Started it three months ago and my acne is the worst it has ever been. At first I felt extremely sick and had headaches now I don't feel as sick or headachey but still have to deal with the bad skin...

I've recently switched to Yasmin from other pills and I'm very satified so far. I used to experience mood swings on Apri, and horrible mood swings on Ortho-Tricyclen, but they've gone away completely on Yasmin! I'm also not experiencing the breakthrough bleeding I was on previous pills. My acne is gone, and I don't feel bloated. So far, so good!

Its been 5 days, I feel bloated. My skin is same. On the 3rd day I felt like I have drank 10 cups of coffee. This fifth day is not so bad.I feel more calm. I know I have to stick with it for a month to see if it works for me, I have had oily/acne skin for years, lets see if it helps that out. Posted 02/21/05- Seymone

I have been on Yasmin for 3 years now. I am 26 and startd the pill when I was 13 due to ab-normal periods. In all those years I ony took a 1 1/2 off. I have noticed a bit more pimples on Yasmin. I take it continously so I skipp 6 periods in a row. At my doctors advise. When I do get my period it is medium in flow, but the headaches are really bad. I am going of Yasmin as of toady for a while. I love the fact that I never had to worry about getting prego, but I am soooo bloated all the time and very tired. I hope all goes well off of the pill, I do have a pack waiting for me, next month if I feel the need. I want to feel that free feeling again with out ingesting hormones every day.

Didn't work. I went on it for about 4 months to take a break from Dianette and my acne came back very quickly so I rushed back to dianette again! Later I took a pill called celeste when I came off dianette and that worked well - only a few spots now and then, although after about 6 months they were on the increase again...Yasmin had no side effects - also no effect! It was like taking a placebo.

I've been on four different birth control pills in the past five years and this one is ok I guess. My cramps are worse when I'm not on any pill so with this one it's good. Ortho Tri Cyclen was the WORST b/c I had insane mood swings, etc. With this one I'm pretty stable. Only thing I hate is a week before my period I get breakouts on my chin. The really big nasty spots that last a week. I detest them. I'm thinking of not taking any birth control, but that's bad because if you're sexually active it's the best birth control method. I just wish there was something women could take/do that was less invasive than digesting hormones! the measures we go through to NOT have kids!

I have been on Yasmin for about a month. I haven't noticed much of a change in my skin, which is a good thing since I never really get acne. I have had mood swings, and sometimes feel bloated. I haven't noticed any significant weight change though, and hope that I do not gain any weight.

I gradually felt more tired, more irritable, and more depressed the longer I was on Yasmin. Since there is a history of depression in my family, I just figured it was unavoidable that I began having it too. For months, I thought I had mono because of my headaches and tiredness, then I thought it was just normal depression...until I couldn't get out of a severe depressed state, which I was in for about a week. I had resorted to burning myself and attempted to take my own life several times. Finally, I stopped taking the pill and a few days later I felt like myself again. I realized that I hadn't felt normal since I began the pill.

My doctor started me on Yasmin in October 2000 when my insurance would no longer cover Ortho-cept. In April 2002 I finally relented and went to see my general doctor about severd depression and he put me on an anti-depressant. I still did not feel quite right. In October 2004 I ran out of Yasmin and could not get in to see my GYN until January 2005. So, I was off it for 3 months. My sex drive skyrocketed! I was happy! Things were great!! Then in January 2005 I went back on Yasmin. Within a week I was no longer interested in sex and was extremely sad. I was crying at the drop of a hat. After three weeks, I confided in my husband that I was not feeling well and together we surmized that it was the YASMIN! Thinking back, that is probably why I went on the anti-depressants! I have stopped taking it and already feel better. IF YOU BEGIN TAKING YASMIN, PLEASE PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION TO YOUR MOODS TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T HAVE THIS AWFUL SIDE AFFECT. Believe me, it is not worth it.
