I used Yasmin for 2 years, and it worked great, but now that I've been off of it for a few months my face has broken out worse than ever. If you get on it and it does well, my advice is never stop taking it.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I have used Yasmin for the last 5 years on a 3month cycle (3 months without period taking continuos pills, 1 week off pills for period). I started taking yasmin to regulate my period and it worked wonders. It also help IBS symptons from period because it made my period lighter and less cramps. After reading all the posts the only thing I could possibly agree with is finding my sex drive went down. I believe this happens with many BC. I also found that going from ortho-tri-cycline to yasmin actually made me a happier person.

I have been on yasmin for 3 months after switching from ortho tri cyclen. In just 3 months I have gained about 15 pounds and cannot fit in any of my clothes nor could I lose lose the weight. Since the first month my face has broken out with cystic acne. Very upset with the way I look and feel I have stopped taking yasmin. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Ok so I just finished my first pack of Yasmin..ERRR I couldn't figure out why I was breaking out sooo much and then nausheous every morning! Well I went back to the gyn and let her know. "Well if you take it in the morning that is a side effect and it can very well make you break out! During this month I also became depressed, not quite understanding why and where ALL the anxiety was coming from the pills? Maybe

I'm suprised reading about all these negative experiances. I have been on Yasmin for three months and
1: My acne is gone.
2. My PMS and cramps are gone.
This is exactly what I wanted from the pill. Although I do see a negative side effect in a lower sex drive, - for me it has been worth it. I'm so sorry though for those of you who have had all of these problems like depressions and stuff, for me it has been the opposite. Life seems easier and my emotional life is no longer related to the monthly cycles.

I'm scared. I just started Yasmin last night and I wanted to have less cramps and lighter periods and get clearer skin and lose weight, which I see it kind of does do. I don't know though because I am leaving for college in a month and I am scared that I'll be EXTREMELY depressed. I guess everyone has different reactions though... e-mail me at [email address removed] if you have any advice please! With YASMIN as the subject. Thank u!

I was on Yasmin for FOUR YEARS and within that time came to have Vocal Chord Dysfunction (VCD is caused by acid relux, which I NEVER had prior), panic attacks, heart palpitations, chest pain, trouble breathing, leg cramps, major emotional outbursts, migraines twice as often (I already suffered from them), and went from having a very good sex life with my husband to NO DESIRE WHATSOEVER. Of course every year when I would have my papsmear I would advise my OBGYN about this and she (without hesitation) would tell me I could see a counselor, go on anti-depressants, etc. So, for four long years I continued to have these health problems and went to different specialists for my ailments. I just kept having to take more and more pills for different things. I got scared a couple of times because I had very bad heart palpitations and anxiety. Because this is a side effect of the VCD, I was told this was just something I would have to "learn to control" with breathing exercises. These horrible situations would occur sometimes when I was asleep, so I would wake up in a panic and just pace around.
Coinsidently, I was talking to a co-worker and finally mentioned all of these side effects, especially my total lack of sex drive. She asked me if I was taking BC and I told her what it was. She had a look of horror on her face and told me her daughter had experienced horrible side effects on Yasmin and ended up in the hospital for blood clots. She recommended for me to stop taking it and to look for another method of BC.
Last night was the first time I have missed a pill in four years and refuse to take it again. I am praying that I will feel normal again and regain my sex life (after all, I have a very patient and loving husband that has had to cope with this crap). I also plan to see my OBGYN again and ask for some explanation as to why I was NEVER TOLD to get off of this damn thing when I constantly advised her of my problems... maybe I'll have to look for another OBGYN...
Sorry this post was so long, I just wanted to add my story as well. Good luck to all of you!

I've been on Yasmin for a year, and I am very happy with it. My skin is perfect, my periods are light and agreeable (no more mind-numbing cramps, bloatedness, tender breasts, or excessive bleeding), and my temperament remains the same. The only thing I would complain about is vaginal dryness, and that is easily remedied with a nice over the counter lubricant. Overall, I would highly recommend it.

I just stopped jasmin after reading all the posts. I'm shocked to read all the side effects like loosing hair, constipation, moodiness, etc. I personally have been on it for 2 months and I've been crying more, constipated, and have terrible acne cysts on my chin. STOP TAKING YASMIN!

I was prescribed yasmin to stop a 15 day period that caused my blood pressure to rise and anemia. I have been on it now for 10 days and although the bleeding has stopped, it is having a very bad effect on my mood. I feel so uptight, depressed and angry that I cannot continue. I flushed them in the toilet last night figuring it would be better to bleed than to commit suicide or murder!!!!!!!!!!!!!
