I TRIED THIS TWICE AND SCREWED UP MY SKIN FOREVER. BUT MY FRIEND USES IT AND IT MADE HER FACE GO FROM THE WORST ACNE EVER TO THE MOST FLAWLESS COMPLEXION I HAVE EVER SEEN. AND SHE HAD REALLY REALLY BAD SKIN. SO I RATED IT A 3. MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN THAT EITHER BIRTH CONTROL PILLS HELP YOU ACNE OR MAKE IT WORSE... IT JUST DEPENDS... BUT DONT SWITCH AROUND LIKE DOCTORS TELL YOU TO IF YOU ACNE FLARES UP... IT JUST MEANS THAT THE PILL ISNT RIGHT FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK.

I was put on Yasmin to control my PMS and heavy bleeding. The first month I was on it, I thought I won the lottery. I felt wonderful. My period was a bit lighter but a little longer. Went on my second pack. Everything changed. I'm extremely lightheaded, sick to my stomach, stomach cramps all the time, and I'm extremely tired, as if I've taken a sleeping pill. This has been going on for two weeks now. I can't function! I called my doctor and she said it can't be the pill since it worked just fine the first month. Oh yeah, not to mention the chest pain and breast tenderness all the time. After reading the info I have from this site, and on the worst-pills website (yasmine is on the DO NOT take list), I am no longer taking this pill. I would advise anyone thinking of going on this pill to do major research first.

Although I cannot say for certain that all of my symptoms are attributed to Yasmin, here is a list of the symptoms I have noticed over the last three years while on Yasmin and some of you may find commonalities:
POSSIBLE Side Effects (in order from most burdensome):
-Severe stomach problems (abdominal cramping, alternating bouts if diarrhea and constipation)
-Urinary problems (urgency, frequency, spasms, pain- however, no evidence of infection)
-Pain during intercourse
-Vaginal dryness
-Anxiety/panic attacks
-Depression/mood swings
-Nausea
-Hair loss
I must also point out that there have been some benefits of Yasmin and they are:
-regular periods
-improved acne
-lighter periods
-less severe cramps (although I still have cramps)

You are so naive if you don't think that you will eventually suffer any of the side effects after prolonged use! Check out that site... it will really open your eyes.
I no longer take Yasmin because it ruined my body, my health, and my life. Now that I'm picking up the pieces from the residual damage, I realize that this pill gave me problems from the start. For the first year or so I was on it, I was relatively ok. Second year, I began to decline gradually in mental faculties and other health. Now that I am off of it, I am returning to my old self- happy, healthier, and stable. If you know what is good for you, you will NEVER take this pill. It WILL happen to you, and I'm sure that it already is right now- you just don't want to believe it!

I have found Yasmin to be great - I am older (46) & have had acne since age 12 - it has now finally cleared. Also, periods are way lighter now & PMT has vanished. I have found it a fabulous pill & recently my 14 y.o. daughter has started to try to clear her acne.

My gyno put me on the pill to regulate my period and to minimize acne etc. Yasmin is the worst ever! ive been on it for just over a month and im going back in a few days to be takin off immediatly. ive been moody, irritable, my acne has gotten significantly worse, my cramps were the worst in my eight years of periods and they were for almost three weeks. I am always drowzy and tired and my period has been so thick.
i recommend to anyone to seek alternative birth control- im not even using it for birth control and its making me depressed!

Yasmin almost made me end my own life. It gave me the worst anxiety I ahave ever experienced. I could barely leave the house for fear of another panic attack. I was hospitalized and they determined that it was the cause .Also it gave me irritable bowel syndrome temporarily, went away when I got off it. Still dealing with intense anxiety 5 months after quitting it.
