I was prescribed Yasmin in Sept 2004 due to acne which was the result of my irregular periods. It worked wonders for my skin - it cleared up within 3 months and stayed clear. I experienced slight headaches and fatigue, but nothing unbearable. I decided to stop taking Yasmin in May 2005 simply because I did not want to take any sort of pill long-term. My skin stayed clear after that and I had no problems. However, I went travelling in August for 2 months and the consequent stress and change of lifestyle disrupted me periods and now my skin is terrible. I'm back on Yasmin now and have been on it for 2 weeks, but there's been no sign of improvement yet, I hope there will be! I would recommend Yasmin, and now wish I had continued with it atleast till after returning home after travelling . Do not discontinue it if you have stressfull times or a change in lifestyle ahead.

I have been on Yasmin for about 6 weeks. I started it specifically to help with my acne. I have noticed that my pores are smaller, but otherwise have seen no real effect on my acne. My doctor told me it might take a couple of months to see results though, so I am hoping things will improve.

I have been taking Yasmin for just over 3 months and have started noticing very good results.

* My acne has almost completely cleared up (I have also been using Murad Acne skincare and supplements).

* I have lost a little weight and do not feel tired or get mood swings (like I did when I took Diane 35).

This pill took a good 3 months until I started to notice results, so be patient. In NZ it is not subsidised but I still think the cost is worth it. Good luck everyone, I hope it works for you too.

Been on Yasmin since around June. Since in the last three months, I've lost 45 lbs, which was fantastic, I'm now down to my ideal weight... Yay. This was made mostly strange by my lack of change in eating habits and my inability to GAIN weight as it came off so rapidly it scared me.

Now I'm additionally faced, AGAIN, with cystic acne, which is only a problem I've ever had when on birth control.

I'd like to get off of this from reading these posts and researching the pill, however I'm afraid of gaining all the weight back.

I guess the bigger question is whether or not I would like to continue dealing with the slight depression I've had in the last two months.

Particularly tired of choosing between weight and skin conditions with birth control, especially with the added risk of depression. I've been so snappy in the past month, I keep verbally attacking those that I'm close to and normally this behaivor would NEVER be an issue.

Probably quitting. Hopefully GAINING weight won't be an issue. I'll keep you guys updated. ^_^

I'm 16 year old and I've been on Yasmin for 5 weeks and 3 days now. I haven't had any adverse reactions, and my acne has been getting a little better, but all of a sudden, it's worse today. I'm also on Tazorac.

I've heard so many success stories for Yasmin, did anyone have it get worse before it got better? When did you start noticing results? I know it takes pimples about 5ish weeks to develop, does this sudden breakout mean they're surfacing? Please email me at [email address removed] with any information. Thank you!

I have been on Yasmin for 2 months now, and as far as my skin is concerned it's great. I have really cleared up generally, my skin is less oily and my pores have tightened quite a bit. However!! there are side effects..to start with, this sounds crazy but I find that I have to pee more often!! I heard somewhere online that it can cause urinary problems and this is unfortunately true for me, but its not really a big deal..also, I feel a little more tired than i used to. My sex drive is as good as ever thank god! My hair feels a bit more prone to breaking, and a bit dryer. Also, for the first week after my period starts I feel a bit depressed and grouchy. This is an improvement on my last pill (dianne/diannette) though, as on this i felt depressed 24/7! Anyways, all in all I would say the positives outweigh the negatives on this pill so just go for it and try it out, the pill reacts differently for each person, just be aware that even though it may seem ok at first, all BC pills take 2 - 3 months to kick in.

Hi there, am really wanting someones advice here about yasmine please ;)
I was on Dianne 35ed for 5 years, then switched to low dose Loette as of 5 months ago. My acne has all come back just on my forehead, but their pretty decent looking pimples goddam! I also get really bad migraines once a month at the same time (two days before period) which is very odd. I don't really want to go back on Dianne as its a 3rd generation pill and knowing I have stroke history in the family I would prefer to try a 2nd generation pill, and I'm not sure if Yasmin is a 3rd or 2nd generation one?
My doctor suggested I try it but she hasn't really given me a lot of direction.
stumped!
p.s. I gotta be a bridesmaid in 6 months and wanna get the acne sorted asap!!!

Yasmin is absolutly brilliant! I was on Diannette for 6 months before yasmin, and this caused extreme depression and no sex drive. However, being on Yasmin, my skin is fantastic, my period lasts about 3 days with hardly any pains, and my sex drive is higher than average now! I would recommend it!!

Been on yasmin for 6 months now and find its not all that, athough its great at regulating your periods straight off, its also brought back my teenage pimple skin. I have gone from an active sports player to a tired and moody sore breasted woman. My seven day break is the best week of the month, my mood lifts my skin clears and my breasts deflate back to normal. I demanded I this pill because it was so well advertiesd and was convinced it was the one for me, unfortuantly different things work for different people and as brilliant as its made out to be its not for everyone. So if your on this site looking for answers then I'd advise you to keep trying other brands till you find the one for you.
