Pros -Reduces Acne
-Reduces Oiliness
-Cheap easy to find at any local vitamin store (bought mine at GNC)
Cons -Can cause a bit of upset stomach if not taken with food
Bottom line -I've been taking zinc 50 mg for a few months now (3 1/2 months) and its definitely been working well
-(I've been on the regimen as well so its hard to say if its the pills or the regimen) but its definitely interesting to note that as soon as I started taking the Zinc pills 1 a day usually after supper (in combination with 3 fish oil pills with breakfast) that my face went really clear so I'm pretty confident in saying Zinc has helped a lot!
-Also if your like me you dont like going on quests to find products, this is a simple product nothing crazy you can find it at any supplement/vitamin store like GNC for 9$ its nothing drastic/ easy to use and works great!

*ps while your at GNC or vitamin store buy omega 3 fish oil pills the combination of that and Zinc 50 mg a day is that much better

Pros - Healthier complexion, meaning, more of a peachy and even skin tone (in combination with other supplements and topicals I use)
- Definitely doesn't break you out
- A paste made from one pill can really soothe a moderate pimple and take away redness
- No new pimples since I've been taking it
- A noticeable difference in the oiliness of my skin, and plus, it's summer, so I can REALLY tell, cause I get a very "sheened" up face in summer.
Cons None for me
Bottom line I went to GNC and got a bottle of Zinc 30 with 100 tablets. It's chelated. I take two a day: one with breakfast, one with dinner, so I get a total of 60 mg per day.
Zinc has caused me absolutely no side effects. Give it a shot!

Pros Gets rid of acne
Makes skin less oily
Makes bumps go away about 85%
Works Quickly
Cons Nothing--But apparently it makes some people sick to their stomach but not me.
Bottom line I have been taking this for almost 2 weeks now and I noticed it working within 3 days. It definitely helps acne scars and acne disappear about at least 85%. I haven't seen any new acne appear ever since taking it.

Pros Seems to be clearing acne, it's cheap and easy to take.
Cons If you don't eat enough afterwards you might throw up. In fact it happened to me. In the middle of school. It sucked. It also won't rid you of any access oil. But try drinking lots of water for that. It sometimes helps.
Bottom line I've only been taking it for about a week so I'm not 100% sure that it's working, but I haven't had any major breakouts since I started and for that, I'll keep taking it. I'm currently taking 50mg every morning.

Pros Eliminated all cystic and inflamed pimples.
Really cheap.
Convenient.
Cons Didn't reduce oil.
Slight nausea. Take it after a meal.
Bottom line I took 100mg per day. Zinc is very cheap and easy to use, and as far as I know it is not dangerous. It removed all of my inflamed pimples, now I just have to get rid of my excess oil. It also helps pimples heal and not turn into scars. Zinc got rid of about 50% of my skin problems by itself, and considering how easy it is and that nothing cures acne by itself, zinc is amazing. Just buy it and use it for at least a few weeks, and your skin will improve.

Pros easy to take
works very well on redness and bumps
Cons you have to take the right form of zinc in the right dose, otherwise it won't work
Bottom line I have done some research on zinc supplements and found out that you should best take zinc monomethionine, since this form is best absorbed. You could take other forms of zinc but then you should take more, because other forms of zinc are only absorbed for 30%. The dose of ACTIVE zinc you should take is 15 mg.
If you are on birth control pills or if you drink a lot of tap water you are likely to have a shortage of zinc because BCP's and tap water contain a lot of copper, which depletes zinc in te body. Then you should take 20-30 mg of active zinc a day.
I combine a zinc supplement with zinc cream, this has dramatically improved my (acne) rosacea within a week.

Pros big bumps 80% gone!
Face is less oily :)
cheap!
helps ur inmune system and liver
benefits of zinc for the general health are great.
Cons you have to remember to eat
Cannot be taken with Doxycline and other antibiotics
Bottom line I started taking 100mg of zinc because of the reviews I read.
To begin with, too much caffeine depletes the zinc in your body . And I was drinking about 4 cups a day for about a month before I started breaking out (cystic) Before that my skin wouldn't be completely clear but i'd manage it.
I have to say that about a week and a half after I started taking i saw a lot of improvement on my skin. It wasn't the miracle cure, but it was much better.
Also the recommended dose is about 50-100mg, DO NOT take more.
Zinc regulates helps your inmune system and makes a happy liver. (the liver is key in regulating hormones and in getting rid of toxins that cause acne)
Along with the zinc, I was also taking turmeric. I believe that both helped out.
(turmeric is AMAZING too! check it out)
