I just started on Yasmin for about 2 weeks now and I feel completly tired and have a under the weather feeling. I am not a depressed person and very healthy normally. I also feel moody throughout the day. I also have been constipated since using this. I am now reading these comments from others and realize that this pill is possibly to blame. WOW! not good. The only plus I have had is I do not have a appetite at all. Which is good for me, because i wanted to loose 12 pounds.

I went on Yasmin to regulate my periods and mainly to clear up my skin. I have found it pretty good, so far, although I've only been on it for one month. I have noticed some mood swings. But my skin is not that much better? Which is strange. All the people from America that have commented.,.. maybe they are producing a different batch over there because a lot of my friends and family take it and they don't get even half of the symptoms you all are getting? Strange!

I started Yasmin 2 months ago and about 2 weeks ago I thought I was going completely crazy. I was convinced I had chronic fatigue as I have been soooo tired and moody and just DOWN!! I have now just worked out it is this pill and I am stopping RIGHT NOW. It is not for me.

I didn't start Yasmin for acne, just for BC. I haven't taken BC since I was 18 (I'm now 37). I've been on antidepressants for almost 10 years and my moods have been fairly consistent (except when I was pregnant!) Anyway, I decided to give Yasmin a try as I thought advances would have been made in all the time it's been since I took BC. I've been on it for 3 DAYS and I could barely motivate myself to get out of the house yesterday. I was weepy and extremely irritable. The worst is that I couldn't even control it in front of my 2 year old. I did some research today and I have happily decided not to take that pill anymore. I cannot believe the effect it had in just a few days. Unbelievable that Dr's prescribe this without an extreme warning.

My daughter was switched from ortho-tri-cyclene to yasmin in January 05. The nurse practitioner did not ask any questions, just handed her a packet of pills. Almost immediately the mood swings, severe depression, EXTREME panic attacks along with heaviness in the chest and shortness of breath began. After four months of this poison, and thinking she was going crazy and being stressed out from being away at college, it finally hit me when I found this fabulous forum. She is home now for summer and off the poison for three days. She is being checked by physicians to see if these symptoms, which so many of you seem to have, are definately related to the Yasmin. If anyone knows about how long it will take for the yasmin to clear out of her system and return to normal, PLEASE write back!!

I have been taking Yasmin for a little over a year after going off of Depo Provera. I, too, am plagued with horrible emotional problems around the time of my period and extreme fatigue and weight gain (even though I work out). I am going off of it as soon as my pack is finished.

Yasmin made me think I was going crazy. I would cry at the drop of a hat and would have uncontrolable crying fits. I am not depressed and this was causing me more stress than I was already in. This is the worst pill that I have ever been on and will never recommend it to anyone. I didn't get pregnant and my periods were regular, but that is the only good it did. I had chest pain for no reason and experienced vaginal dryness, very inconvenient. I am still alive, but the anxiety problems and all of the other side effects aren't worth it.

After being on it for a a year, I just stopped taking Yasmin because of chronic yeast infections. Six months into taking it, I started to get yeast infections during ovulation every month for 6 months. I went to my doctor several times, and she refused to believe it was my birth control. I told her how this had happened to my sister several years earlier when she was on Yasmin, but my doctor insisted on doing tests to see if there were any other problems. Finally I couldn't take it anymore and demanded that she switch me. I am still recovering from my last yeast infection, which has now lasted for a month, and Diflucan has stopped working as a cure for my yeast infections. At this point I am not sure how to get rid of it. Aside from the yeast infections, I thought Yasmin was fine pill because I was regular, no mood swings or depression, and I lost a little weight. Also, I did not break out on it, nor did I have hair loss.

Hi there,

I've been on Yasmin for 3 weeks. I'm extremely fatigued and feel depressed. I'm not sure what to do after reading all of your comments. I've suffered from cystic acne and have scarring from it so I'm dreading that this pill will aggravate it once more. Please advise and what pill is good for you?
