I have never taken Yasmin, but I have taken every other BC pill in the book! Ortho-Trycyclen, Allesse, Diane 35, you name it... I found Marvelon to be the best for Acne. I had nice clear skin while on it. The side effects was major water weight (I gained 10 pounds and kept on gaining more, even after working at losing it). I also had migranes (which I still have), nausea, depression, and my sex drive was very low. I felt really bad for my boyfriend cause I had no desire whatsoever. But I have to admit that for acne, it was great. The big problem is when you stop taking it. Your body gets sooo used to it that when you stop, you break out 500 times worse than you ever did before. I stopped taking it about 1.5 years ago and my face is horrible. I feel like a monster. My acne is all over my face, my neck even my scalp. It itches like a rash and cover up can only do so much. I though by now it would have gone back to normal, but it just keeps on getting progressively worse and worse. I hope this helps you in any way.

I restarted takin Jasmin after four years of being off of it. I stopped it before after the tenth month because I began to expeirence headadaches. This is the third week of being on it again and im confused. I have broken out with I guess acne around my chin area. I have never broken out in this way. Family, coworkers, friends and even my doctor boss ask whats wrong with my face. I do get sad for no reason even when i feel the happiest. I have cried, feel tired and some people annoy me. Im glad that my boyfriend is being understanding and patient. I am really confused about this birth control. And yes I crave food 24 7. Think ive even gained about threee pounds this month.??????? me confused. My face is what really bothers me right now. Think about it I guess. Good luck

I had been prescribed Yasmin for my acne. From the moment I started taking it my skin became worse and worse. I had never had cystic or nodular acne...but it developed with the Yasmin! Furthermore, this pill made me feel tired, bloated, moody...pretty much miserable alllll the time. I gained 10 pounds on this pill in less than 2 months, and I am a tiny...or WAS a tiny person. I also developed bruising throughout my legs while on Yasmin. My breasts also became very tender. This BC makes you feel as if you are pregnant!!! I definitely had a significant loss in my sex drive as well. My boyfriend and I would fight daily mostly about nothing at all. I was just miserable and would snap at the slightest things. Yasmin made me someone I was not. However, my dermatologist told me that it has successfully cleared the skin of many other females who have hormonally related acne. So, my advise would be to give the pill a try if it is for your skin. However, immediately stop taking the pill if you notice any serious side effects. In terms of birth control, I would just use another pill/method. I hope this helps. Good Luck to all!

I have been on Yasmin for three weeks now. My skin is definitely smoother but I continually get cysts on my face. I lost 5 pounds the first week I started taking Yasmin. My appetite is weird - I feel hungry all the time but the smell of food makes me want to throw up so I cannot eat as much as before. My mood is fine but physically I feel tired most of the time so it kind of looks as if I'm depressed. I am going to keep taking this pill for the next three months and see what happens.

My Doctor recommended this birth-control pill without telling me about the depressive side effects. I found Yasmin to be pure evil. After three months of taking it I attempted to taking my own life. I had never had such sever debilitating depression and anxiety before. The pill triggered uncontrollable feelings of hopelessness which I wouldn't wish on anyone. After explaining to my Doctor I was crying for no reason and could find no reason to carry on living...he apologized and said it was a well known side effect of Yasmin and I should stop taking it. Now when I read about young 'happy' Girls committing suicide,([link removed] feel like contacting the Coroner to ask if they had just been put on Yasmin.

Wow! I've been on yasmin for three weeks and my skin has completely cleared up and looks lovely. Nothing else had helped me, not even dianette or anitbiotics. It's early days I guess my my skin has gone from raw looking and sore to peachy and i am bloody happy. try it, tho i feel sorry for boys, because of course they can't! also a friend of mine has just been taken off dianette and put on to yasmin and her sex drive has gone up so erm...that's good! as long as you have a boyfriend1

i've been on yasmin for 8 months. the first couple months i experienced unusual severe crying spurts for no reason. i also have read 3 self help books--before yasmin i never read self help books to help combat worry and anxiety. i am really glad and comforted to know that i am not alone. i definitly cried a lot more teh first 3 months i was on yasmin. however, 8 months later i still feel like sometimes i have to "cheer myself up" which i never used to have to do.

i started taking yasmin about three weeks ago. I have been on other pills before which made me very moody and angry and depressed but i do not feel this way on yasmin. one thing i have noticed is that i am hungry all the time and i feel bloated since my period which finished a week ago. i started taking it for my acne and painful periods , my acne hasnt cleared up yet because pimples take five weekes to develop and dissappear so i will let everybody know if it clears up the acne!

My period pains calmed down to a slight twing and i lost 2 1/2 stone in the first year, the only down side was that after the first year the weight i had lost came back on...therefor i was forced to come off it for health reasons, i'm now heavier than when i first started and doubt i'll be able to get back onto a combined pill thats as good as Yasmin was.
