Pros It clears skin within 3 weeks!! And I still get one or two around my period but hey, that's normal! I use this Ziana with a prescribed wash and medication. So they also have factors in the clarity of my skin. It costs about $500 without a prescription. But luckily my parents have great insurance and we only pay $20 per tube. The tube and the tube is quite large.
Cons It drys out skin if you use too much. You the amount the doctors tells you to. If you do have dryness use olay sensitive skin oil free lotion on your face it takes that oilyness right way, without clogging your pores. FYI it works great for people with oily skin because I have oily skin and it's perfect. But back to the product it also makes my face a little red but I cover that up with a quick dab of powder on my red areas.
Bottom line I extremely recommend this product because it is absolutely an agent that help me have no acne of my face.

Pros The best topical treatment (in combination with other prescripts) I've used yet. During the purging cycle, the antibiotic keeps my painful cystic acne from becoming the full blown nightmare that other tretinoins have produced. Has smoothed some older scarring.
Cons Purging does occur. Face is always reddish now. Skin can get flaky, and is much rougher. Some old scars seem to have gone white & really are very noticable against the overall ruddy color I now have.

Also, without insurance, the price is insanely high in my area.
Bottom line I have suffered with large, deep acne cysts for many, many years. The last tretinoin I was prescribed left horrible bulging cysts the size of a quarter and terrible scars. Some surgical removal was required. When my dermi prescribed this, I thought I was in for more of the same. Instead, the cysting stayed minimal and my face has really cleared up overall. I still get large deep cysts from time to time, but this is really the first topical that has kept things from really spinning out of control.

My biggest problem is the price. My insurance won't cover it because I'm over 35, and that's just wrong. After all these years of suffering I've finally found something that helps and they won't cover it. It costs $410 a tube here. My dermi is giving me samples, which I greatly appreciate, but I still have to buy a tube every so often.

Pros smaller pores
Skin isn't so oily
Softer skin
Almost no acne
Cons skin is peeling and extremely tender
Bottom line I'm 27 and ever since my hysterectomy 9 months ago my skin started breaking out like crazy. I've been using this gel for about a month. At first it seemed as if my skin got worse but this past week it just completely cleared up. The only downside to the product in my opinion is that it made my face sensitive to everything. Any type of moisturizer I use burns like crazy. The peeling is slightly annoying but tolerable. I would definitely recommend this product :)

Pros Cleared my blackheads on my forehead consistently
Cons Broke me out worse than i was when i started and i am already 3 months in.

Contributed to multiple, inflammed pimpled all over my face.

Supposed antibiotic in it does NOTHING to quell inflammation

Very drying (especially if used in combination with other products)

Not consistent at all as one day I'd be clearing up and the next day I'd be broken out again.

Never stopped new pimples from popping up. Three months in and i still get 2-3 new pimples EVERYDAY.
Bottom line This was work for some people but in my experience, it didn't work for me. My acne was mild to start with and i ended up getting multiple inflamed pimples that don't have pus, are red and show up on known breakout areas (chin) but also unknown areas (such as cheeks which are normally clear). Very disappointed in the time and effort i was on this product.

Pros Not irritating
Easy to use
Effective at treating both mild and cystic acne
Even skin ton
Cons VERY Drying initially
Takes time to work
Terrible initial breakout
Bottom line Some background: I have very temperamental skin that is prone to normal, mild acne in some spots and massive cystic acne in others. Topical treatments have never worked for me. After a horrible breakout a few months ago, I was put on Ziana. Initially, I had horrible dry skin, peeling and a terrible phase of constant purging. I have been using this product consistently for about 7 weeks and I can honestly say it has made a huge difference. The areas that had mild acne are completely clear, and the last of my cysts are healing. Give this product time to work and it will. Now I just have to deal with some mild scaring and I will be good to go!

Pros Skin is soft and smooth
no break outs!
reduced pore size
balanced out my combination skin
Cons none so far
Bottom line I've been using this for about a month now. I have combination skin that gets really flaky around my nose/mouth but I haven't had any of that way Zinea! I had a tiny bit of purging in the end but other than that no real side effects. I used this with a Cerave cleanser and moisturizer and I'm having soft, smooth skin!

My derm gave me a coupon so that the first tube was free and the next three tubes cost only $20. Such a good deal, especially because the tubes are GIANT.

Pros Reduces sun damage
Reduces pore size
Helps slough off old dead skin
Reduces overall acne
Makes skin smooth
Cons Lots of peeling skin and acne purging
Dry skin
Bottom line I used this product years ago and had fantastic results. I had to stop using it after four months because I was pregnant. I just went back to the derm and asked for this again. I am only on day 5, but I wanted to review based on my present and past experience. I am currently experiencing extremely dry skin and lots of peeling, but this is a good thing! Layers of old dead skin are coming off and my skin is getting smoother and clearer by the day! Things WILL get worse before they get better with this product. Last time that I used this product I experienced the same peeling and dryness for about a month. I only use a tiny bit all over my face at night. After the peeling ended I used ziana every other night to maintain my clear skin. This time I am seeing results much more quickly as my pores already look much smaller and the purging is less severe :) I wash my face with cetaphil and I use my clairsonic brush or a washcloth. I see much better results using something that helps to remove that peeling skin! I also moisturize constantly. Give this product a chance! It can take more than a month to see results. The dry skin look with makeup is not a good one, but if you suffer through it you will thank yourself in the end!!!

Pros -It makes parts of the skin soft
-It's not that expensive if you have insurance
Cons -Skin peels really bad around mouth
-Doesn't help if you use it as a spot treatment
-Doesn't help for cystic acne
-Makes it hard to apply makeup because skin is so dry
-Need tons of moisterizer
-Doesn't really clear acne at all, makes it look worse in fact
Bottom line I'm 19 years old and I have delt with acne for 8 years. It has been a battle to keep my skin clear. I have awful cystic acne. It takes about three to four weeks for one of my pimples to go down. I have really sensitive skin so they look blue like bruises. It is very hard to cover these spots and it gets harder when they are really dry all around the cyst. My acne makes me really depressed and keeps me locked up in my dorm room. I have been on Ziana gel for about a month and I have not seen any improvement in my cystic acne and the acne around my mouth has gotten so much worse because of how dry the Ziana makes my skin. It hurts to open my mouth and make expressions. If you don't have severe cystic acne, I would give this gel a try. But if you do, I wouldn't waste your time or money on it. I am going back to the drem to try something new this week. Best of luck to all of you that try this product.

Pros Smooth face
Better texture/ reduction in pore size
Worked quickly for me
Cons Diarrhea
Yeast infection
Face felt shiny
Bottom line Within 3 days my face felt as smooth as a babies behind. Texture was consistent and glowing. However the diarrhea is a bit concerning- I will probably have to stop. The warnings speak about colitis- something I dont want to risk. I might have to try something else. But my face feels incredible. I'm 28 and it has not felt like this since I was like 7.

Pros OMG it worked on my sun damaged skin so well that I just had to write a review. I am 56, work outside, and have had so much sun exposure in So Cal. This not only got rid of "surfer nose" but it gets rid of wrinkles! Unreal! The derm wanted to "freeze" parts of my nose; I would have looked like Bozo 4 three months! No way! Use this instead! Plus you can get it for $20 because the f-ing insurance (MedCo, lemme badmouth them) won't pay for it....
Cons None
Bottom line GET it!!!
