have already noticed a huge difference in my number of breakouts. Two. Only two new breakouts in 5 days. I normally get two new breakouts a day! I haven't changed anything else: diet is the same, regimen is the same, all other supplements are the same. I've only added zinc and I'm so impressed. It's only been 5 days so I will review again in another week (or month). I have tried everything including every dermatologist prescribed topical cream out there, antibiotics, and two different treatments of acutance. I have high hopes for zinc with regards to my skin!

Pros Very Cheap, seems to work, and Doesn't seem to carry much/any risk of negative side affects like making your acne worse.
Cons MUST take with food or you will start to feel really dizzy and sick to your stomach
Bottom line I take half a 50mg pill in the morning and half at night before bed. I didn't really see instant results or anything but after a few months I am confident my acne is no where near as bad as it was before.

I can't tell you with 100% certainty that it will work. But I will say it is definitely worth trying.

Pros less acne
a natural way to cure acne
Cons the chance of overdose
Bottom line For two months now, I've been taking 50 MG of zinc each day. I take my zinc in the form of a 30MG tablet, a multi vitamin and some mints that contain 6.8 MG zinc each. I also take fish oil liquid called Tran (I live in Norway and we live off of that stuff here).

I've seen incredible results after suffering from years and years of adult acne; I'm 28 years old. My dermatologist tested my zinc levels and found out that they were abnormally low. I wish I had known about this before. First, I tried to incorporate more zinc in my diet, but that didn't work. The only thing that has worked has been the zinc supplements. MY SKIN IS SOOOO MUCH BETTER.

The only question, I have is how much zinc is too much. I'm worried about taking too much and haven't been able to find any info on how much zinc I should be taking in the form of supplements each day.

Pros My skin is 95% clear!
Little zits GONE!
Big pimples gone!
Cons More blackheads, but nothing I can't manage.
Bottom line I've been using a special regime for about two months, and I saw results, but not quite what I had wanted. I started taking 2 30 MG zing lozenges everyday, along with 2 fish oil capsules, and my skin is SO MUCH BETTER. I get about 1/4 of the zits, but when I get them they heal so much faster! It used to take about 5 days for one of my zits to completely disappear, now it takes 1-2 days. I am so amazed! I love this product. I honestly can't believe something is finally working for me. It's so easy, not messy at all, and I am finally seeing the results I have always wanted. :)

Pros -Reduces pimple size
-Cheap
-Effective!
Cons Nausea. I take one after dinner every day and even on a full stomach i still get a little nausea. Nothing terrible though.
Bottom line This WORKS. I take one every day (50mg) and the only pimples I get are like 10x smaller than what i used to get, theyre more like tiny red bumps. I love it! Not magic, didnt completely cure my acne, but definitely helps.

Pros WORKS ON ALL TYPE OF ACNE
Cons Nausea...i threw up once while in a drive threw...lol TAKE WITH FOOD NOT ON EMPTY STOMACH...
Bottom line it works. maybe not like in a day or two but like 2 weeks to a month and its totally worth the wait

-take with food
-do not exceed 100
-take at least 30 mg
-take opti zinc or chelated gluconate
-zinc oxide is usually used topically but orally is more effective
-zinc inhibits the enzyme (enzyme 5α-reductase) that converts testosterone to DHT (DHT causes acne not testosterone.)
-when you cry prolactin is increased.. prolactin increases production of that DHT enzyme....
for reals peeps...believe me out of anything its your best acne fighter...
-DO NOT TAKE THE CHEAP KIND...WALMART BRAND IS A WASTE GO TO VITAMIN SHOPPE OR YOUR LOCAL HEALTH FOOD STORE OR YOU ARE JUST WASTING YOUR MONEY...
-to test if your zinc is truly good quality take on empty stomach, if no nausea, your zinc is a rip off...

Pros Cheap
Face isn't as oily
Cons No real improvement regarding breakouts
Bottom line I have been taking a 25mg for 4 weeks. After reading some reviews, think I am using too low of a dose to see any type of improvements. I am only using 25mg - so for those of you wondering, this is probably not enough. I'll try upping my dose to 50mg and see if anything happens then and write another review again.

Pros very accessible, didn't make me nauseous at all
Cons didn't work for me. my dermatologist prescribed me 30 grams a day for 2 months to see if it would work on my stubborn, cystic acne. the first few weeks were a nightmare - i was shedding skin and developing massive pimples and whiteheads all along my "problem" areas, mainly my chin. i kept taking it, hoping that this was just a "purging" phase, but my skin didn't really get better. i broke out majorly along my jawline, i woke up every morning to a million new whiteheads, and it was just ter
Bottom line i know this works for a lot of people, but i just wasn't one of them. finally, after a month and a half, i stopped taking it and went back to my derm, who prescribed me accutane. in the two weeks between stopping zinc and starting accutane, my massive breakout alongside my jawline (which was practically purple with the zits and the scars) began to slowly heal. really, i completely blame it on the zinc. wish it worked for me since it's so easy to deal with, but no. also, didn't really help with oil control either.

Pros Zinc works. I'm not 100% clear, but there is a HUGE improvement. I no longer get big breakouts, rather, I get a small pimple here or there. My skin is way less oily too! I can wear less makeup now because I don't really need it except to cover the scars. Just try it!!! I wish I had known about the benefits of zinc years ago!
Cons None
Bottom line I don't like to swallow pills, so I take two zinc lozenges a day (each is 23 mg.) I take them after a meal and have never had and problems with nausea. It's super cheap, I think I got a two month supply for around $6.

Also, try the Zinc Margarite cream. I've been using that for a week at night and it makes a huge difference. Basically speeds up the healing process and can shrink some blemishes in just one night. Doesn't dry my skin out more than any other acne products.

Pros Reduced oil. Before I had to dab the excess oil off of my face all day long, and now I don't have to!
I also started applying lemon juice topically overnight and drinking it with my water, but I think taking one 50 mg pill of zinc on top of this added to clarity
Bottom line Taking 50 mg of zinc daily can't harm you! Zinc can only provide benefits for you. Even if this is not a miracle cure for acne, I believe it aids in preventing acne and is good for your overall health. (I am also on Dan's Regimen)
