Yasmin (Birth control) Reviews

I'm on my 3rd month of Yasmin and it has been like a miracle treatment for me. My skin is completely, 100% free of acne and has been for several weeks now. This pill is wonderful, it's the only BC pill that does NOT make me feel hungry all the time, in fact I feel like I have less of an appetite now (which is a good thing!). I have not gained any weight on this pill, it does not have any negative side effects and it has given me CLEAR SKIN!!! YAY!!! I HIGHLY recommend Yasmin for any woman having hormone related (cheeks, mouth area, jawline) related acne.

i took dianette for 7yrs to help with the problems around polycystic ovary syndrome. the main problem being acne, and feeling very low even suicidal. just over a year ago i was bullied into changing to yasmin. my husband and i tried to be firm but you think doctors know best. i immediatly started to get moody and couldnt cope with things that i normally did. it has been a year now and my symptoms have all returned in an almost aggressive way. i feel shocked and let down but i do have a good doctor now who is going to return me to dianette in a couple of days. i just want to say thank you to all the brave ladies, who have shared the terrible things that this pill can do to you on this web site, if it wern't for you i may not make the next couple of days until i get my dianette back. but always remember one thing, you know yourself better than anyone, stick to what you know works for you.

I've been on Yasmin for about two or more years and it cleared up my acne and my face wasn't oily anymore. About nine months ago I decided to go off of it to see if it would help me lose weight (it didn't) and my face broke out again. I went back on Yasmin after about three months and my face has once again cleared up. I do experience bloating right before my period (but I'd rather have that than the acne) and my periods are much lighter and last between 4-5 days. My question after reading all the other comments is...is the woman's body chemistry so messed up after being on Yasmin that when you do decide to go off of it, you're going to have to live with bad acne for the rest of your days?

My Dermatologist just wrote me a prescription for Yasmin to eleviate my cystic acne. All these side effects sound horrible and so diverse. I really hope this works, because I've been on antibiotics for years and used ProActive, RetinA, OTC creams and even Accutane. My cysts always come back, which is why I'm trying Yasmin.

Yasmin is the worst product I have ever tried. I have never been so depressed in my life. Sometimes I will just randomly cry out in pain and I don't know what wrong! It's become very draining. I advise all women out there to stick to another brand!

I have been struggling with bad skin for awhile. Went on Dianette- that was the worst!!! picked up 5kg's instantly, felt bloated constantly, bad moods and bad skin. I also experienced bad period pains due to cists on my ovaries. started using Yasmin a few months ago. My period pains cleared up immediatly and no more mood swings. I did experience nausua in the beginning but not anymore. In the first two months, my skin got really bad and i considered to stop taking yasmin altogether. The doctor then told me that it takes 4 months for the body to get used to any birth control pill and that i must stick to using Yasmin as it is a very good pill for acne and it does not have the severe side effects that dianette has. so i continued using yasmin and now after 4 months of using it, my skin is clear and beautiful and i feel great. So, give yasmin at least for months to work, you will be amazed at the results!!

Today is the end of my second pack of Yasmin, and it will be my last pack too. Mood swings, crying, depression, blowing things out of proportion, suicidal thoughts - all of these have affected me since starting to take this BCP. Was on Dianette for 10 years and didn't have these side-effects. Not sure where to go next, but know that leaving Yasmin in my past is the first step. My advice to anyone experiencing the same symptoms: you are not going crazy! It's a side-effect that affects some women, and it's not you losing your mind!

I have been on yasmin for about a week n a half and have decicded to finish this month and quit. I have been very emotional and it made me break out...I started taking b/c to help with cramps and regulate me...I'd rather get the cramps and irregular periods compared to the breakouts and rollercoster emotions!!!

I begun taking Yasmin a month ago to help with acne, bloating and PMT. For the last month I felt like I have been hit over the head with a sledge hammer - I was extremely tired - everyhting was an effort - and I found myself crying at anything. I have now stopped taking it and have begun to revert back to my usual self. Please - as the other comments on this page suggest = watch your moods - it is not you it may be Yasmin!

I ahve been on it for about a week and a half and i NEVER got acne before and mine is getting SO bad i am breaking out really bad on my forehead its horrible!! and im bloated!!! ah!
