I have started taking Jasmin this month in an effort to sort out my severe PMS symptoms that I have been experiencing over the last two years.

Theh PMS hit suddenly and since then, for at least two weeks of every month I've been through everything - fatigue that kept me bed bound, crying spells, irritability, loss of concentration, severe anxiety and depression, panic attacks - feeling only myself for one week of the month. It seems that certain pills have made it worse, herbal tinctures play around with the balance, make acne improved/worsen - I can really see a change in the oileyness of my skin - and the best bit is that it changes day to day and generally makes you feel crazy and convinces people around you that you are!

On my third week on Jasmin I've had all the above during the first week +IBS and increased appetite +huge highs and lows. Today, strangely I'm on a high and I feel great.

On BC pills, off pills, it seems that you just gotta find something that matches you and your internal balance. All the symptoms that have been said here I've had on different pills aswell - but also when I'm on nothing. Its really hard to tell whats responsible and a lot of the time I feel like tube of chemicals where the hormones are in charge!

This whole experience has all been very strange for me as historically I've always felt pretty stable and together in myself. Its difficult feeling like your sense of well being has been hijacked - but I think you've just got to try everything to see if you get a match.

If you feel not yourself, lose your sense of wellbeing and cannot relax at all then its your body saying its not fitting. However, I think you do have to give it a chance as all this stuff is so gradual and its hard to make an anxious free decision while your body is adjusting!

Will let you know if this is just an artificial high or not, or whether this pill sustains for me this time! ...however I think it may make you rant too!

I have been taking this pill for 3 weeks now...I feel terrible mentally and emotioanlly. I already have a history of depression/anxiety and have been taking Paxil/Paroxetine for almost 4 years now with no problems. I started this BCP and now I am a mess. Crying constantly, detached from reality, anxiety attacks, tired all the time, no appetite and zero sex drive. I'm just glad I found sites like this to help me figure out what has been wrong with me!! No way I'm continuing with this pill.

Ive only been on Yasmin for a week now, but i have seen a few results... My skin wasnt too bad to begin with, but it has cleared up a little bit. I have less breakouts, but its a little better. My period is normal so hopefully it will be lighter.. However, the first night i took the pill the morning after i threw up. But I was just starting college the next day so it could of been my body going crazy! so i hope this pill does wonders for my skin! cuz i dont wanna worry bout break outs in college! i cant believe all of these other comments.. they scare me! i hope i dont gain weight either.. but i run everyday so i think ill be okay!! but i recommmend yasmin! i dont think its bad so far!

Hi, I just started taking Yasmin 3 weeks ago, two days ago I forgot to take a pill, so the next day, when I noticed my period starting, (light spotting), I took a pill, then another a few hours later, as per the instructions. I had the most terrible diarrhea, stomach cramps, it has completely wiped me out, at first I thought it was a stomach bug, but apart from some nausea, it hasn't made me physically ill. And of course when i started the course, I felt the worst nausea for about 3 days. My skin began to clear, i had some acne issues, but when I forgot the pill, it broke out even worse then before, cystic acne, its awful. So I am going to take Roaccutane and finish with this Yasmin because I can't see it being very healthy long term, especially if to maintain the benefits to the skin you have to take it forever! What if you want to stop and have a baby? I can see its just another way of delaying the inevitable...a face full of acne. So I think that it is not a good pill at all. I would go to Diannette before I would use this one again. I would use an IUD before I would use a pill. Taking the pill doesn't fix acne long term. It only delays the underlying problem from errupting. Hope this helps!

I am on my third week. When I first started it, I thought I felt like I was pregnant (morning sickness). Fortunately, it stopped soon after. However, lately I have felt very depressed and moody. I am planning a wedding which will take place in three weeks so I started worrying that my constant state of depression meant that I did not want to get married. I even spoke with my fiance about going to a psychiatrist regarding my depression. I realized when I saw an ad for Yasmin last night that I had never even been told the side effects. Today, I thought I would just check it out online. I would have never thought that my depressed mood lately would be caused by my BC. Now, I am glad that I am not just going crazy or worse....cold feet!

so i started using Yasmin for birth control and to clear up my skin. i've been on retin-a, clindamycin, differin, tarozac & duac cream (ive just started both of those last month) to name a few medications. i get more white heads then cystic acne, and hwen i started using yasmin, i noticed a difference within the first two weeks--nothing drastic but the best i have seen it in the past few months. then i got my period during the white pill week, and my acne got a lot worse. my complexion got a lot redder, and i got one cyst on my chin and then a lot more whiteheads on my cheeks and around my mouth and my chin. did anyone that had success with this pill have a similar thing happen to them? cleared up after the first couple weeks and then got worse? did it get better after 3 or 4 months? i know i'm supposed to give it a couple of months but this has not helped clear up so far, but it did in the first few weeks, and i am halfway into my second month. please e-mail me, [email address removed] if you have had success overall with your skin. i am just nervous that if my skin has gotten worse so far, then chances are this pill isn't right for me in the longrun. thank you!

I have been on Yasmine for one month. I've come to realize in my "old age" that it takes a good 3 months for a body to get acclimated to new medication. I have been fortunate so far. Just a little weight gain which is more my fault than the fault of the medication and I have started noticing my face FINALLY clearing up. I have had bad cystic acne for quite a while.
For all those reading all these comments and thinking of changing, remember this, most people on these boards have come here because they are unhappy, so naturally most comments will be negative. If people are happy with something, they will not go looking on the internet for suggestions, would they? Stay positive and open minded.

I just started taking yasmin 1 month ago, so that I can start Accutane (which i'll be starting tomorrow)My insurance pays for it, since my gyno put for cramps. My skin has gotten fairer (in Indian culture thats a good thing!!), my hair has more shine to it. However my acne has become WORSE, i vomitted the first 2 weeks i was on it, I also never had cramps before and now I'm starting to. But it really regulated my period which is a good thing since it cleanses your body out right? I guess I'll notice more of the side effects after a few months...I shouldn't be too quick to judge, afterall its only BC pills its going to be used in a combo program so it shouldddd work hopefully...pray 4 me pplz!

I urge anyone who has written on this website or anyone who has side effects from Yasmin to call Berlex Laboratories to report them. Berlex is the distributor in the United States for Yasmin, and their phone number to report a side effect is:

1-888-BERLEX4 (or 1-888-237-5394)

Follow the prompt to report your side effect and a live person will speak to you and take your information. It's extremely important that you share your information with the company if for some reason this stuff isn't safe for consumption.
