Pros Does not burn like Tretinoin Gel/Retin-A Gel.
Cons Did not calm down the cystic acne. Not as effective as Tretinoin. Very expensive--my health plan didn't cover it all that much so I paid $112.75 for a tube.
Bottom line Not worth it, except if you have mild acne. Not good for cystic acne.
Price paid $112.75

Pros combines a powerful antibiotic in Clindamycin 1.2% and Tretinoin .025%
Cons the tretinoin content is low so i have to use a fair amount. That can leave skin sticky.
Bottom line ITS GETS RID OF YOUR ACNE, used Duac (benzol and clin) and differin gel before the summer, I didn't work, I started Ziana in the summer while i was working and living in the woods with no AC and it cleared my acne in about a month. it says only use a pea sized dose, I use alot more and it works great.
Price paid $30.00

Pros Lightweight; Only need to put a little on (pea-sized); Works EXTREMELY well!
Cons Stains clothing; if too much is put on it causes irritation and it makes you REALLY sensitive to the sun..so be sure to apply sun lotion when going outside even the next day.
Bottom line I have tried SO many medications, prescription and all the natural stuff listed on this site, and NOTHING worked! My acne had been so bad for the last two years, I'd be popping so many zits everyday. Then I did Dan Kern's Regimen, which helped a lot, but my face felt like it was permanently sun burned (keep in mind BP promotes free radicals), even though it wasn't. So I saw the derm and demanded Acutane, but since my acne cleared up more from Dan Kern's Regimen, he recommended Ziana and Benziq/Benprox (5.25% BP Face Wash).
When you first start using Ziana, you'' notice that your face is really really oily, but that is because it's getting rid of all the sebum/oil in your face. And the best part is..the oil never caused me to break out!

My Regimen Now:
Morning: Wash Face with Benprox 5.25% Face Wash; apply moisturizer if needed
Night: Wash Face with Benprox 5.25% Face Wash; Wait for face to dry then apply a pea-sized amount of Ziana and apply it evenly throughout you

Pros Helps clear up large inflamed zits
Cons unbelievably drying and sooo harsh!
Bottom line My skin is not usually sensitive at all and I have used other retinoids in the past such as tazorac. But this stuff tore apart my face. I followed the directions exactly but after a couple of days my face became so dry that it started to crack! I felt like I was wearing a facial mask for about a week and my skin was as red as a tomato! It hurt so much and I couldn't even go out of the house my skin looked and felt so terrible. I called the derm and he told me to switch to only using it every 3 days and slowly work up to using it every day. Although the irritation has subsided quite a bit it is still making a mess of my face even though it's been nearly a month!!! I only really have a couple of zits left but my skin still looks horrendous because this stuff has left marks that look and feel like burns!!! I'm so afraid they are going to scar! I was so much better off before this. I'd rather have some zits than what looks like chemical burns.....
Price paid $15.00

Pros seems very light weight, no fregrnance
Cons seems too honeyish. Vey expensive, pharmacy wanted to charge me whole price (170 something) but I called my insurance and they ended up covering it
Bottom line I have not used it yet. I never had bad acne, until a month ago when I broke out like NEVER EVER before. I mean, I would normally have a pimple or two, but never on my forehead, nose or chin area. Now I have my whole forehead covered with grain size dots and a few whiteheads (which make me gag when I look at myself) and my cheeks and the whole chin area. My derm has no idea where it came from so she put me on cefdinir.... anyone ever heard of?! And ziena ... I am crying my eyes out because I look like a pizza face ... She refuses to put me on accutane though. Makes me so sad. I count days until my next appointment.

Pros None
Cons Very expensive $170 out of pocket with coupon and insurance would only pay $50. Very sensitive to sunburn. I think the derms are getting a big kick back from this company because the docs are pushing it hard and patients are not seeing improvments
Bottom line If you enjoy throwing away your money and wasting time applying then go for it.
Price paid $170.00

Pros Cleared me up pretty good for while.
Cons After about 3 mths my face starting breaking out again didnt seem to work anymore like my skin developed a resistance to it.
Bottom line Works okay at first may cause redness feels like you have sinus problems right after you put it on.After a while skin can develop a resistance to the medicine and you may start to break out again.
Price paid $35.00

Pros Light-weight, only once a day application
Cons a little drying and stining but definitely not bad at all
Bottom line I've only been on it for two weeks and I'm already seeing results! I really like this product because it's not too harsh or overdrying. My derm gave me enough samples to last two months so I can see if this product works for me before I buy it. It also comes with a rebate which is nice because it is pricey.
