Pros: Extremely easy compared to other treatments, no side effects, worked really well Cons: none Bottom Line: I have been taking 80mg of zinc for two weeks and my skin has improved dramatically. Let me say that I didn't have active acne, but I had very prominent redness left over from severe acne. My face looked like I constantly was sunburnt and "angry." My skin was also very very oily. I also had quite a few blackheads on my nose, and clogged pores on my cheeks. So I started taking 30mg (Nature's Way) in the morning and 50 mg (Nature's Bounty) at night, both with meals. My redness has been reduced by about 85% and my skin is significantly less oily. I should mention that I got rid of my acne a while ago by adopting a vegan diet (except I still eat egg whites every once in a while), and the zinc only helped with the aftermath of the acne, so I can't say how well it works on current acne. Pros: Zinc really seemed to clear up my acne. I had a few acne scars on my face and a week after using the zinc it cleared up. The zinc is def worth trying. Cons: Nausea, Don't take zinc on a empty stomach, I took it one day on empty stomach and ended up with nausea. Bottom Line: It seems that the zinc really works. I take two 50mg zinc tablets daily so a total of 100mg daily of zinc. I have never seen my face as clear as this in awhile. Bottom line is if you are suffering with acne, you really need to try this product because I tried everything before zinc. I tried Proactiv , but I didn't see the results I wanted. I tryed Clean & Clear, it worked okay but not the results I was hoping. Try the zinc you got nothing to lose except the acne Recommended: Yes Usage: Tyler has used this item for a few weeks. Pros: My skin has improved so much! Give it a couple of weeks to fully take effect. Cons: It does make your stomach hurt a little bit but after two weeks i didn't notice it anymore. It's best to take it at night with dinner. Bottom Line: I would highly recommend trying 50 mg. of Zinc per day, its so easy but give it a couple of weeks to fully take effect on your skin. Zinc was the first supplement i tried that actually improved my skin. I have since slowly added others. First I added 500 mg of Niacin, then 400 I.U. of natural Vitamin E, and then I just recently added 350 mg Chromium. I noticed when I added the Niacin that it actually made my skin much less oily, never thought that was possible after everything else I've tried!! I buy the Natures Bounty brand of Zinc and (no flush) Niacin. They're very cheap like $6 Zinc, and $7 or $8 for the Niacin. I also use a mild foaming face wash-AM & BP gel at night, that's it. Pros: Works Cons: sometimes it can cause a little bit of stomach ache but it goes away quickly Bottom Line: ive been taking this for three months, it started working around two weeks. after that about two pimples a week now one every one or two weeks. it really has helped and my acne scars are getting lighter and lighter. Pros: This stuff has actually worked. I've been using it for almost 2 weeks now and i'm starting to see a change in my skin. My acne is not as inflammed as it as been, and my number of pimples have decreased. It also makes my skin smooth. Pros: CHEAP Cons: Didnt take away pimples/cysts. If you leave it on as a mask overnight you will you see chalk dust from the zinc all over your clothes and pillow. You have to be careful when eaten. Bottom Line: It didnt work. I wanted it to work so bad after seeing all the rave reviews. I had severe acne so I used it for 2 months and 3 weeks, and seen no results. I ended up going to a dermatologist because I was so devastated that this didnt work for me and i had millions of pimples/cysts all over my face!!! The dermatologist helped ALOT... I have no pimples or cysts now masha'Allah, (I use a combination of retin A at night and clindoxyl gel in the day).... but the search still continues for something over the counter, cheaper and natural.... Pros: Dries pimples, gets rid of oils on you face, dries wounds & cuts Cons: none Bottom Line: Im 22 years old, and I have really bad acne. Since I was 14 I have had acne and nothing helped. I tried every acne product I have seen in comercials, god knows Ive tried it all. Not only do I have really bad acne but I have scars from touching my acne and my face was a mess. About 3 months ago my brother told me to try zinc and I did. My face is really clear now.. Right away it started drying the redness in the scars so they were more blended in with my skin, and the acne has dried up, both on my face and on my back.......I do stop using it every time Im completely clear of acne and it returns, so I continue again................... What i usually do is drink a 50MG after dinner once a day, and after a daily shower I take one pill and dissolve it in water on my palm....use just enough water so the pill can become creamy...and rub it on my face, neck, and back.........it really everything out fast...( do it overnight, and you'll see results in the morning for sure)..... Pros: Seems to work pretty well. I still have pimples coming out but the redness is almost completly gone. I'm taking 50mg daily so not to overload my body. Use with gentle soap on your face and results are almost overnight. Cons: Makes my stomach a bit ill but it doesn't last long, only a few minutes. Bottom Line: - Easy to swallow. - No unpleasant smell (such as Vitamin B pills that smell horrid!) - Work fast - Not a miracle cure for acne but does help stop redness and breakouts. Pros: Only cost me 2 pounds! Its easily accessible. Works relatively quickly. Cons: You have to take a fair bit to see results. Bottom Line: After taking it for a few weeks I definitely see results. I take 45mg - 60mg of zinc gluconate each day. Although it is no cure, i still get acne, it is a lot less frequently and also seems to help reduce it and rid it much quicker. If you can get it inexpensively, why not give it a go? Just make sure you stick with it for at least a month before you decide if its working or not.
